Farbeit from me to venture off topic, but that's a lie. Why would you tell a lie like that, you liar?

This man is a sorcerer, only here to destroy this topic with his accusations and misdirection! :knight:

From StarWars.com

The labeled doors are still visible in the released version of Empire. In fact, the trailer for Empire shows a scene cut from the film that hints at the wampa subplot. While Imperials are in pursuit of the fleeing Rebels, C-3PO would tear a label from the door. Not seen in the trailer were the pursuing snowtroopers who unwittingly storm the sealed chamber, only to be torn apart by an enraged snow creature.

For the associated video, wampa stompa here.

Same old witch, same old story. :hmpf_bad:

Lying, my megablocks.

I am going to explain this again so we're absolutely clear.

Outline the game without telling anything that shouldn't be revealed to everyone. If you send details to a member of staff, they would no longer be eligible to play, so we'd like to avoid that.

Think of it like a movie trailer. Let's try The Empire Strikes Back.

Good Trailer: It opens with snowspeeders flying in formation, star destroyers in space, explosions, you see Luke and Vader fighting, people running around a mysterious place with white hallways, stormtroopers shooting, a swampy scene with eerie lighting, hints of things to come but no details.

Bad Trailer: I'm Yoda, I was a Jedi Master for 800 years. Oh, and Darth Vader is your dad. And Han, don't bother rushing to save him, he's getting frozen but you'll free him in the next movie. Did I mention you've been kissing your sister?

See the subtle difference?

If you can't present a good outline of your game without giving anything away, you aren't going to be able to host it without the same problem and it'll suck.

We don't want that kind of suck.

Pardon my stupid and nonexistent mind, but I fail to see how simply making a small mistake of revealing a little to much will have anything to do with how good of a host I'll be. I mean, I didn't go and say: Bob, he's the scum. Ohhh and, John is the investigator! The main reason I posted the roles was just so there was no cofusion with the roles having different names. Evil sorcerer! WITCH!

I would like to host a game called the Clone Wars Mafia . It would be different to what I said earlier about the battles of time and would be a mafia. It is indeed a star wars one but I think this would be fun.

You would be a jedi, clone, citizen or a senator. You have taken refuge in an old planets republic base as your transporter was blown up on it's arrival by a traitor. There will be traitors among the players. You must each vote out who you think is a traitor. It would be much like any other mafia game with night actions of which would be stuff like kill, protect and so on. It would be great fun as there are many star wars lovers on the forum and even those that hate star wars might get into it and like it.

I know I am only a citizen on the forum and this may worry you that I am not ready yet but say each other mafia game on the list takes 2 months at least that is over a year before I can start so I would be ready. I can commit myself to getting everything ready and I have read half the done mafia games and will be signing up for all the ones that I can. Plus right now I am playing in Zephers mystery. I think I have made lots of good posts here on EB and I hope you think I am a good member too.

If you need more info on the game I wish to host then please say so.

Simply announcing the roles you intend to use tells a good player exactly what to expect in your game, so yeah, it wasn't a good idea and it does speak to your ability to determine what is appropriate to say at what time. That is the host's #1 priority.

So yeah, it matters.

You need to participate in a couple of games before hosting one.

That is a fair comment but do you not think with all those games already on the list I would be able to play some before I do any hosting.

Progress is coming. I've finished character roles, the plot, and all other general clues and hints. Now I just need to work on finding character figures, and building some sets.

Simple Back story:

Five months ago, a group of people called The Black Diamonds, a terrorist group working for the highest bidder, announced that they are going to kill William Potts, owner of Potts and Co., a multimillion dollar business in the market of electronics. So far, one attempt has been made on his life; however, he managed to survive the incident by his security guards fast acting.

He has called his closest friends out to help him during his time of need, but even in his friends, there are traitors.

And yes, I know that my picture taking skills could stand for improvement.

Are there currently any games which need players and if so which are they?

At the moment, no. There is always one Mafia, and one Mystery game at a time. When Zepher's 'Mystery Manor', another mystery game should open up, and you can ask to play. When Dragonators 'Mystical Castle' finishes (likely sooner than Mystery Manor), Quarrymans 'Infection!' begins, and you can sign up for that and with any luck, get in! Hope that helped!

P.s - Bob, your Mystery game sounds great, I'll try to join up!

After some consideration of how voting has been handled in games up to this point, the following rule adjustment is being made to the "standard" EB rules.

Rule Update: In a standard mafia day, lasting 4 real days, players may not vote in the first 24 hours.

On another note, I would like to congratulate JimButcher, who, after an excellent performance in Mystical Castle combined with his previous contributions to Mafia games, has earned himself a Mafia Appreciation tag. Good job, and well deserved. :classic:

I have to say that's definatly a good idea, considering a reckless cop some new people have been voting too early..... Also, congrats to JimButcher! Well deserved.

That's great, because now people have the chance to post before voting begins, no matter what their time zone. I'm still kind of worried about being voted off quickly (without having an argument before I get convicted). It happened to me in Noir, and to Hinck in MCII. Oh well, I suppose there's no fair way to prevent this...

Thank you very much! :sweet: I noticed it earlier today, and was pleasantly surprised. I'll live up to it in future games.

I'd like to throw my hat back into the ring, and ask if I could host a mafia game. I know I was orgionally supposed to host a Hogwarts mafia some months ago, but I got cold feet (scared/nervous) and I backed out a fornight before. I'd like to host a Pirate Ship Mafia Game, unless anyone has any objections. I have noticed that Shadows has a simularly planned Mafia Game right before mine, so rather than subject you to two very simular Mafia Games in a row, I have decided to change it to a Futuristic/Space Mafia Game.

Also, what happend to Adam's 24 mafia? It's no longer on the index of future mafia games on page one, so is it still in motion?

Looking at the index, shouldn't the Mystery Game section be updated? MOTEE has finished [and is missing most chapter links], and Mafstraw Manor is still listed as just 'Summer 2009 - Zepher'.

Entirly correct, but they probably didn't do it because they can't fit all the MOTEE chapters in. they are too busy.

Also, there should be an 'S' after 'Game' in 'Mafia Game that were paused never to be resumed'.

Maybe it should be "was" and not "were" instead?

I've been thinking of starting a Mystery game, but I could never run it myself with school work and everything. If someone could help me run it that would be great. Just PM if you want to help and I will give you the details on it. Thanks.

I was thinking about a rather interesting concept for a game...

A horror movie mafia game! Thanks to YG-49, probably would be named Slasher Mafia.

Basically, without putting out too much detail and too many secrets, here's the concept:

In the small town of Whirlwind, a few mysterious bloodthirsty people (In this case, the Scum of the game) have joined together to get rid of the townspeople. One night, their plan goes wrong. There is a witness to a murder. Luckily, the murderer was wearing a costume, just like in the movies he loves ever so much!

And the killer must try and find out who witnessed the murder, before they find out who him and his friends are. They're goal? Take out the town, and sniff out the witness. (If the town votes him off or he is killed, the game shall still go on. I will state who it is if he, or she, is found.)

These guys have watched one to many slasher films. And they know every trick in the book. And by that, I mean they're going to use as many of the ways in the movies to nab people as possible. They're going to make their job fun.

---

The next morning, the townspeople wake to the news of a serial killer in their midst, and he may have a few accomplices. Some of them dare to go as far as they can, with the help of a few police department officials and a more-than-confident vigilante, to find out just who they are. But it won't be as easy as they think. They also know that there's someone who wants both sides dead(The neutral killer), and he won't be easy to catch, either!

---

The roles of the Scum won't be given out if they are voted off, and will be revealed at the end of the game. It is crucial to the story. Of course, if this is not allowed, I could change the story a bit. I would state the allegiance of the voted-off person the next day, which gives them enough time to fully search their house and make it a bit more realistic sounding. The night actions of the scum need to be kept secret, due to the conclusion of the game if the scum win.

The town's roles shall be stated if they are voted off, though. It isn't necessary to the plot. Plus, it'll show the town what they've lost.

I'm not going to twist the mafia game rules here, roles and rules are the same. I've justed added them to a new kind of background.

And the typical rules. No voting within 24 hours, and things like that.

---

Dragonator, is this detailed enough? Suggestions? Ideas to improve the game a bit better? I realize I'll need to play a few more games and prove that I can do this, but by the time I could get this game running, I would have played quite a few!
