I bet it's been delayed in some territories because of the "shortages."

Nah, I don't think so.

Sometimes people just confuse January / March and June / August release dates, as Lego uses them differently for some waves depending on territories.

The thing is, both of those services are German, but only one of them can be right. For example Promobricks was somehow wrong about the prices for 2 bigger sets.

March would seem quite close to the summer wave, the article has been updates to say other sources are reporting Jan release.

While I still expect January, and think you're right with the leaks -  there is a MAJOR supply chain issue and can see delays becoming the norm these days.  One of my friends is high up in a company and this for a living at a major global company and he says everything is delayed everywhere. Right now there are 62 container ships waiting to dock in LA, up 10 since a couple weeks ago. They are expecting it to stay the same or get much, much worse. I would recommend get used to everything being delayed, including essential items, and doing holiday shopping now.

Surely the March date is a mistake. Or has it been pushed back?

Can anyone confirm? @Brick Clicker @lego_guyon02

It's possible with production issues they will be Lego store exclusives from Jan and then go to wider retail release from March. If the productions issues and shortages continue I can see it happening for a lot of the 1HY sets...

so lego can make a set of the titanic, which is famous for the deaths it caused, but not deathly hallows because magic deaths aren’t as family friendly as real ones

Lego can make sets of Deathly Hallows.

Exactly Seaber! The idea that LEGO can't make sets about the Deathly Hallows has become crazily over exaggerated. The designers never said it isn't going to happen- they simply preferred to go the safe route when planning out the theme, as the adult market for LEGO and Harry Potter were definitely not as clear 4 years ago as they are now. If the theme were to continue, it would be shocking if we didn't see a Deathly Hallows wave within the next two years, even potentially by this summer wave

There's a difference between a single 18+ set and a whole new wave for an evergreen theme.

Also, y'all are really exaggerating what they've said. They didn't say that they'll never make DH sets, but that they want to focus on earlier movies as they resonate better with children.

It’s definitely not to say we won’t cover the later movies at some point, but they do tend to be aimed at a higher age, which is why we target the first few movies [...]

I think the distinction that needs to be made is that the Harry Potter playsets are aimed at children therefore DH is harder to incorporate into LEGO's strategy/core demographic for the theme. Which I personally think is bull, but it's what they've said

Obviously the Titanic isn't aimed at children and is part of LEGO's push to appeal to adults, people are being dramatic about it. Some people are acting like LEGO are being hypocritical, when they just have different demographics/market for different themes. It's all a bit exaggerated.

Stonewars provide some more details about the 2022 sets in their article: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-harry-potter-neuheiten-q1-2022/

Noteworthy new bits of information include:

  • The release date is the 1st of March :sceptic: Leaks might take a bit longer then
  • The DADA set includes a depiction of the dark mark
  • The Hospital Wing set includes a bottle of Skelegro and potentially a new owl print
  • The suitcase set maybe includes a new leg piece that combines short legs with a skirt

About darn time for Skelegro bottle!!

it’s interesting about skirted leg piece. It would be useful in any MOCs.

Thanks for sharing details!

Gordon's new torso is a pretty good fit for Runcorn.

Um who is Gordon? The police from Batman?

And I have no idea who is Runcorn…

Albert Runcorn is who Harry poses as when they sneak into the Ministry of Magic in Deathly Hallows.

And I agree that the new Gordon torso print would work for that

Oh that Polyjuice disguise! I never bother to know that man’s name in the movie until now. Thanks!

It looks a little too scruffy, but pretty bang on. The Penguin from The Batman wave also looks good for Ministry characters.

Not sure if this is anyone here, but figured you would all like to see this amazing MOC WIP of Gringots.

It’s definitely an odd reason, but it is what it is. Considering we got Expecto Patronum(which could be a bit unnerving for younger kids) or the Rise of Voldemort(again, unnerving). Granted they don’t show the acts in the sets, kids know what those sets represent.

Ok, I’m officially flabbergasted! Obscenely good. Those tracks…

The buildable Harry and Hermione set 76393 is 50% off on Target. Picked it up! Do you guys think we’ll ever get a buildable Ron? I’m guessing no as I assume it had to get such a steep discount due to poor sales. I hope they make him as it feels weird without the trio.

As they've gone there with these buildable statues I really hope they do release a Ron. However I don't think it will happen because Lego is the king of inconsistency and doing the illogical, plus unfortunately I don't think Ron on his own would sell as well even with the lower price point for the single figure. I think Harry is probably the draw of the set for the majority of buyers; I myself would not normally have gone for this type of set as I love minifigures and location based sets, but it was Harry in his cape that got me. As it is I just display him rather than the duo, but if I could get Ron I would definitely display them all together.

In the UK the set is only available through Lego direct or exclusively from a toy store called Smyths and I picked mine up from Smyths when they had the set reduced from £120 to £90. I must say that even that felt a little expensive, so I can see why the set might potentially not be shifting well at RRP.
