Endgame Cap = Endgame Thor = Endgame Ironman = ???
Falconfan1414 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I love how it goes a side view where it’s not 100% perfect to the wave is going to suck

The price per part ratio for the sets is even comparable. Both have licenses (Vidiyo has the universal music license). This Marvel wave is released after the commercial success of movie and merchandise sales. Lego has the chance to fix the abhorrent initial waves and do it right. They have the opportunity to show that they can do the figs just as detailed and with as much care to accuracy as some of the Chinese bootleg figs. Vidiyo is a pipe-dream that is already discounted up to 40% at retailers in my country. But I guess that's where the big dollars lay hidden. On the clearance aisle with 50% discount... I wasn't talking about that. Lego takes a whole different approach to their in-house themes - more prints, new moulds, exclusive pieces etc. Therefore Vidyo is not even slightly comparable to Marvel. 2 minutes ago, Falconfan1414 said: I love how it goes a side view where it’s not 100% perfect to the wave is going to suck Marvel on Eurobricks in a nutshell. People always act like something as minor as this is the end of this theme.

I think Endgame Cap looks amazing, same for Mark3, Punisher and most of the minifig we saw. Well, Black Panther does need leg printing but.. alright he's still cool

We have yet to see what he looks like. You can't just compare a new, fresh in-house Lego theme to 10 year old Lego licensed theme. That's like comparing potatoes to banana split. There’s a point to be made there however. Every single new Vidiyo figure in this wave has leg print. Many have hip print and a few have arm printing. A lot of new moulds have been created (3 new wings!) and while most are repurpose-able, there’s a point to be made that an in house theme that likely won’t last more than 3 years has less of a demand than one of the brands most successful themes, and the prints should reflect that. If Lego has to budget which themes get quality detail, it makes sense to prioritize the Marvel line which has a huge following as opposed to the vidiyo fanbase which exists but not at this scale. Lego Marvel is very successful and popular and it’d be nice if the quality of the figures reflected that. This theme looks cheap when it really turns a profit.

Aquaman is nowhere near to represent final battle hairpiece it's already ugly without the ponytail now the beard is also in jeopardy, everyone in here is entitled in their own opinion, Me? I always give TLG praises when it's due. I love what try did with Shuri, Rocket and Ironman MK3. The fact that they are redoing the Infinity Saga mainly Endgame set, they want to give us fans what we deserve. With the blurry picture I can see Thor is already a failure. Just my 2 cents. First of all, this is LEGO MARVEL we're talking about. Did anyone actually expect more moulds and printings? The fact why this wave will be the best one yet lies not in the quality of minfigures, but of the sets themselves. They have whole movies to base them on, not just concept arts. Taht means that they will be so much more accurate. As for Thor, no, you can't already tell taht he's a failure. Does he have a new hairpiece? A beard? A printed beard? A new face print? Accurate torso? Leg printing? New Stormbreaker? You've literally seen nothing. 2 minutes ago, cosmic said: There’s a point to be made there however. We may not understand those choices, but Lego isn't one of the biggest companies for no reason. They know what they are doing and why they are doing it, even if we don't agree with it.

They did great with other figures, already pointed that ones. It's not the end of the world, it's our opinion to a certain figure that we don't like. Does it affect your opinion? You are entitled to have a different point of view, we can all agree to disagree.

JaHawk2009 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I'm glad my expectations were already rock bottom for the Thor and Cap figures. I'm really hoping the Wanda figure is great though.

I can work for Lebowski Thor design but for Final Battle? I dunno if it looks good to you then so be it. For me it's already a failure. Again, we can agree to disagree.
TobyAis Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Okay.. I've come around it again because I really like the dark tan for his hair and I thought about it a little and I'm pretty sure.. if he doesn't have a new beard piece, he'll have a new face print because I don't see how they can just put the medium nougat beard with the dark tan hair.. seems improbable to me @SpiderJazz And also now I'm even more certain than the Mark 85 will be the exact same as before

Welp, I guess it's nice to have a new torso and possibly a new face printing?
Falconfan1414 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Again just to point out. It’s a side photo. We assume a lot of things because we can’t see the front

(Just give us the shades then we'll be happy and glad) As for Ironman, they did an excellent job for Mark 3. If there's one character they always put an effort it's Ironman - So there's still some light to it. Hahaha. @TobyAis

They know what they are doing and why they are doing it, even if we don't agree with it. Just as they did in 2003? They didn't have Chinese and other competitors at the level they do have now back then, because the markets were less globalized and more protected, but they still managed to go nearly bankrupt. Nowadays the quality overseas is constantly increasing at an evermore competitive price. A worldwide recession and depression could further decrease sales or make customers shift to competitors if the product seems to give less value for a higher price than the competition. That is the problem they are facing right now
Clone OPatra Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 When I first saw that picture I thought the dark tan part on the front of the torso was a beard, not the side of hair. How can anyone really tell if it's closer to the shoulder than to the centre of the torso?

The Aquaman hairpiece has the exact same shape on the side.. we don't need to know if it's closer to the shoulder or the center, it's the hairpiece, the Aquaman hairpiece in dark tan (visibly)
PsychoBuilder Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I have little emotional investment in the beard of LEGO Thor (I really am mainly looking forward to the builds) so I’m just gonna pop some popcorn and watch this. Anyone else?

That’s what I was wondering, it’s hard to tell but to me it looks like there is a part coming down further than the hair would. Maybe not though.
oodan Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Hahahahaha I knew they'd do this! Black Panther having a new helmet was wrong, Thor having new hair was wrong, what's the bet that the rumours about Thanos are wrong too? I'm betting right now that he won't have a movable head. Any takers? You'll receive bragging rights if I'm wrong and nothing else

Metanoios Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) Speaking about tradition in the Lego Marvel theme: When has the build acutally ever been a bigger draw than the possible exclusive figure? I hope that they prove me wrong but hoping for great builds seems even more outlandish considering the past releases of this theme. I can count the good builds on one hand: Both Sanctum sets, 76057: Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle and the 76109: Quantum Realm Explorers Edited April 27, 2021 by Metanoios91
