Ok, cool many thanks......... but i think a VERY rare part!

Nearly impossible to find four pieces of them.

Or i have to buy four streetbikes........ expensive :sceptic:

Just checked Bricklink, doesn't look like you're going to get them much cheaper than 20 EUR a piece, even when buying sets.

It came in two different colors: Yellow, and light gray. The 8420 set had many 'unique' parts in it as well ... that were never sold in other sets.

I agree, the next time i have a look at the street bikes on Ebay.

I have checked Bricklink i found nothing there.

In the moment i am building the Defender 110 and after finish him i want to spend him a closed body in red.

Then the car is round about 600 gr. heavier.

Now the yello hard shocks are at their limit the weight of the car is about 3200 gr.

P.S. Now i have ordered one of these shocks and test what is possible with it.

Another shock is the transparent clear damped shock, it is stiffer than most of the other shocks and has greater travel 32181c02

I got few of those and they tend to break easily ... especially where the spring pushes against the cylinder ... In no time, you'd have the spring break through and get inside the chamber. Very weak design from my experience.

Maybe you got some of the broken ones from an old copy of 8448?

No those were actually new, from I think the fire truck 8454 of the off-roader 8466. They were okay when I installed them, but if you leave them compressed for a while, they break (at least that happened to 2 of mine. I've had the 8448 assembled for 7-8 years now ... and it's still fine. Granted, they're almost fully deployed (roof up), and thus there is little force on the spring/plastic.

Don't say that! I've got two that have been compressed almost constantly for 5 years on the 8297.

Well, it's still a work in progress.

The thing is a bit unstable at the moment when it get's folded out or in. And the yellow things at the legs aren't automatic yet, you need to push them in place by hand. You can see it in a video

Yours must have been from a 'stronger' batch then ... Good thing is, I bought some extra off bricklink when they came out so, in principle I should be able to rebuild all my sets that came with them (8466, 8454) and possibly have some leftover ...

Hi altogether,

today arrived the shock, verf fast delivery, Austria -> Germany 2 days  i was really surprised.

The shock is really good you have four settings to use it.

1. long - soft spring

2. long - hard spring

3. short - soft spring

4. short - hard spring (but this setting is really to hard!)

I think this shock is a good choice for all kind off buggys or off road cars i´ll see.

Here some pics from the settings:

I´ve paid 15€ include delivery, and today i´ve buyed one used bike in good condition for 28€ so i have two of them now.

My next project is a crawler, my own creation with two servo motors and one or two XL motors to drive.

After this i will test with the shock absorbers...........

I wish me a Baja Buggy like this: http://dt-c-rallye-r...rtseite//12.jpg

P.S. This is what i do beside my Lego obsession........... i restore and collect RC cars of the 80´s:

I have two questions:

1: Why isn't this thread pinned? It is actually a very important thread.

2: Would it be a good idea to have a topic, or a section in the MOC index, that shows the sets you would need to build each MOC with instructions?

I am having some issues with my PF's when the signal breaks within the system the system decides to keep working for 2 seconds. Is this normal? I have a V2 receiver.

Completely normal :-)

Always wondered why lego motors work good only in one direction. I mean if it rotates clockwise it's good, if it's rotating counterclockwise it still works but with lags and stutter. New batteries newer solve this with any of my motors.

Any super hard quantum theory of why is this happening?

Also the famous Backhoe loader why is it so popular? Had 3 variants if I remember correct. Oh and the tow truck! Also a very popular model within official sets.

Any thoughts?

  1. We don't want too many pinned topics, to keep the list clear and not too long. This thread is linked in the main index and because many people use it, it will automaticly stay somwhere at the top.
  2. I don't really understand what you mean. The moc index we had some time ago is old and isn't being updated anymore. If you want to see which sets or parts you need to build MOCs, I can recommend Rebrickable.com

Oh, I understand. I know about rebrickable, but what I meant was the least numbe of sets you need to make a certain model. This took a while to type( damn you autocorrect)
