Great stuff! Regarding parts in new colors, I think you missed the 1L liftarm in red (18654)...

Right! It was suspiciously low part number on the list that fooled me. New pieces usually have higher numbers than this thing did.

Awesome review as usual. I think it would be useful if you added a “notable parts” section where you put all the useful/hard to find parts in one shot. It would be very subjective. I would have included the different black beam frames, etc. I think a segment like this would be useful for people on the edge of buying the set. I know you put a list of inventory at the end but somebody could easily miss useful parts.

Exactly why I'm not including it. Plus the reviews are long enough already.

A very mediocre set imo. The functions are lacking, the panelwork isn’t very clean and the chassis looks lazy. It’s a nice parts pack, but I won’t buy it for RRP.
You also missed the 3x11 panel in blue as part in new color by the way

Thanks for the great review.

I find it very lacking.

If I compare it to 42077, it brings more design, and 670 more parts.

But nothing function wise. And no B-model either.

@Sariel How would you compare it with 42077?

@captainmib I think the real question is WHY would it compare it with 42077 when it's clearly a successor to the 42096, not 42077?

Similar ground clearance?

42077 was non licensed so substantially cheaper than the 911 and 488. The basic chassis is the same for all of them so they are somewhat silhouette type vehicles.

Nice review. (as always)

It's a good model for everyone. It looks nice as a displaymode and  It's a good base for MOD-ing and RC-ing, maybe kind of a expensive partspack..

But OMG those stickers...

Actually, I do not understand why they did not use the more generic model like the presentation model instead of the team-specific one. .

To be fair it’s basically just a tarted up 42077 with lipstick, same goes for 42096

Isn't this the same car from this review?

Nope.

Let's compare the CaDA model and the Lego model:

not Lego - Lego

Unknown red supercar - licensed Ferrari

1:8 - 1:10

187€ rrp with Bruno's affiliate code or 147€ without power functions - 179€ rrp

3100+ pieces - 1600+ pieces

4 motors and a battery box - none

4 gears controlled by RC - none

Cool looking tyres - same ones since forever

Some too-loose pieces - none

6 stickers - 60 stickers

So, definitely not the same. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

I still like it but not as much as before. But racing Ferraris I like and my 42096 needs a companion. So I'll see about getting it at a discount and then HOG-ing it out.
