Well, you're incredibly smart so I have the utmost faith in your abilities to host such a game. At the very least, I know things will be spelled correctly. *glares at Zepher*

I'll add you to the list. :sweet:

Ya! Do you want more details about it, or would you like to play ?

I have enough details. I'll probably want to play... :sweet:

Well, we'll see if you make the sign-up.

As will I. That sounds like a fun game!

Can't wait, Ricecracker.

Thanks! It's not only my game though, JimButcher is co-hosting with me.

FUTURE GAME CONSIDERATION GUIDELINES

To insure a quality playing experience, we here at the Mafia Guild will be carefully reviewing all requests to host new games. To guarantee fairness, a request should be made in this topic in the form of a vague outline of the basis of the game and suitable for all potential players to read. At that time, we will review your playing and posting history to determine if you appear to have the necessary skills to successfully host such a game and you will be added to the queue. Please indicate the timeframe in which you expect to be ready to host and we will attempt to adjust the schedule accordingly.

If you wish to be considered for a game and have not already been added to the list, you will need to submit that outline. Don't say, "but I asked on page 182" or "but but but blah blah blah blubber blubber blubber" or I'll kick you in the face.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Hinck, I will like to give it an attempt of hosting a mafia game next year or so, when there is a vacant slot. Will provide the summarised write-up on its plot once I have the time to do my write up and submit to you or Shadows. This will also give me an excuse to purchase some past sets as well to integrate them together.

Oh, in case you are wondering what theme I am going into, it's purely Ninja vs Samurai mafia.

APPROVED! No summary needed. You are officially added to the list. I want in. So does Hinck.

How do these people end up in the list? Is Trexxen even around still?

Sadly, Trexx does appear to have died in a tragic internet incident with sketchy details. I was going to do the writing for that game and he was going to photograph it. At this stage, it's permanently on hold, but should the occasion arise, I'll just bump it right ahead of whoever is next.

Hey, you're not playing in it, you're not allowed to complain

I'm playing it. Your spelling is much like Hinck's skills as a lover. Anyone who doesn't get that joke and the past mafia reference it is based upon is not eligible to ever run a game. And no explaining it, either.

What Shadows means is this is an inside joke for mafia games and shouldn't be spread around the forum. He never complains in real life.

When dealing with a control freak, it's often best to just nod and moan smile. :look:

Okay, in the light of these new guidelines, I'd like to repost my concept for a future Mafia game.

From page 22:

I'd like to reserve a slot for a future Mafia game, namely Hogwarts Mafia. It will be situated in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter series.

From page 25:

Instead of night actions, each player would get a selection of spells to choose from each night. So everyone would be able to do something each night, rather than just passively waiting to get slaughtered.

The story would be about the rise of a new generation of Death Eaters after the events depicted in the books. They would start to terrorize the other students of Hogwarts, and the school would have to be locked until the Death Eaters are unveiled (or the Death Eaters gained supremacy). I'm also planning on adding cameos of the series characters into the game.

From page 26:

Each character would only get one action per night (out of the two or three they get to choose from), and several characters would have the same spells. The spells would be simple, for the most part, such as "Protego" and "Expelliarmus", which would protect a person from curses and prevent someone from cursing, respectively.

I can host it pretty much whenever, but I imagine with the current list being so long that it will be well into the year 2010 before I get the chance. I am also planning to hold a Test Round for the Fellows to test out the mechanics I've planned for the game before the real game begins.

If there is any more information you'd like to know, please tell me.

I think we can add you to the list. A couple of those games seem like they won't be happening anyway. It may happen sooner than you think.

Read the list. Quarryman is clearly next. And we don't allow blue text in mafia game host posts. It's a rule. Trust me.

I thought I asked to jump ahead? (I guess not posible?) Ah well I guess more time to get ready. :classic:

I'm sure somewhere in here we declared that first time hosts aren't allowed to be added to the list without submitting a concept to a moderator, either me or Shadows at this point. Bob and Darth Legois haven't really done so, I'm not sure how they made the list at all... :look:

Wait, What the hell!? *huh* I sent you a pm with my plans for Prohibition Mafia and you approved :sceptic: (except the name was 40's mafia or something :look: )

 Sorry...

Well, I would like the Haunted House Mafia to be added to the list. The details:

Plot: Some townspeople have escaped from ghosts from a nearby town, Waterville, and have taken refuge in a old Manor, and the townspeople suspect some of the ones among them may be ghost-possesed. They are determined to find who is possesed and who isn't, and must kill by Voting or Town Killer Night Kill/Paranoid gun owner, etc.

Possesed winning criteria: Must outnubmer the Townspeople to win.

Town winning criteria: Must kill all the Possesed.

If you need any other details, just ask! :sweet:

I would suggest you just PM the details.

Future players could use this info as an advantage

I don't think it would hurt to just have some information on the roles here, after all, there isn't anything in here that they can use to an advantage.

You are very wrong about that and it's best to take ImperialScouts advice. Night Roles and Actions are sometimes the biggest secret and best bluff in a Mafia Game. Spilling the whole pot of beans could be detrimental to your game.

Hmm. You're right, but should I copy it now and send it by PM to you, or just leave it?

You might want to edit the above post so the essential content can be masked out. If we are joining your game, this piece of information is extremely useful for us to maniuplate and calculate the amount of possible night actions in the game itself. I am sure by the time you are hosting this game, we will probably or likely forget about this.

Done! I added it on to a notepad file for when I need it.

:hmpf:

I am going to explain this again so we're absolutely clear.

Outline the game without telling anything that shouldn't be revealed to everyone. If you send details to a member of staff, they would no longer be eligible to play, so we'd like to avoid that.

Think of it like a movie trailer. Let's try The Empire Strikes Back.

Good Trailer: It opens with snowspeeders flying in formation, star destroyers in space, explosions, you see Luke and Vader fighting, people running around a mysterious place with white hallways, stormtroopers shooting, a swampy scene with eerie lighting, hints of things to come but no details.

Bad Trailer: I'm Yoda, I was a Jedi Master for 800 years. Oh, and Darth Vader is your dad. And Han, don't bother rushing to save him, he's getting frozen but you'll free him in the next movie. Did I mention you've been kissing your sister?

See the subtle difference?

If you can't present a good outline of your game without giving anything away, you aren't going to be able to host it without the same problem and it'll suck.

We don't want that kind of suck.

Maybe a fleeting glimpse of a wampa? :sweet:

Absolutely!

I've always wished that they hadn't cut the scene where C-3PO rips the warning label off the room housing the captured wampas, the room that snowtroopers foolishly rush into later. I just know that hilarity ensued.

Farbeit from me to venture off topic, but that's a lie. Why would you tell a lie like that, you liar?

You'd think you would remember the only message asking if you could approve of a mafia game in "blue ink":grin:

No worries.

I guess Hincky can't play in mine then.

Well seeing as he didn't remember anything I'm sure its fine.:laugh: (And I have changed some roles and basic story so it wouldn't matter)

I'm glad I have more time to polish Prohibition, I could add some better things to it... :sweet:
