Not sure if the leak I just saw of gringotts is real or not.

comes with the white dragon

If it‘s the one I think it is, that‘s just a paper fold-out from a new book  The model they used is from the 2011 set

If it’s the one i have seen on instagram, it’s just a picture from an activity book that was released a while ago, the gringotts on that picture is the one from 2011, just like olivanders and Borgin and brukes (which are on the sides of gringotts)

Honestly I don’t think a golden quirrell is that crazy because even in gold his turban will still make him distinctive. That’s what I think people are missing, in focusing on the characters rather than what makes them distinctive as minifigures. The original minifigures of the trio all had very distinctive hair pieces and even the new reboot Harry and hermione got new hair moulds which make them recognisable. Whereas draco and Neville started out with the most generic hair piece ever created for a minifigure so would not be as recognisable as golden minifigures unless they had very pronounced printing.

that’s what I think was the biggest consideration for the golden minifigures: unique minifigure pieces that make them stand out even without printing (except for Voldemort whose distinctiveness is his lack of hair piece )

It’s definitely the 2011 version with the dragon on top. Weird.

If they're putting images of the 2011 Gringotts in a new book, that probably means we're not getting a new Gringotts this year.

Surely that's a good thing, given what we know of this year. I would rather have no Gringotts this year and wait until 2022 then get Gringotts this year but in such a way that I need to lower my expectations!

Hogwarts moments style Gringotts!!

"Mummy, why is there a giant book at the end of Diagon Alley?"

"You see, Lego made anniversary sets..."

That picture of Gringotts is from a book (as aforementioned) from last year. I have it and I had to buy it in German as it didn't get printed in the UK. You got Harry and Draco figures and then a double-sided, fold-out cardboard stand showing Diagon Alley and Hogwarts. The Diagon Alley side uses the 2011 builds amongst the pictures and doesn't resemble the 2020 set at all. Interestingly, the Hogwarts side features the the forbidden corridor with fluffy, the Chamber of Secrets and Myrtle's bathroom (alongside an illustration of a TERRIBLE Myrtle figure).

What if CoS actually comes with golden Quirrell and not golden Voldy?

Interesting, thanks for the info! Could you share a picture of the Myrtle illustration? Now I'm curious

That's actually quite charming. Reminds me of a mix between this old (pre-film) Harry Potter calendar I had and those sets from the original 2001 line with the cardboard backgrounds.

Nah, not Hogwarts Moment-style Grigotts Banks for me!

Me too. I just had to have it when I saw it! It makes me want a new Lego HP video game or a Lego HP Movie/TV show soooooooo bad.

If they decide to do more video game remakes at some point, HP would absolutely be great! Heck, by then they could include all 3 Fantastic Beasts movies and do dlc for whatever show they end up making.

@BrickFunatic I picked that "book" up, too. I absolutely love the artwork. With the exception of the staircases, library, owlery and Room of Hidden Things, it seems like the castle rooms have all been made into sets.

Speaking of... I'm still hoping we'll get another set the size of the RoR that portrays the RoHT (perhaps with Fiendfyre) that can be used to compliment / complete the set.

@Seaber the caveman hair isn't half bad for dreads, really. (Agreed on the deliberate piece "shaving", though. ) I wonder if it's easier to make a mould if there's a piece that could be "edited"?

Hooray for another Hooch variant, meh everything else. If it’s a set based on the flying lesson then it shouldn’t be that bad.

I’ll miss last year’s set reveal and hype, it got me feeling like old Rose from Titanic “...It’s been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh leaks. 2020 was called the year of LEGO HP, and it was. It really was”...

That's some fun artwork. I like the little details like: Crabbe and Goyle asleep from the spiked cakes, (Dawn French's version of) The Fat Lady with the glass she breaks and the gashes from Sirius' attack and even Sir Cadogan in a couple frames.

What is the book called? Looks cool. Love books that have open layouts like that.

Lego HP was mentioned as one of the best selling themes in 2020 in the live press-conference the other day:thumbup: So I do not think there is any danger they will stop making them anytime soon even if that means a lot of pearl gold figs apparently :hmpf:

So usefully, the name changes from store to store and language to language (not that there are a lot of words involved), but it's one of the Ameet Lego Harry Potter "books". That's usually enough to find them in a store, but then it tends to be either Harry vs. Draco or Potter contra Malfoy, or something similar. In German it was even less useful, "Rätselbox für Zauberschüler", which is why searching for the Ameet books helps. It includes two minifigs and that absolutely beautiful backdrop that folds back and forth and has these little drop down ledges to put your figs on in medias res (bam! you're with Lockhart in the CoS; hopla! you're arguing with the rival quidditch team; ever the gentleman, you've got the door to the RoHT for Luna...), a nice cardboard box to store it in, plus a little booklet of puzzles that was so beside the point I can't recall the contents.

Seriously love the artwork, and agree it really makes me want them to update the video games. (No more Hermione with soccer!mom hair. When she and Molly are sharing, something has gone wrong. (Although the same might be said for Snape, Tonks, Ron and Pettigrew...))

Jjpleaksite on IG made an assumption that Golden Quirell is actually Golden Voldemort. I think it might be, though I really hope it's Voldemort

Yes because golden Voldemort based on his appearance from movies 4-8 wouldnt make sense in these anniversary sets which are all based on mainly 1-2. It has to be PS Voldemort so basically Quirrel with Voldemorts face.
