THELEGOBATMAN Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Oh, this is unexpected news! Quirrel as a golden minfig is a weird choice. More obvious ones (provided that 4 of those sets are anniversary) would be Malfoy, Snape, Dumbledore and McGonagall. As for Madam Hooch, this must mean another Quidditch set. I was actually really hoping for that, it's been 3 years since we got the last one. With all the Marvek sets we're getting, I'll be getting either one of two smallest August sets, or none at all. I just hope that one of them is not yet another Hogwarts set. Just now, doclord said: Hogsmeade points to them doing at least one set every anniversary wave that is kind of a “normal” set. Still an anniversary set tho, as it includes Golden Ron. It wouldn't really make sense to put up one DH sets under that anniversary line, unless it's the D2C.
Brick Clicker Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Yeah I could see the August $40 set being a Quudditch set from this new info... exciting stuff ahead

The whistle was on the last figure too though. She has it during the Flying lesson and Quidditch Match, but she only has goggles at the match. I quite like the idea of either though :)
MaxHeadroom Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 The issue with a flying lesson set is that it would be based on the exterior of Hogwarts which really isn't the focus with these anniversary sets, I'm personally predicting another quidditch set (I would prefer a castle expansion though, even if it's in the new style). Quirrel is the interesting one though. I think a gold Voldemort is odd enough since he only came in a blind bag which has been out of production for awhile and a single $20 set, I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of kids didn't have a normal Voldemort. Quirrel though was only included in a $100 set which will be gone soon so even fewer kids would have him. I can't imagine them doing a gold one without also rereleasing the standard version. I guess this means we will be getting the full PS/SS challenges which I wouldn't be opposed to (the 2018 mirror looked ok but I wasn't a fan of how it stuck out the back of the half tower which already looked odd on it's own, plus the idea that we were meant to put a figure on the little platform in front of it was rather comical as they would literally smash their face into the mirror).
doclord Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 I was thinking that I really wouldn’t mind a detailed Mirror of Erised build, it would be a good display.

My other speculation, with the odd choice of a Quirrill Gold figure, is that both the Summer and Fall waves focus mostly on the first two movies for the sets. Were any of the rumored sets not from the first two movies? 3 of them for sure were, but can't tell what Hogsmede set would be based on. My guess is that most of the Fall sets will be Philosopher's Stone or Chamber of Secret based sets.

If they give us a Remembrall, I might be willing to forgive them for this transgression So if we are getting more anniversary sets I am quite happy because that means playsets and no brickbuild bias. My hopes for august wave have risen up now. I am actually not in the shock or badly suprised as hints suggested. Now give us Shrieking Shack anniversary set or 2nd task from GoF and I will be fine with this year. 1 hour ago, Cmf6169 said: and there's also a golden quirrel similar to the Ninjago legacy golden figures which has a 20 years LEGO@Harry Potter printing on the back of his torso which I forgot to say in my post😅 hooch has a slightly updated face print with the googles on, and a slightly updated torso print which seems to have a golden whistle. Could you share it by PM? Or is it too much to ask for Anyways thx, we have finaly something new and positive about august sets to discuss :) Edited March 12, 2021 by Textorix

1234567892022 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 If they're only more anniversary sets/remakes, then why would that person have said "hell no" when being asked if they like them? Something doesn't add up.

Something doesn't add up. Well compared to hoping for new DH sets I can understand that reaction for an anniversary quidditch set. Personally surprised and disappointed by a gold Quirrell fig. I guess it's one of the first ever HP minifigs but that doesn't seem to matter when we're getting Voldemort too... I would have preferred Draco, Snape, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Hagrid, Neville, Fred/George... etc. New Quidditch set would make sense given that they're replacing the great hall set in the June wave. Think there's a high chance we get Angelina Johnson as Lego seems to be including more figures based on POC which is nice for a bit of diversity. Would it be too hopeful to suggest that a golden Quirrell might come in a Leaky Cauldron DA expansion set... (I think it would tbh!)
1234567892022 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 OK, I hope that's all, then. I really want GoF Angelina and HBP Katie, too. People have alluded that golden Quirrell will come in the Quidditch set, so I guess it will be based on the PS broom jinxing scene again.

If we're going for more diversity in figs, I'd love to see Zabini, Lee, and Angelina, too. (And then to be really diverse perhaps more of the ghosts... ) Do we have a good dreadlock piece for Lee? I used the Programmer's hair from CMF series 19 for my version, but it isn't quite satisfactory. Edited March 12, 2021 by krimimimi

Alexandrina Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 If it's indeed a Quidditch match set we're getting, then colour me excited. I never got round to getting the 2018 version, partly because of the disappointing figure choice for me personally (the 2010 Quidditch set was the only flesh-toned Harry Potter set I ever got from the previous releases, so having Harry and Malfoy in Quidditch robes and another Oliver Wood appealed far less than sets full of heroes I'd never had). I won't make the same mistake this time. I hope, though, that there's a good selection of minifigures. I don't expect two full Quidditch teams, but having three or four players from each team would be fantastic. Harry is a given, and Malfoy too if it's a Chamber of Secrets set. I can't see how a Quidditch Match set wouldn't include Marcus Flint either, since minor as the rest of his role is, he's the only recognisable face on the Slytherin team in each of the first two films. Any other Slytherins would probably have to be randoms, unless they fancied making a Terrence Higgs. As for Gryffindor, I personally think the Weasleys should be omitted. Maybe not in Quidditch robes, but they're in both a CMF series and a currently-available set, and I'm sure they'll appear again in the future. For the same reason, Oliver Wood (who has already appeared) and Katie Bell (who I feel is an inevitability for a future HBP set) should also be left out. Were I picking minifigures, I'd go for Madame Hooch, Quirrell, Snape, Hermione, Harry, Flint, Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet. If there's room for another fig, add Terrence Higgs. My reasoning is simple: if they get missed out of two Quidditch sets, neither Angelina nor Alicia are ever going to be released in minifigure form. Alicia Spinnet has literally zero contribution off the Quidditch pitch in the films, and Angelina's in about one (insignificant) scene that would never be turned into a set.
Textorix Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Honestly I hope its rather flying lesson with Nevile, Malfoy, Harry and Madam Hoch. Someone asked what would they put into that set, well there is a plenty of Hogwarts buildings around in that scene so I guess they can put there some tower with a wall or a gate next to it.

I just don't know what other set Hooch could come with if not some kind of Quidditch. After looking through the wiki Harry Potter on the character - possible options A buildable Firebolt? D2C Quidditch Field Philosopher's Stone - Quidditch Training Grounds D2C Quidditch World Cup She's part of a Great Hall set with Teacher's Table Set containing Madam Hooch's office Quidditch Accessory Pack (Like the Hogwarts Students Pack) IF not a Quidditch match, I could see the Accessory Pack being a good set Hooch is in. MaxHeadroom Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 People now seem to be under the impression that the full wave will be more minifigure scale anniversary sets which I don't think is the case. The out of order prices and high piece counts make me think something is still going to be off with this wave. Wouldn't be surprised if either first two or second two were minifigure scale and the others were something else.
