"Finally we're going to get a set that deserves to be a great MOC but now complain due to its price" << it's a joke, no pun intended :sweet:

Seriously, I am really disappointed by the functions/price ratio with this set.

I understand 42100's price with its juggernaut size and a fantastic number of motors and hubs ever inside. I will never buy it (as I will have to sell my car first, so I'm OK with not buying the things which costs a fortune ) but I really glad to watch how it works and how TLG dared to make it an official set with all their restriction and rules wich make the whole process in 10 times harder than just building a huge MOC on evenings.

But as for this set I see no any justification for this price with such poor functions. Additionally (maybe its only me) but I see these linear actuators placed outside with all these angled thin driveshafts surrounded the body like these weird "attachments" rather than a logical part of the whole machine:

Yes, those connections do look fragile and amateurish

But still, it is the most advanced ladder TLG have made to date, that's gotta count for something right?

Err, sarcasm, right? The ladder is great itself but I still decline to buy a wonderful ladder carrier

What's with the red pins everywhere and the tan gears in the track units? Isn't this supposed to be an 18+ set?

Oh, of course - that only affects the price. Silly me...

@Johnny1360

Same large angular motors as the steering motor in the 42114. Basically the large angular motors of the Mindstorms set but recolored for Technic.

Hopefully they'll be more widely available after this set is released.

wide tracks?, I thought it was new just the color... the old ones were already too wide... another bad new..

Couldn't disagree more. I've wanted wider tracks for a while. I'd love them to be rubber rather than plastic too, but wider is better. And it not a 'bad new' as they still make the old one.. they're not discontinued!! Its not like you're being forced to use a new wider piece... Negativity for the sale of it!:ugh:

I agree you do not agree but the new tracks are for unreal machines or snow ones.

I'd rather guess it's going to be the other way around: the new wide tracks won't be used much, as they are impractically large for any but the largest of sets, while the previous 5L wide tracks are being used a lot even outside Technic, so no, they are not going anywhere.

More choices is always good. For small models we have the old 3-wide tracks, for medium/large models we have the 5-wide tracks, and for really large models (or snow groomers) we have the new tracks.

I just hope these larger ones also become available in standard grey/black, as yellow ones will look pretty bad after playing for a while on a dirty ground.

Is it me, or can’t the thin tan 20T gear idlers at the bottom rotate?

I assume their axle is locked, right?

So the tracks will run over the same part of the gear all time, the owner will have to turn them  .
