SpiderJazz Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 It make sense not to do CMF every year even it’s Marvel specially now they’re killing it. But I can’t help to wonder, what are the plans. If WandaVision, FATWS, LOKI and What If? “worked” as a cmf how about those remaining shows? Minifigure pack? Set to include all of them branded as Disney+? I hope they don’t miss those incoming in the 2nd half of the year. From what I know, 2 shows still slated for late 2021 are: Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel
The Stud Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 I gotta say that Loki was absolutely amazing. Honestly one of the best Marvel Studios productions so far and I too wish we could have gotten a set out of it. Maybe next season! 1 hour ago, SpiderJazz said: From what I know, 2 shows still slated for late 2021 are: Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel Ms. Marvel will be a major character in The Marvels next year and will almost definitely be in the set(s) for that movie, so I don’t think a set for her show is necessary but I could see us getting a Hawkeye set, maybe early 2022. Maybe with this red car from some of the concept art: https://images.app.goo.gl/7fTAiJcLuXjxx8UE6

Potential spoilers for figures/shows: Spoiler Ms. Marvel wears a Captain Marvel halloween outfit and a final costume that she'll likely use again for 'The Marvels' which is November 2022... so can see them holding off on her until then. Show seems to be mostly focused around her facing off against a government group and while she may fight a villain, I doubt it'll be anyone iconic enough for a figure. It's possible Red Dagger is an ally and potential rival, but if he's got a big enough roll then I'd expect him to show up in 'The Marvels' Hawkeye could get something, but would probably wind up being early 2022 if so. I'd expect perhaps a small set featuring Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Yelena (Ronin Outfit) and Lucky (The Dog). Set would probably be the red car shown in the concept art.

I definitely wouldn't mind a second series, but in 2023 at the earliest Agreed, I think a 2 year gap would still enable a hypothetical series 2 to sell well. Edited July 15, 2021 by Anonknee Muss

Simpsons: Season 1 had the most iconic characters in the most iconic looks Season 2 had 10 new characters who were all less popular and the returning characters were not particularly in iconic looks TLBM: Season 1; Released a month before the movie and available the same year as the movie, 6 different Batman variants, Iconic characters with fairly iconic outfits appealing to those who had no interest in the movie Season 2; Released a year after the movie, 2 Batman variants, 2 figures that are effectively the same other than face expression, lots of less popular characters who were given little or no focus in the movie many featuring less detail The trouble with those CMF series is that they threw everything at the first wave and left little to really expand on. This is not really an issue for Marvel where they have brand new characters with brand new movies/shows to advertise them. Ideally if we get a second CMF series the appeal would be for characters from the newer shows (Spoiler tagging for potential characters) Spoiler Season 1: Scarlet Witch White Vision Monica Rambeau Captain America (Sam Wilson) Bucky Barnes Loki & Throg Lady Loki & Croki Captain Britain (Peggy Carter) Zombie Captain America Star-Lord T’Challa Spider-Man with Cape Warlord Gamora Season 2: Ms. Marvel Red Dagger Hawkeye Kate Bishop Ronin Moon Knight Randall Spector (Or whoever Ethan Hawke is playing) Jennifer Walters (Alter-Ego of She-Hulk, as I expect this will get a set also) Nick Fury Talos Veranke Iron Heart/Riri Williams

To add, there are 3 series per a year (1 regular and 2 licensed series). I think it would ridiculous to see future Marvel series every year, “pushing” other one licensed series aside. Recently, we have Looney Tunes Seires 1 so it could be potential to have Series in a few years. We have Disney Series 2 so it could be potential to see some popular characters coming up in Seires 3. For example, we did get Stitch but no Lilo yet. We have Harry Potter Series 2 but we still wait for some new characters or variants in Seires 3. I dunno about DC Comic Seires 2… I think 2-year gap would be great for Marvel CMF.
Leggomyleggo Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 (edited) Marvel just needs the LEGO star wars treatment to do it proper justice. Star Wars gets sets from og, prequel, sequel and spin off shows. Marvel has gotten too big for LEGO's current plan for the theme. Lego needs to up production and change their marketing. No need to do them by movies or series. Lego star wars sets just say "Star Wars" and the sets doesnt really have a mandalorian logo or Attack of the clones logo for example. I hope Lego learns from this year and changes things in the future, otherwise we will miss out on a lot. Edited July 15, 2021 by Leggomyleggo
GoldenNinja3000 Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 I'd expect another HP CMF series next year but maybe that won't happen because of this year's D2C. I do think we're due for Disney Series 3, but Marvel Series 2 could fit next year as well if LEGO wants to continue representing the Disney+ shows in CMF series.
Lion King Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 (edited) I’m not sure if that’s spoilable so I will say: Spoiler I don’t watch any Disney+ Marvel tv shows myself but is Zombie Captian America in tv show at all? In my opinion, I think it’s cool to have that minifigure for Halloween theme! Edited July 15, 2021 by DBlegonerd7

Thanks! I think I will pick Zombie Captian America. I just think it’s neat for Hallowe’en-themed Marvel collection.

Perhaps they will learn and it would be nice for them to revisit some prior characters and sets... only issue would be that I'd constantly be waiting for the next 'better' version of the set as opposed to buying the ones based on concept art or rushed to release near the movies. No point buying a set this year if I can wait a year or two and buy the improved version, at the very least for Star Wars that is a big problem.
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 Umm, this might be nothing, but I've found something very intriguing on the back of my copy of the Shang-Chi polybag: A sticker that says "Red Guardian's breakout" So it's either a joke, or there really was supposed to be a Black Widow polybag at some point and it got replaced by the Shang-Chi polybag since they share set numbers. Or it got assigned a new set number and it's still coming? Any ideas?
lego_guyon02 Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 A bit late on the news and I'm not sure if anyone has brought it up yet but Collider reported that Marvel Studios is skipping San Diego Comic Con this year. Really hoping that also means there won't be a SDCC set.

The difference is that Marvel is putting out at least 3 new movies and 3 new series a year now. Star Wars is revisiting movies with 1 or 2 new series a year. Marvel could just be releasing new stuff all the time. Revisited sets would rarely happen.

Maybe in November since that's when the Black Widow one released last year and I think that's when the in-person part of SDCC is happening. The only reason I can see SDCC sets/figures not happening is if LEGO decided not to make anything because of COVID still preventing large gatherings.
