I just realized... are yellow legs even possible from BFA? Because it would make for naked minifigs.

They just made a solid yellow figure so no

There is a rumor swirling that the What If mech set is actually Iron Man's Sakaar Mech and not the WW2 Steve Rogers mech. I think this would make more sense instead of Peggy being in CMF AND a set.

Where did that rumor originate from? I don't see it anywhere.

Considering the WW2 What If rumor has been going around for quite a long time and hasn't changed a bit since I honestly kinda doubt this new rumor is true but considering Peggy is in the CMF I'd much prefer a Sakaaran Hulkbuster build.

It was a now deleted insta post that included the piece count, though that may have already been leaked.

I doubt if it's real as it's nowhere to be seen, but that would be a much better and unique choice.

You're both right, thanks!

Having two Peggys (set and cmf) is actually strange, so I would say the Sakaraan hulkbuster is a possibility. Additionally, I was wondering how LEGO would portray the WWII Steve Mech , which needs to be sand green as is very militarized. The pieces and stickers would be great for building your own WWII tank, I I'm not sure that's something LEGO would approve.

Don’t... Don’t give me hope

I'm still amazed that we're getting a set like the Daily Bugle.  I had spent the last couple years thinking that random vehicles and mechs would make up the entirety of the comic Spider-Man line's future.  I can only hope that the Bugle sells well enough for LEGO to make more sets like it.

It's too bad that Marvel has never been able to be involved in LEGO movies the way DC could.  I've always wondered what a LEGO Spider-Man movie with the same level of detail and care put into it as The LEGO Batman Movie could be like.  At the very least, we could have gotten a far better variety of villains by now, considering TLBM had like 40 DC villains featured.

Because the Bugle didn't do much to fix the shortage of new villains, I've been in the process of trying to acquire parts to make them myself.  I have purist custom plans for comic Hydro-Man, Hammerhead, Chameleon, Lizard, Mr. Negative, Morbius, Jack O Lantern, Tinkerer, the Enforcers, and several others.  That should even the odds against all the new heroes we're getting.

I'm trying to make some purist customs as well - Electra, morbius, and moon knight for now. You should definitely share as you go, I'd be interested to see alternative versions for characters!

I'd rather get a Gladiator Iron Man & Ragnarok Style Hulkbuster mech than the WW2 Steve Rodgers Mech... but the WW2 Steve Rodgers Mech was rumored and reported on quite a while beforehand so it seems a lot more likely.

At this point in the year I'm still waiting... need to see the CMF series before deciding upon any of the other sets fully. I'm hoping we'll have a surprise Drax (and hopefully Nebula) polybag to make the Benetar a little more justifiable a purchase. In a similar regards a polybag for the Daily Bugle would be nice.

If no polybag, will be waiting till around August as we'll have the Shang Chi polybag then and I may settle with just that as opposed to getting the Shang Chi sets - after all Spider-man NWH might wind up getting more sets than what we are aware of currently and I'd anticipate a lot of focus on Doctor Strange MoM & Thor L&T next year along with hopefully some more Infinity Saga sets.

Perhaps the body/head from the Hydro-Man attack set combined with Nya's water pieces from the summer sets (both the swirling leg piece and the back attachment pieces). Would not be comic accurate, but would be a neat designed Hydro-Man.

Do be aware that some figures will probably wind up in sets in future.

I just added a few parts lists to the Purist Superhero Figures thread if you're interested in seeing them, though expect more to be added over time:

Those water pieces should be useful.  The Juniors Mr. Freeze torso having a striking resemblence to Hydro-Man's costume was the main thing that lead to me trying to design a custom for him.

I'll be very pleased if we get some of these villains in sets.  I'll be much more likely to buy them if they have something different from the same handful of villains that we've been getting again and again with few additions.

Brickset just posted a review of the Dragon Flyer set.

Jeeeesus it looks even worse in person. And the guy who made that also made the absolutely incredible Daily Bugle? What?

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. He's on the super heroes team, and ya can't win em all.

It looks really accurate to the in-universe vehicle, nothing wrong with it imo :shrug_oh_well:

It's just like you don't like the design of the in-universe vehicle, which makes you dislike the Lego set *oh2*

Nothing wrong with it tho, but it's actually a perfectly accurate representation of that aircraft...

Nothing Im picking up, but three figures and a decent vehicle for $20, its not a bad set. Especially considering all the other sets dropping! Have to have that entry level item somewhere in a wave.

That was me. I had an information from reliable source. I decided to delete that post, because all comments were like "you're lying!".

How confident would you say you are about the rumor (if you can say)?

Nah, love the in universe vehicle, hate the build. The grey looks bad (gunmetal grey would've looked better but I get why they didn't do it, could've made it black though) the front is too boxy and it's generally too short, flat and wide.

I trust that source. But I was very surprised by that too.

The slicked back hair already exists in dark brown though.

I was more referring to how it was stylized on the sticker with the wave details:

I did consider that one when I was looking at all the different torsos that have ties on Bricklink, and Ernie's does match the closest to this picture of Robbie:

Robertson, Joe "Robbie" [in Characters] @ SpiderFan.org

I was hesitant on using it though since it still looks like a torso piece that would belong on an old man, which Robbie really isn't. But at this point it might just be the only option.

I'd really love to hear what heads people use for their Peter Parkers. I've been using the 2011 Neville Longbottom head since the theme started

I've seen a lot of people use the Marty McFly head (mainly for MCU Peter), and the 2004 Peter Parker's head still can work reasonably well as a current minifigure. The yellow faced version of it has been used hundreds of times for generic City minifigures, but seeing as how it first appeared in a flesh tone in the Spider-Man 2 sets, I still see it as Tobey Maguire's face in minifigure form:
