Fantasy Pirates: A LEGO World Builder Project

I actually did think about the idea of Pirate Orcs before, but I'm not sure if it really fits with the original vision I had for this theme idea... I'll still take it into consideration, though.

How could that siren possibly be evil? She looks so friendly! 

By the looks of her, she's got a bit of the Wolves of Fenric about her. I do like the way her hair seems to be billowing in the water - it's a nice touch.

The zombie pirate looks great. It is strange that LEGO was rarely covered this subject in classic Pirates.

I just thought of this thread today and I was about to ask you about your project if it’s completed but i saw this post you made last year. Oh boy, it has been so long since th least time I posted here. I have to be honest…I LOVE your “Fantasy Pirates” idea!!

Thank you for still being interested in my idea! So what basically happened was that I tried to pitch my idea to LEGO, but I got turned down simply because I was "under 18", which also resulted in my World Builder account getting taken down. I was very disappointed with that, but I still held out hope that I could pitch it again this year... But after seeing which projects had ended up being selected from the the pitch fest my world was part of, I lost all my hope in the platform. From 20+ incredible original ideas, they only approved a single one, and it was honestly the lamest possible choice they could have went with. So honestly, I don't really have that much hope left in the platform, so I decided to take the matter into my own hands and write my own fantasy novel based on the idea. I wrote about eight chapters thus far, and hope to publish the book before the end of this year. I don't think a novel based on my idea  would have been nearly as successful as, say, TLG turning it into a LEGO theme, but hey, at least I'll have full creative control to do whatever I want.

So yeah, if you are still interested in the idea, and appreciate more serious storytelling like I do, I feel like you might want to check out my novel whenever I get around to publishing it. Do note, however, that the novel will be its own thing, not related to LEGO in any way.

This one turned out to be the winner (out of 20 projects that qualified for the pitch fest):

Personally, this feels like a big missed opportunity to me... Out of all the ideas that were submitted, this one was honestly one of the least interesting ones. I honestly don't know what prompted then to select this one over all the others...

Bummer! It’s a real shame that they choose some original ideas over your great idea… Thanks for sharing the update on Fantasy Pirates.

At least you keep trying to make your dream theme happen as hard as you could. Novel sounds great. I still appreciate your Fantasy Pirates idea so I will look forward for your novel!

I have my original idea, “Timequake” but I doubt I could completely a project for World Bilder becuase I’m visually impaired - that prevents me from doing “MOC” or see certain colors.

Ok, I did some searching and I still do not understand what this "The Missing Piece" is.
I managed to find no pictures explaining this "world".

I guess it's really missing.

Apparently, once a world gets selected for development, it get publically removed from the site so it can be developed more "secretly", I guess. But as someone who kept up with the platform, I can say that the original submission was titled "The Missing Piece: A LEGO Christmas", barely had any presentation images, and got a whomping 7 likes . I think that tells you everything you need to know about this platform and what they select from it...

If you are dead serious about bringing "Timequake" too life (sounds like a really cool title btw!), I would suggest writing a book of sorts based on it instead. I know it doesn't sound as exciting as a Movie or TV Show, but hey, we all gotta work within our limitations.
