I just want a Symbiote Spider-Man fig from the CMF lol (An actual obtainable one that is). Or maybe even Spider-Carnage. THAT would be one hell of a figure

I never understood why they decided to make one of Spideys most iconic costumes a SDCC-exclusive. Put it in a half decent set and it'll sell like hotcakes.

But then I guess LEGO doesn't like our money :shrug_oh_well:

Not 2021 related but I just finished the Helicarrier build from 2020. Overall it captures the silhouette of the build perfectly and it certainly looks like a Helicarrier. I’m planning on modifying the floor plan for the cage used for MODOK to accommodate for more figures. The play feature of the rolling wheels activating the spinning turbines is pretty weak and I think in retrospect, if the space used for the mechanical feature was instead used as interior space I think I would appreciate the build more. It’s not bad but I see how many are unsatisfied with it.

play feature is weak and could have been used for more interior space. On that note I recognize how difficult it is to interpret the helicarrier of any size into lego because of how massive the actual model is and how minimizing it to an affordable set will sacrifice a lot of key components of such a large ship.

Love the figures if anything a little bitter Iron Man and Black Widow appeared so much in this wave. In this set I would not have been mad at Black Widow’s spot being given to someone else, but I’m also not familiar with the character roster for the game.

It is actually possible to keep the play feature if it does not connect to the wheels while still having an interior. I did it with little to no extra pieces, so if you have some it could definitely be kept and look pretty good.

Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) is easily the most prominent character from the game who was left out of the 2020 sets, and I'm not sure why she wasn't included.

Superbowl on the 7th, hopefully we get some trailers/teasers to talk about.

She did have a set in 2017, maybe it was a licensing thing as we know now that Marvel is planning a 2021 series about the character, potentially this conflicts with the game? Maybe her design did not vary enough to warrant a new figure or a re-release of the old?

Here's to hoping that like Ninjago and Harry Potter, Marvel would receive anniversary sets and golden minifigs when it turns 10 years old next year

Fyi the correct metaphor is "sell like hotCAKES"

as in the U.S. in the 1800s simple cornmeal pancakes(hotcakes) were a very popular breakfast  treat sold at church bake sales and the like, in modern times however Eggs are vastly more popular and sell extremely more, so i guess the new saying should be ".....they'd sell like Eggs"  Lol

i agree with your sentiment however that if TLG put a black suit spiderman in a decent set, that set would sell like eggs.

I am fully aware. That's what happens when I write something when I haven't fully woken up yet :laugh_hard:

I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up going really all out for marvels 10 year anniversary like at least to the same level as ninjago and Harry Potter ..it would make a lot of sense

That would be next year, right?

Eh, I’d like some sort of promotional event, but not gold figures. Maybe just a larger wave with more sets that cover the ground a lot of the previous sets didn’t cover. I’d rather sets that revisit old MCU films and comic sets that cover heroes yet to he seen in comic form over golden figures. Like instead of any particular gimmick, why don’t they just make it a bigger year? I’d rather have a humungous wave to cover Marvel over golden figures.

I don't see why it has to be one or the other. After all, the Ninjago golden figures are spread across an entire wave featuring updates and re-imaginings of old sets from across the entire theme's history. I'm not sure what they're doing for Harry Potter, but a wave that celebrates the Marvel theme while also throwing in a collectible gimmick figure in each set isn't out of the question.

Very true. I wouldn't say no to golden figures but I'd much rather prefer an incredible wave

Apparently we can get 2 for 1. In that instance I’m sold, I didn’t take into consideration how Ninjago was revisiting old concepts along with the golden figure. Idea!! What if they use it as an opportunity to release official versions of much longed for SDCC figures. Phoenix and SpiderWoman feel like must haves in my Marvel collection what if part of the gimmick is we get dual molded printed figures of each dropped in a set? Like happy anniversary here’s accessible figures of previously hard to get characters. I think in the superhero genre, that’d be much more effective than a golden figure. Again all just ideas Lego Marvel hasn’t typically let me down so I’m sure something fun will come of it.

or, a possibility, they do not commemorate the 10 year anniversary at all. I’m sure at DC at least we will get no sort of celebration.

Be careful, if you say it makes senses, Lego might decide not to do it!

In all seriousness, that would be a treat. I hope they give the upcoming Marvel waves as much care as they give Harry Potter.

The absence of a WandaVision or Falcon / Wintersoldier set in the forseeable future is quite strange to say the least. I think it's a safe bet that the Disney+ shows will bring us a big erray of new and varying characters in the MCU, to not have them represented in Lego form seems like a big missed oppertunity. I mean, especially next year, missing Ms.Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon-Knight would be quite dissapointing. But also now, missing out on John Walker, Zemo, Flag-Smasher, Agnes, Kate Bishop, Lucky, etc etc. is quite strange.

I'd be extremely disappointed if we don't get WandaVision sets

Okay, just trying to be hopeful, but Wandavision was originally meant to premiere later, right? That might explain the lack of sets.

Might be wrong, tho

Isn’t there an untitled Disney Plus set scheduled for release? Who’s to say that won’t go to Wandavision. I think it’s far too early in the year to discard any potential set.

I hope you're right. I'd be okay with getting Falcon and Winter Soldier sets a little later but I really want WandaVision sets now

With Star Wars and Harry Potter being licensed themes with sets coming in June and having descriptions of them, do you think we might get descriptions for Marvel sets soon? I certainly hope so.
