Yeah, I can see why. I liked it, but my friend didn’t, because he felt the character became a joke for most of the film, and in doing so ignored and made fun of the mental issues that the character had at that moment. The fact that these films have as much comedy as they do can occasionally be a detriment, and to many Thor in endgame is the perfect example of such. Edited April 28, 2021 by NetherCreeper

That and the mischracterization of Steve Rogers was rather upsetting in Endgame.
SpiderJazz Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I hope we stay on LEGO topic before this gets derailed. Would you want a robe torso or topless for the other Thor figure?

Stop fat-shaming Chris Hemsworth. Actually it is quite fitting for a character like Thor, who alway struggles with his "worthiness" to face depression arrive at a low-point and to show how he overcomes these obstacles. If he were a perfect being from his childhood till the moment he becomes All-father, there would be no character development or story really.

Robed Thor I love the red and blue robe he's wearing but also I don't want it if it doesn't have dual moulded legs and arms.. which i think he won't have..

If we end up getting Lebowski Thor I hope it's similar to this: https://www.instagram.com/p/CF2N3LRJ8EO/?igshid=sevk2w31pusb though being realistic yeah, I doubt we get dual molded arms and legs.

I don't really agree with your point, I think it actually dealt really well with mental illness (speaking from personal experience), but everyone can have their opinion, and you're welcome to yours.
Moon_Knight Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I think the new Thor looks great. Not as detailed as I would've wanted but it's what I was expecting. The Aquaman hairpiece was very much needed in that color for Thor. I've been using the yellow one and it's not great. Let's get past the fat Thor arguments. Obviously, many are going to disagree with others opinions. Let's agree to disagree.

They can still surprise us since it's a Walmart exclusive (I think) and smaller.. 30€ set, like.. they could throw a bit more money into this one but.. if he doesn't have either, what will he looks like
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Isn’t there an MCU thread for that sort of discussion? 1 minute ago, Moon_Knight said: I think the new Thor looks great. We get new face and torso prints plus a recoloured hairpiece, that’s already more than can be said for many other Marvel minifigs Something like Cm4Sci’s design would be awesome of course, but that’s just not gonna happen outside of a CMF series

Yeah, exactly, it's Thor at his lowest point, he lost everything and even at his worst, he's still worthy and still more powerful than 95% of all other Avengers.. like your weight doesn't define you, your struggles doesn't define you, you're the person that you need to be and you have to accept that or something (I haven't seen the film in a while).. like his Mom said in the movie, it's a great representation and his battle look is fantastic!

Because if they just went for a torso print, topless Thor would look better and more screen accurate than any version of the robe Thor we could possibly get Edited April 28, 2021 by Metanoios91

Natasha, denial, went to keep doing buisness as usual, living in the past Cap, accepetence, in a captain fashion continued to help other processing the event. Hawkeye, bargening, murdering spree for justice of how it should've happened "fairlier" Thor, depression, circling around the idea that he was the closest to prevent that from happening if only he went for the head, aitnd was taunted by Thanos for that Tony, distanced himself from all of the hero life and focused on family Hulk / Banner, closure, faced his mistakes and fears and come out a more complete guy If you try and look at that motif it becomes clearer that the artistic choice was not a comic relif "lets make the buff confident guy fat and lame"

You already said that you didn't want to argue, but coming back to respond is certainly the opposite. If it is such a sore subject, then maybe you need a little introspection. If a beer belly is emasculating to you, better be careful out in the real world!
