I was doing it by the first way because I dont have URL for those images, I have just saved them in my computer.

In that case, what you want to do is upload them to Imgur (if you create a free account, you can upload them as 'unlisted' pictures, so they'll only show up by following the link/embedding the link). That will give you a URL that you can link.

The other option is going to be subject to the 100kb attachment limit on Eurobricks.

Well if the August sets really suck, their sales will more than likely reflect that, and hopefully they’ll learn not to release too much brick built stuff and unnecessary remakes. If they sell well though... we are screwed, this forum is biased after all :sadnew:

Okay so here you have some movie shots of Bell Towers to prove that they arent unrecognizable or boring for Hogwarts set. The first picture is from PS, second from CoS, third is PoS Buckbeak flight scene and the last one is I think from either OotP or HBP. Sure, we dont now its interior, but they can put basically anything there because this theme isnt strict to movie accurate room placement anyways.

You say that, but I was just checking the prices of the minifigs from DA on Bricklink. Ouch. At that rate, I may as well buy the set. I expect the same will be true of this summer's CoS/GH mashup I really don't like, it will be better value to buy the set and use the bricks for MOCs. And I bet I'm not alone on this. They put a bunch of rare/exclusive/new minifigs in the summer sets, and punters like me will come along and buy it regardless of the design...

I don't know if I've imagined this, but I always envisaged the library being in the Long Gallery, near the greenhouses.

Thats what I am aware of. I very like the minifigure selection for june wave but I hate design of Hogwarts sets so I was thinking about skipping at least CoS set and buying just minifigures from BL but as you said sometimes its better value to just buy set anyways. Also DA isnt best examle because that one is prefect set with weak minifigures but CoS is a weak set with perfect minifigures.

Yeah me too, it suits very well with Long Gallery windows.

IMO the DA figures are bland (and I actually love the builds) so if that standard for minifigures is what would “save” the lackluster August’s sets, then they’ll be an easy pass for me.

So far I haven’t seen a set from the reboot where the builds are lackluster while the minifigs are great, it’s either been the other way around or a nice balance between the two.

The closest is probably the Hungarian Horntail set.

I mean, I’ve liked the builds shown so far, not to mention we haven’t seen the interiors yet.

They still need to give us a mind-blowing minifig selection/quality like in the 2010 burrow :roflmao: Even though we all loved the build itself when it came out, but you get my point.

Chamber of Secrets is a very important location which, canonically, is underneath the school

It makes them more money to split the Long Gallery and the Chamber up

That's what they have already done, haven't they?

Being difficult, because of the connections they've given to Hogwarts parts (Great Hall, Whomping Willow, Clock Tower, Astronomy Tower), to put Chamber of Secrets below the castle (traditionally below the Great Hall), they had 2 or 3 possibilities:

1) creating a stand alone Chamber of Secrets, like Room of Requirement, with no suggested connection with 2018-2020 sets (of course, one can always mod his sets); so a Chamber of Secrets below the castle (with rock pieces to show it), but non below the castle (cause they would have presented this as a stand alone).

2) remaking the Great Hall, with the Chamber of Secrets below, with no clear connection with 2018-2020 sets and a Chamber of Secret concretely below the castle;

3) creating a Chamber of Secrets to put under the 2018 Great Hall, sacrificing the connections between sets they suggested.

Being this year a special one, they decided to celebrate the anniversary going with the second option, giving us Chamber of Secrets and basilisk below a particular and unexpected Great Hall remake.

Obviously, at this point, Long Gallery and Bell Tower(s) are on the table yet, like possible sets for the next years, maybe with scenes and locations taken from DH, if Lego would return to the 2018 style.

Yeah true if more than half of them are gonna be reuses from other sets or even themes it wont be great minifigure selection

Interiors wont change my mind as much because I display all sets from exterior side.

I'm well aware. The original point was a user saying that they'd expected the Chamber to be the interior to the Long Gallery (before the sets were known) and I was addressing why that was never likely to happen imo

This is a forum for discussing Lego sets. Without critique, there's no discussion. I assure you, no one is losing sleep over disappointing set designs.

Indeed it is. However the level of upset is suggestive of a lack of solution. I have not said that anyone is losing sleep, I have said that adults are upset about it. I understand the annoyance and support the right and the ability to express that, but I don’t see it as a problem that can’t be fixed.

No, the point of making a Lego set is to give you a good Lego set.

Of course you can change it to your liking, but how is that what Lego intends you to do? If they did, they'd just release sets as "brick packs", which have necessary elements to let you build a certain building yourself.

There are excellent sets out there that still get modified because that’s what Lego allows you to do as a medium. Otherwise nothing would get recoloured and put into a new set. I’ll occasionally buy sets for something other than their intended purpose, because with a little bit of playing around they’ll suit a purpose, and they haven’t been made in the theme I usually buy. Lego hasn’t and probably never will make sets of things I’d like, but I don’t sit and grumble that there’s nothing to be done, I set about creating them myself.

There will be people who will be really happy with these sets, and others such as yourselves who already aren’t. Lego can’t satisfy both camps.

Exactly. You're not just paying for the bricks, you're buying the design. If we could all design as well as Marcos Bessa that would be a different story, but most of us can't.

I’d say to a degree you’re also paying for Lego’s collaboration with the owner of the IP. Without that the designer would have nothing to create, and you would have nothing to build.

From memory it's somewhere in the Long Gallery, but on the Transfiguration Courtyard side rather than the greenhouse side.

Due to Covid I haven't seen any of my notes or images in over a year, so I'm not 100% sure!

The fact that you have notes on the location of rooms within Hogwarts makes you a hero in my book!

Haha, it's my magnum opus and took hours to make, just so I could someday complete Hogwarts in Lego.

I would love to see those notes too, I enjoy going into the detail locating all the rooms, stairs etc in the castle :)

The pic bellow is a nice shot of Buckbeak’s flight...

How about a PoA themed castle section, could be called ‘Sirius Black’s rescue’ to be more marketable: includes Buckbeak, Sirius, Hermione, Harry, but also Lupin and some other students and a few Dementors. The interior would be PoA scenes such as Lupin’s Boggart lesson, and his office. Side connecting building is the dark tower/holding cell.

The HP Wiki is an excellent resource for this, especially for where the locations are portrayed in the films.

For instance, if you look up Hogwarts Library, it tells you at the top which section of the castle it is located (in this case, the Training Grounds Tower, on the other side of the courtyard from the Long Gallery). You can follow the link and see what the Training Grounds Tower looks like, and how it’s changed appearance over the films.

That is a great idea because we havent got PoA based Hogwarts section yet. Besides Lupins DADA lesson, there could also be divination lesson with Trelawney.

They already shared their info. And why does it matter that the Marvel thread is ''winning"? This isn't some kind of competition.

It's not about winning, there's just much more to discuss, not to mention that the level of enthusiasm in those 2 themes this year is incomparable.
