snefroe Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 think this is a pretty nice set! a good way to get lots of tracks and it seems to have loooots of playability. i just have my doubts about the commercial potential of the series all together though. it seems to me that all sets are simply "stand alone" sets. Siegfried Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Great review! This is such a must buy for me, and it's a great source of decently priced tracks. Thanks svelte_corps. Why is it that Agents and Star Wars get their own news articles but this fantastic set is totally ignored? Timing. We try to not change the front page too fast... Quote
mutex Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Thank you for this great review. I made a pause in buying Lego these last time but I'll definitely pick this one. The best thing it's that it apparently doesn't take too much shelf space. Quote
Knightsword Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 WellI guess its nice that they're making the story background a little more clear. With that jelly plugged into the power cable... Hmmh, both Jellies and crystals can be used as power sources, think theres a connection? both of them are transparent and greenish... Maybe Jellies hatch from crystals like eggs? or need them as food? or something important like that? Yay for evil humans. I do believe its more of a stasis imprisonment device since the reaper lacks the usual cells and the Jellies use the crystals even more so then the humans as power sources. Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Great review! i really enjoyed reading it. Quote
jamzee Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 just got the crystal reaper, what a spectacular model. its huge, much bigger than i was expecting!! a great addition to my mars mission fleet - i highly recommend it, super value and an awesome build. Quote
slimninj4 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 This is my fav of the 2008 MM. I love the black treads ( my favorite part) and the little details. Tanks are what I like to build next to mecha so this was a winner for me. Easy build and fun to play. Best review. Quote
NXPenguinFlutist Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Is there a right hand motor and a left hand motor? Because if both motors turn clockwise, a you put one one the left side, and one one the right side, then when you push both toggles on the remote forward, it will spin around....is this true? Quote
Siegfried Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Is there a right hand motor and a left hand motor? Because if both motors turn clockwise, a you put one one the left side, and one one the right side, then when you push both toggles on the remote forward, it will spin around....is this true? No. The remote is smarter than that. It has a polarity switch for both toggles; thus you just reverse one. Interestingly I just got this set last week, converted it straight away, and had fun playing "Reaper vs Bulldozer" with my kids. Quote
Dr. X Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Very nice review, you made me want to go out and buy it, even though I've always HATED Mars Mission! Great job. Quote
