babyjawa Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks. :) I didn't know about this contest until just a couple of days ago, and most of my collection is packed away.. so I had a hard time. Though it was fun to make. Best of luck to everybody when judging starts! Quote
Commander Faie Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Added my bignette! I'm so excited! I can't wait for the polls to open. I hope you like it! Quote
Axel Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 After re-reading the rules, I can see many, many potential disqualifications. Guys, you might want to clean your act up if you know that your entry is not complying with the rules. Quote
pedro Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Thanks pedro, I might BL that piece. The padawan looks like he's sleeping because of his pose: it looks like he just laid down for a nap. Now, if he was facing down, with legs and arms sprawled (or something like that), he would look like he's dead better. Aye that's true. Who knows though, he could be shot but still alive?! To be honest his position was a last minute change while I was taking the shots - origninally he was closer to the battle droids but the tan colours blended a little so I moved him away. I'm going to change his position slightly to represent him sprawling a bit more (for now the entry is as-is due to time). Cheers for the suggestion! Quote
Oky Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) I'm finally done with my entry! It's huge! I hope you like it and that all expectations have been met and possibly exceeded! I personally am very satisfied with it; I thinks it's one of the best MOCs I have done to date. The idea of creating a battle scene on Dagobah was inspired by a level in SW Battlefront II. This may be an odd place for a war (who would want to fight over such a slimy mudhole? ), but I thought it was an interesting setting for a battle. Unfortunately, my Flickr account doesn't let me save any more images than the ones you can see there right now, so it's hard for me to show you all the details I have put into it. But it says it's only for this month, so if it lets upload more pics tomorrow, I'll open a seperate thread for my mega-bignette. Any questions or comments? As for you guys, good job! Those are some nice last-minute entries! This will be an exceptionally tough contest! Edited July 31, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
JimBee Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Phew, I was getting worried there, Oky wan! Just in time! I really like your entry! The story idea was good, the AT-TE is great, the half-sunken custom LAAT is sweet, and the whole thing is so detailed! I saw some really clever techniques in there, like Anakin deflecting a bullet, Ahsoka force pushing, the blown-up Dwarf Spider Droid, and the swampy feel to the whole thing. Great job, this is really going to be a tough competition, and I look forward to seeing more pics when you get that upload space! Quote
The Nightwing Reborn Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Oky Wan i love the way you have a submerged Republic Gunship and that sea monster bit was a great little add-in. I can still enter today before midnight, correct? If not dang i missed out. )TNR( Quote
Commander Faie Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 How was my bignette? I think I did pretty good. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 31, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 31, 2008 I would like to remind everyone about the guidelines for posting pictures on Eurobricks (see member guidelines): Images: Don't post images that are over 800x600 or are LEGO confidential. Images over 1MB (including GIFs) are not allowed unless there is admin approval. BMPs are never allowed. Avatar images should be 100x100, and may not be more than 400x400. Before registering, please familiarize yourself with these tutorials to learn how to reduce your own images. Also, when quoting, don't quote images unless it is specifically needed. This just fills up posts with repeat images for no reason. However, we won't be too strict and allow only for this contest a maximum picture size of 1024x1200. Everything bigger is really unacceptable. Those members will have to start resizing or they won't be allowed in the vote. Several tutorials on how to re-size pictures are available here. I will personally PM the members who's images are unacceptably big so they don't miss this message. I propose that Clonecommando007 waits a few day before starting the voting thread to give those members time to do the necessary resizing. Here's a list: yorkiejim (3072 x 2048) Skipper 24 (3264 x 2448) Dark Sword Ragnarok (1928 x 2572) Commander Faie (3264 x 2448) Resizing ON! Quote
Commander Faie Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Okay I resized them, PLEASE check them out so you can get a good look at them before voting! The gallery with all the pictures is at the bottom. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 31, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 31, 2008 Okay I resized them, PLEASE check them out so you can get a good look at them before voting! The gallery with all the pictures is at the bottom. I'm only seeing 1 picture Commander. Is that normal? Maybe you want to double check. Quote
Commander Faie Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Yeah I decided just to do one picture then post the gallery because something is wrong with my computer. Quote
Axel Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Both Oky Wan's and ABL's entries look very impressive. Now I have absolutely no chance of winning.... Quote
Skipper 24 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I doubt I'll win either considering the amazing high standards of the entry's. Oh well it was the taking part that counts. I have re sized my pics, could someone tell me if they are still to big please. Quote
commanderbly42 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Both Oky Wan's and ABL's entries look very impressive. Now I have absolutely no chance of winning.... Neither do I. Still, I actually entered a contest so that's what counts. Quote
astoriabluelegos Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Neither do I. Still, I actually entered a contest so that's what counts. Yeah, mine really isn't all that fantastic, I didn't have the necessary parts to make the Kashyyyk I wanted, but it turned out okay for now. P.S. I like your entry a TON Bly, GREAT work! Quote
