marvelBoy123 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 *Your entry has earned 5 XP* The New Republic was doomed to start from its beginning. Not just in the obvious ways: it military weakness, corruption or lack of legitimacy. It was failing in other ways too. The empire had provided a educational curriculum to teach it young citizens on almost every planet, with protocol droids programmed to deliver a range of lessons and updated regularly. In contrast, the New Republic had an ineffective curriculum and was only available to those who were willing to travel into the interior to get their droids updated. As such, most rural villages in the outer rim simply kept their imperial era teaching droids and so most children were brought up with lessons that glorified the empire and criticised the rebellion. As a result, it was easy for the Triumvirate to win the support in some of these outer rim planets. Sneeve was no exception - with most settlements still educating according to imperial ideals and values... Spoiler A really fun build to make with a range of techniques, obviously inspired by chapter 12 of the mandalorian. It was definitely something that I found interesting, its easy to forget that most people in the star wars universe live pretty normal lives so it was fun to make something that is a pretty much a parallel to my own daily life. Simulterious Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Nice, almost forgot about that scene in the mandalorian! Quote
Tariq j Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Really Good work! I like the texture on the back wall with the tile pieces. Quote
Bociephus Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 I love everything about this, except for the Triumvirate propaganda Lol (Long live CorSec!). But seriously, way to take a fun scene from The Mandalorian and recreate it in such fine detail here! Hope to see these characters show up in future builds. Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Thanks everyone, chapter 12 was probably my favourite of the new season and had such great design that it has inspired a lot of my recent builds. It really was fun to make a scene without any combat or even weapons - maybe something that I will continue in the future. Edited December 24, 2020 by marvelBoy123 Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Great use of that inspiration! Good work... Love the two small grills making the tiny holes in the wall... Nice detail! Quote
dvogon Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 A great classroom in so little space... well done. You made the wall and the floor not boring to see, but yet simple. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Just out of interest, what head did you use with the Monkey King hair? I've used it as well in a figbarf. Curious to see of you went the same way. Quote

I'm pretty sure it was one of the chima lion ones - I had a lots of chima back in the day and it was one of the only heads that matches the ear colour. Quote
