What about this one, used on a couple of Star Wars figs. It checks all the boxes - innacurate to the actor, angry, a recycled head, and it's even single sided.

Oh wow, that is actually perfect for him!

Imagine an IM3 Dockyard Battle they could just chuck a load of different suits in a set like that

Yes please :wub_drool: Should be one of those sets that really focusses on the figures, it's not like we're gonna care much about the docks themselves anyway lol.

Endless possibilities, I say let's give this first wave of "legacy" sets full support and I think we have a bright future!

I would be impressed if LEGO ended up making all 51 of the onscreen Iron Man suits as minifigures.  Currently, 24 of them have been made by LEGO, leaving 27 unaccounted for.  We are still missing Marks:

4
8
9
10
11
12
13
14
15 Sneaky
16 Nightclub
18 Casanova
19 Tiger
20 Python
21 Midas
23 Shades
24 Tank
25 Striker
26 Gamma
27 Disco
28 Jack
29 Fiddler
31 Piston
32 Romeo
34 Southpaw
35 Red Snapper
36 Peacemaker
40 Shotgun

It's technically possible for this lineup to get completed eventually, but it definitely wouldn't be remotely soon.  A set of the Iron Man 3 final battle would definitely get a few of these out of the way.  If LEGO remakes the Malibu Mansion or makes more Hall of Armor extensions, that could also be an opportunity for more of these suits.  I doubt the CMF series will feature more than 1 or 2 Iron Man variants, especially if the series ends up only featuring 12 minifigures.

I'm not even gonna pretend I kept up with everything yesterday in the end so thankful if someone could clarify; do we know which Ant-Man comes with the final battle set - minifig, microfig or brick built giant fig?

Microfig according to Promobricks.

They only mention the stand in their article.

They said in the video that it doesn‘t include a plaque, just a stand :classic: Must‘ve gotten lost in translation

Thanks, that's... Certainly a choice.

Weirdly, the previous Giant-Man and standard (non Quantum Suit) microfig Ant-Man we got from LEGO were released all the way back in 2016 for the Civil War wave.  A Giant-Man build probably would have either made the set more expensive, or taken away from the minifigure budget, so I think the microfig's inclusion is welcome.

Gotcha, thanks! Yeah the automatically generated subtitles didn't make it super clear :)

@benderisgreat It has some level of basis, with the similar font choice, the timing of the sets being released and the specification that it was 'Assembled from the Spider-man Universe' something they did not really need to state if it was just a comic set :shrug_oh_well: Though admittedly we cannot really state it is based on the movie version, as not only have we not seen the movie version but the design of the head for Venom & Carnage would not really be enough to emphasise which version it is based on.

Depending on the longevity of this The Infinity Saga subtheme I would also love to get remakes of some sets they did years ago. Remakes of the Malibu Mansion Attack, the original 2012 Helicarrier set or AoU's Hydra base would be incredible!

Here is my idea of how 2022's wave would be if we got a legacy wave:

Spoiler

£9.99 Iron Man Vs Whiplash (4+) (Iron Man 2)
Build would be a car - similar to 10721. Would include 2 figures.

  • 49 Pieces
  • Iron Man Mk 5
  • Whiplash Mk 1

£19.99 Captain America Vs The Winter Soldier
Build would be a Police Car and a Motorbike for Captain America

  • Captain America
  • Winter Soldier
  • Hydra Goon
  • GOLD CAPTAIN AMERICA

£29.99 Hawkeye Hydra Assault (Age Of Ultron) Gold Hawkeye
Build would be a castle wall segment - imagine dropping the big fig and tank build from 76041. Would include 3 figures and a Gold Hawkeye figure.

  • Hawkeye
  • Quicksilver
  • Baron Von Strucker
  • GOLD HAWKEYE

£29.99 Lemurian Star Ambush (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)
Build would be a smaller version of the Lemurian Star, similar size to 7287. Would include 3 figures and a Gold Black Widow figure.

  • Black Widow
  • Captain America (Stealth Suit)
  • Batroc The Leaper
  • GOLD BLACK WIDOW

£44.99 Confrontation On Svartalfheim (Thor: The Dark World)
Build would be a reduced size version of Malekith's ship 'The Ark' similar design to 76095. Would include 4 figures, a Big Fig Kurse and a Gold Thor figure.

  • Thor
  • Malekith
  • Jane Foster
  • Loki
  • Kurse (Big Fig)
  • GOLD THOR

£69.99 Remake of The Ultimate Battle For Asgard (Thor: Ragnarok) Gold Hulk
Brick Built Surtur, small segment of Rainbow Bridge. Imagine 76051 but replace the Quinjet with a big fig. Would include 5 figures, a Big Fig Hulk and a Gold Bruce Banner figure.

  • Hulk Big Fig
  • Valykrie (Final Battle Outfit)
  • Hela
  • Skurge
  • Thor (One Eye)
  • Berserker
  • GOLD BRUCE BANNER

£89.99 Remake of Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack (Iron Man 3)
Malibu Mansion Build with space to display Iron Man suits Mk 1-7. Would include 7 figures and a Gold Iron Man figure.

  • Tony Stark
  • Pepper Potts
  • Iron Man Mk 47
  • Maya Hansen
  • Eric Savin/Extremis Soldier
  • Iron Man Mk 2 (Old Helmet Design)
  • Iron Man Mk 4
  • GOLD IRON MAN (Also works for Mk 21)

£149.99 Remake of Quinjet Aerial Battle  (Avengers)
Massive Quinjet capable of fitting in all the Avengers. Would include 8 figures and a Gold Loki figure.

  • Iron Man Mk 7

  • Tony Stark
  • Pepper Potts
  • Iron Man Mk 6
  • Happy Hogan
  • Phil Coulson
  • Maria Hill
  • Nick Fury
  • Ultron Mk1
  • Vision
  • Iron Legion suit (AoU version)
  • Iron Legion suit (AoU version)
  • GOLD NICK FURY

Promotional Polybag: Iron Man Mk 1
With purchases of Avengers Tower

  • Includes Iron Man Mk 1 (Same design as before, but different more accurate helmet piece)

--------

The idea is that with a few sets from this wave and the Iron Monger Mayhem set from 2021, you'd have the first 7 Iron Man suits encase you missed any:

  1. Promotional Polybag re-release of Mk 1 with purchases of 'Avengers Tower'
  2. Malibu Mansion
  3. Iron Monger Mayhem (From 2021)
  4. Malibu Mansion
  5. Iron Man Vs Whiplash
  6. Avengers Tower
  7. Remake of Avengers Quinjet Aerial Battle

Collecting the entire 2022 wave would give you golden figures of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Loki and Nick Fury. I went with Bruce instead of Hulk as it seems unlikely they would make a Golden version of Hulk and find a way to include that in a set :shrug_oh_well:

You forgot to mention that we already got "transforming" Mark 8. I dunno if that counts but I can see TLG making an actual suit. (after all they did release a variation for Mark 43.

I didn't start actively collecting the MCU sets until 2018 (budgetary reasons) so I would LOVE a wave like this one

Whiplash would be better off done in the CMF. The CMF line gets more detailed printing than set minifigs, and the arm and torso printing would need that level of detail. Also, to do the whips properly, they'd need to be flexible, and dual molded.

It's definitely better than nothing, you just don't think "shrunken Ant-Man" and "final Endgame battle", right? But yeah, it's probably a budgetary thing, parts wise and new mould wise. One can always hold out hope for an updated Giant-Man either in a subsequent complementary final battle set or for the next Ant-Man and the Wasp movie.

Funnily enough, I was in my dark ages at the time of CW but I still picked up the airport set partly because Giant-Man looked fantastic.

Posted

I assume they are saving Wasp 2.0 (as in Lego Fig 2.0 because the first one was a mess) and Ant-Man minifig WITH new helmet (but old prints) for Quantumania sets.
