Yes, but you have to imagine that design with plain grey legs and arms. Because it will only have a head and torso print

I know, but more accurate torso and head prints are more than enough for me

So we’re really getting a $150 UCS-style Benatar and not a single one of the figures included comes with printed legs?

Lol. We have yet to see Quill, but yeah hahahahaha looking likely.

Pretty sure each theme has its own budged and its not shared among all of the thenes

Let me give you a crash course in corporate finance: Let's say TLC chooses to invest $ 50 million into the development of new moulds and prints across all themes. Then each theme gets an allocated part of the overall R & D money (the budget for that theme). In a simplified example Marvel gets $ 15 million and Vidiyo $ 35 million. Me saying "that budget went into vidiyo figures" means that the decision to give the Vidiyo designers more money, meant that the Marvel designers got less (in that year). If Vidiyo didn't exist that budget could literally have been split onto all other themes (including Marvel).

Also the themes all share the overall production capacity and are produced on the same machines. There is not a dedicated Marvel injection moulding machine that is only ever used for Marvel moulds. The machines can be equipped with different injection mould tools which are changed every other day or week to produce different parts. Same with the printing and automated sorting machines. Depending on their release certain themes book those machines for their production cycle. Now during the time all the Vidiyo figures were produced those machines were unable to create arm or leg printing for Marvel figures. From the perspective of ressource management Vidiyo took those opportunities from Marvel. Now you could argue that the designers never would have used arm or leg printing on Marvel anyway even if Vidiyo never existed because a subpar figure with the Marvel name will still sell enough. But then that still is a choice by the company to give us this instead of what they are clearly able to do with other themes.

We don't know about Star-Lord, Groot and Chiaturi yet, but yeah, most likely none of them will have it.

You don't like Vidiyo, we get it.

So glad to see the Aquaman hair in a new color! Dark Tan is perfect for Thor. Too bad it doesn't have a bun, but oh well.
Also kiiiind of disappointed there's no beard piece and just the print, but it doesn't look bad.

The description of the Hydra soldier sadly confirms the CA 4+ set will be AoU-based... Too bad, if you ask me.

Here's to waiting -patiently  - for more pictures

Mitch

Noone here knows the inner works of TLG. Maybe its just different departements and the Marvel one doesnt have any influence Maybe all the budget is already eaten by the licence itself. Maybe the higher ups dont want more budget because they think the sets sell anyway because kids don't care as long as its the right licence.

There's a new face print (not too accurate I might add) and a reprinted hairpiece. That's by far not what it could be but its way better then anything we have gotten in the last years. Finally - for the first time - Thor has an updated haircolour.

This wave will for sure have way more new prints and much more new molds then waves of before. Also we get sets of a movie that was released in the past - other then Star Wars this usually never happens.

But of course, people here will still expect a new mold for so many characters and leg and arm printing. Im not saying it cannt or shouldnt be done. I dont understand why Lego doesnt tap more into the minifigure market. Im just saying we don't know why it is how it is. Im sure for sure that the designers try always their best to please most people. But in the end it's for kids more then for greedy, over precise adults.

*I might add that Im among those overly precise adults. But Im not blind to the reality of the market, that these are kid toys.

Couldn't agree more, it'll probably take me some time to get use to the new Thor but I'm glad that Marvel is revisiting older movies, this year is probably the best thing that ever happened to Lego Marvel, not only because of the sets/minifigs etc.. but because the Theme is expanding, new expensive and more detailled sets, CMF, advent calendar and the Infinity Saga subtheme

Do we have a relative idea as to when the official pics will drop?

As far as we know, either today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Lego always follows the pattern of revealing June sets before May begins, so we haven no reason to believe otherwise.

At the end of the day, this is the truth.

I was wondering which wave are they gonna reveal? which sets? the Infinity Saga sets? only the Bugle and a few other that will be released together? And also when are the IS sets gonna be released? June? July? August?

It actually looks... pretty good. My only qualm is that it shows there’ll be no distinction between the two beard types he has in the film, but I’m ok with that. I expected to be more disappointed, honestly, so I’m good with this!

Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprise if those 2 different Thor figures is sharing the same face.

I wasn't planning on getting any of the IS sets, but after seeing Cap and Thor I might end up getting the final battle set!

Its so odd that he would leak it like this?! Why even post it. U can recreate that easily. I thought the “leaker” wanted to be famous or something.

Really, not even the Iron Monger set?

No, no, he's as legit as it gets

Damn, I keep forgetting about that one! While at first I wasnt a huge fan of the leaked minifigure, it's starting to grow on me.

But yeah, I'm really excited to see that one too! Not sure if I'll get it, because I dont have very big hopes for the Ironmonger build (I feel it will end up being too big) but we'll see, maybe I end up loving it.

Speaking of pattern. I checked last year's dates and Hidden Side, for example, was officially revealed on 3th May. I mean, in perfect quality. Not in perfect they were revealed on 27th April, but still, doesn't look like any site going to reveal at least something this time.

So do we have any idea why leakers sent us into a tizzy about the beard? Will Bro Thor still have it on the torso?

The fig looks great, don't know why the drama was necessary. The hair actually fits him very well.

We managed to do that all by ourselves  It’s just Kingwong’s style to reveal minifigs in amusing ways (and a good way to protect himself from any copyright claims), us getting into a frenzy over it was certainly not his intention

Not talking about Kingwong, talking about the Davy Jones story Falcon Fan and others were sharing. Unless that's the way the other Thor looks, it was very unnecessary, because no one would have thought it would be that way in the first place. :snicker:

People had asked me if the beard could be printed on the torso and I had no idea if lego had done that before
