An uncommon opinion, it seems, but one I actually share. Aside from the Three Broomsticks, everything in Hogsmeade seems like an afterthought in the films. In the books, especially after Prisoner of Azkaban, it's often a vessel for boring but necessary story movements that JK can dress up with a new location (the café where Harry and Cho go is springing to mind here). Given that the Shrieking Shack is separate enough both in geography and scenes taking place there that it will almost certainly be a separate set no matter how many times Lego run through Harry Potter, and the most we really see of elsewhere in Hogsmeade is a tiny glance at some shopfronts and about ten seconds inside Honeydukes, a Hogsmeade set is basically the Three Broomsticks and Friends.

I think they covered it now with the set and there is no need for more Hogsmeade besides Shack

Agreed. What's left undone of Hogsmeade would really just end up being Winter Village with Fleshie Figs

Yeah I forgot Dark Tower, thats a good one I guess but Boathouse and Courtyard (Great Hall one) wouldnt work as there is no way it could be connected to 2018 Great Hall without heavy rebuild.

True, but the 2018 Great Hall set has a dock already attached, so the Boathouse would be at water level. Kinda

I definitely want to see some cloisters; not sure how they'd do it though. I doubt this will happen, because it's not exciting enough for most kids, but I'd kill for an accurate library set. Maybe they could just do the Bodleian as an 18+ non-HP set lol

I have some okay cloister plans but most involve illegal techniques so... If we ever do get cloisters I reckon they'd either be new pieces, or more likely very underwhelming with current ones.

The Hog's Head is quite important too, and appears in more than one movie. The other shops we know so well from the book are literally missed with a blink.

If you guys can have only one set made doesnt matter the price to complete your collection what would it be.

Personally, I think the Ministry of Magic is most in need of a set.  Despite being a fairly prominent location in the later books/movies, we haven't gotten a single set taking place within it!  I could see a D2C set of it being similar in structure to the Betrayal at Cloud City set, and incorporating the Atrium, the Department of Mysteries, and the Death Chamber.  About 15-20 minifigures should be able to represent the climax of OotP well enough.

As for Hogmeade, I could see the Hogs Head and the Shrieking Shack being individual sets at some point, and a remake of the Hogwarts Express could include Hogsmeade Station instead of King's Cross Station.  That would get all the notable locations out of the way.

I don't understand, why so many people dislike girl's bathroom? Just look at it, it has sinks, amazing minifigures and toilet!

Because it looks like a box.

It sure looks good when combined with other sets, but it sure as hell doesn't work as a standalone set - it looks like someone took a piece of a $100 set and sold it separately for $20.

Saying that, minfigures will definitely rock.

I never realised the DA meeting was in the Hog's Head. In that case, I'm all for it to get a standalone set - that's another chance at an Ernie Macmillan or Michael Corner minifigure

And a chance at getting all the DA members in their cosy wintery clothes! Maybe they could use that knit hat/hair combo piece for Parvati and Luna.

Nice as that would be, I can't see Parvati turning up in a Hog's Head set. She's not integral to the scene, nor is she one of the main characters who will recur over and over again, and there are lots of characters in that scene who we've never had - and who might not have a better chance. Parvati, imo, would be better served in a Divination Classroom set with Lavender.

I’m about to finish building Diagon Alley set. When it is completed, I will plan to arrange stores from-to-front where cobblestone street will be formed.

But i have no idea how to arrange shops in right order according to the book or movie. I tried to google a layout but I can’t find a good answer. Help?

The book is a bit tricky but going off the movie the set in it's straight-line-configuration is the right side of the street as seen in shots like this one:

Chapter 7: A Diagon Alley Shopping Trip | I'll Always Be Here [Harry Potter story]

The only shop that doesn't really fit in is WWW but I would still recommend leaving it on the far right side.

The order changes depending on the film, and I don't think there's an official layout from the books either. The buildings in the set are all on one side in the films, so there's really no "right order" if you display them front-to-front. I will say, they do look really good displayed that way though, especially if you take some close-up photos. I just did Ollivanders and QQS on one side facing WWW and Flourish & Blotts on the other and it looked nice.

Good idea

I just hope they dont make the ministry a 400 set :D

Does anyone have an idea about the Hogwarts layout how to make it as accurate as in the books and movies.

I think they should do the courtyard and boathouse where we should modify the Great Hall since its just a pitty they left so little for the courtyard

This is the layout in CoS, in PS it is the same but Flourish and Blotts is where the 2nd Hand Bookshop is in that image, and Ollivander's is where Flourish and Blotts is. For the later films check out the Studio Tour Google map. Knockturn Alley is below the Leaky Cauldron.

Personally I'm going to lay mine out as it appears in PS, but replace Broomstix with WWW.

Every time I see this angle it's so satisfying how close the actual set is.  The ordering and colouring (bar the slightly bright pink, but we've discussed that to death), the angle of the QQS window, Florian Fortescue's canopy, the paved edges and cobbled middle of the street, the sign posts, window shapes, flying snowy owl... the list goes on.

That raises a question - is the snowy owl Hedwig?  After all Hedwig appears for the first time later in a cage.  If not then we have our first non-Hedwig snowy owl in lego, a whole new character!  ...shame about the reprint smh.

Most rooms are "boxes" if you think about it. Also the interior is better than the whomping willow set and bigger than the clocktower classroom.

Also isn't it a good thing to release locations in smaller but connectable sets instead of one 100$ set which maybe would have 2 new rooms/floors and 2-3 repeats. That way (with the smaller sets) you can buy the rooms/interiors you want and just ignore the rest. Isn' t that usually what most Afols want? Same goes for trains with waggons sold seperately.

I don't think this photo is exactly rare, but it's new to me. It shows the street looking towards the Leaky Cauldron, with the released shops on the left side of the photo.

Gringotts

Gringotts, but it's only the minecart ride with the waterfall that washes away enchantments, including over five hundred trans-light-blue studs to represent the water - which have to be manually picked up and put back in place every time the play function is used.

I think that would satisfy the "lower your expectations" criteria while still giving us Gringotts!

Exactly besides the “Harry, I’m your Godfather” scenes, nothing of importance really happens there, so I don’t have much of a connection to it. And the architecture isn’t like Diagon Alley where it’s beautiful, it’s just some snowy taverns. I’ve bought every single HP set so far in the reboot(bar microscale Hogwarts), and I think this might be the first one I skip out on because of space constraints.

The interior is better because this build is nothing but interior.

For example, last year's Room of Requirement wasn't a box, and it looked excellent. It had everything it needed and looked great on its own.

The idea itself sounds very plausible, but those sets also have to look good on its own - if they don't, it's like paying $180, but 3 separate times for in reality one set.

The Room of Requirement has always look to me like something could stack on top of it.

Anyone else think that?

What would you stack on it tho? Another wall?

I put a grey roof on mine to match the rest of hogwarts.
