TeamThrifty Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Strong words indeed! Perhaps it could have been phrased a little better... There's clearly some inside information floating around, as there usually is. There's often some inaccurate guesswork too, but this time i don't think its guesswork. Hopefully the info is correct as a nice gearbox would sweeten the set. I already want it, less motors and more gearboxes than 42100 sounds just fine to me... once the 30% reductions arrive!! Quote

I'd even guess that @eric trax and/or @M_longer got a set from TLG for review, and once the embargo date passes, they will present it. But at the minimum they have some insider info. Quote

And in Billund they are LTAO Shall we wait for the official reviews? Lol, I have a feeling someone is going to be having a large serving of humble pie. I certainly can understand the frustration of not getting what you expect from a set but simply wishing it so and making statements like this won't change things. Part of me is glad that this set seems better than the last "leak" yet I am still a bit disappointed with the way some of the features appear to function. I guess we won't be absolutely sure until the official reveal, so there may still be a small glimmer of hope and I will decide then whether or not to get this set, I do like the picture though, lol. The price to me is absolutely unforgivable though, more so even than the Mercedes in my opinion, which I am still on the fence about getting, solely on price. So this one will have to be very special to get my money. Quote

AVCampos Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Assuming M_longer does have the set, it's an early sample sent by LEGO. If they showed the parts page, they'd be breaching embargo, which means at the least no more early sets. Quote

That's a point But whatever, I refuse to believe that a set of €450 has only one hub and 4 motors. And I'm not the only one. It may as well be another attempt to put certain mouldy counterfaith producers on the wrong track. Edited August 25, 2021 by JaBaCaDaBra Quote
Gray Gear Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 @JaBaCaDaBra Mould King has already released a new large Bulldozer of their own design a few days ago, so I think it is very unlikely they'll attempt to copy the LEGO model too. It seems to me like the chinese don't care about anything LEGO does exept the supercars anyways. And they don't care about C+, that's for sure. Quote

Just openly commenting inside information for a un-released set on this forum would be seen as breaking confidentiality. Now promobricks is quoting Eric trax on their 42131 news Quote
HectorMB Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) @JaBaCaDaBra, indeed, you might be not the only one that finds very difficult to take the price of this set. Nevertheless, instead of calling "parrots" and asking for impossible-to-deliver proofs to people who has been always respectfull and just shared some info from the upcoming sets, it is way more productive to JUST WAIT. Swearing to whatever is not going to change a thing if the sets are indeed as M_Longer or someone else said. Edited August 25, 2021 by HectorMB Quote

And don't forget the "you can draw where the car will drive app" (except it doesn't because it has no proportional steering) Edited August 25, 2021 by Gimmick Quote

Whoever gets an early review copy of the set would certainly not share any key details in advance like the number of hubs and motors, since that is also a breach of embargo. But don't forget, the photos we've seen came from a Facebook marketplace ad that was definitely not a review sample. If there was one set out in the wild then there could be more, so there might be people who've seen or even built the set already. One thing for sure - since the set is not for sale officially, actually it does not even exist officially, don't expect anyone to provide proof by sharing photos that might be followed by some uncomfortable questions from TLG. Dylan M Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Let's be happy that there's someone here is kind enough to share what they saw or what they really know for the sake of information sharing... unlike the other who's out there which very LOYAL to TLG and choose to shut their mouth ... oops Sorry 😉✌ Quote

But it is pure logic - if some gets a review sample then that set has to be opened and built. Selling it on Fb leaves you with nothing to review :) @Dylan M if someone had a review sample and choose not to be "very loyal" to TLG then next time there would be no more review samples to talk about. Do you think this choice is that difficult to make? Quote
howitzer Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 My guess on how the information is obtained is that someone knows someone who is a keeper of a retail shop that has gotten the delivery of sets to be sold, and the person in charge of those sets has perhaps "bought" one of the sets for themselves and showed the information to one of their friends. So even if this is some sort of a breach of contract by the retailer's side, it's quite impossible to single out which one. The price seems high for 4 motors + 1 hub, but not so outlandishly high (remember, it's Lego, and a licensed flagship to boot) that I'd immediately dismiss the info as fake. But whatever, the official release and reviews will be out when they are out, so either way we'll see what's in the box soon enough. Quote
Dylan M Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Like i said, Someone is kind enough to share what they saw or what they really know... "Someone" ...and many thanks for that One who share some vital info to us ... Quote

SNIPE Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) OK, I actually think the bent beams are a new parts, not just the 4 x 6 45 degree beam, I think it is a 4 x 6 L beam, it cannot be a 3 x 5 because it does not fit. Looking at the image of the box of the set, they look too steep to be 45 degrees, more like 90 degrees. Also, regarding my previous comment, yes the 2 x 1 grill slopes fit with a small gap so idk why lego didn't use them hehe. Edited August 26, 2021 by SNIPE Quote

I'm affraid that it is not the case, please look at the black tappered panels to the sides and you'll notice that end line with light bluish gray beams is significantly lower then place where vertical and (visually) horizontal panels are meet.
