Well in that case I dont get all those “you will be suprised and in a shock how bad it can get” hints. So far august wave sounds amazing and if D2C set is something similar to DA then I will be happy af. Edited March 13, 2021 by Textorix

Well, it could always be a Diagon Alley Expansion (WITHOUT Gringotts Bank) - like the other side of the street. Still great, and includes other minifigures missing from the Diagon Alley one. Could also be Knockturn Alley. I could also see a great modular-style Grimmauld Place or Malfoy Manor, but with the Dailey Beagle Skyscrapper, I'd be surprised if they make it since non Creator Expert Modular-like buildings may be too similar.

In fairness, all we have confirmed so far about the August wave is two minifigures - which weren't known to the leakers anyway - and possibly a Quidditch students pack with some lacklustre minifigure choices. There's stll a lot we don't know. Just now, Prometheus87 said: Still great, and includes other minifigures missing from the Diagon Alley one. What would be on the other side, though? Other than Gringotts and the Leaky Cauldron, what recognisable buildings have we not had? Harry Potter isn't a powerhouse theme enough to sell a £250 set with buildings too obscure for Joe Public to recognise.

That would definitely save me $250 to spend on other sets. I don't see the World Cup tent being something many of us would be willing to spend that much money on. On the other hand if it were the tent the Weasley's, Harry & Hermione stay in during the world cup that could be interesting but still not worth that much money.

We had Diagon Alley last year, there's a Hogsmeade set in June, we know it's not Quidditch. Take those away and there are only a few options. Gringotts, a motorized Hogwarts express, and a quidditch pitch are the only minifigure scale sets I could see making good D2Cs (even if I wouldn't like 2/3 of them). I think there is significant possibility though that this D2C isn't minifigure scale, especially considering this is HP's 20th anniversary. A brickbuilt nimbus 2000, micro Hogwarts with landscape, and Ford Anglia all seem plausible. Cloud city is an ok comparison but even then cloud city was a circular city made into a circular playset. What shape is would the ministry of magic be? Also if I remember right cloud city wasn't a massive success (and that was a set people had wanted for a decade and a half unlike the ministry which doesn't have as much demand) and I'm not sure LEGO would repeat it. I guess the wave really is terrible or we get a really good D2C.

Harry Potter isn't a powerhouse theme enough to sell a £250 set with buildings too obscure for Joe Public to recognise. If i was designing the set, to make it recognizable, I'd include Leaky Cauldron, Eeylops Owls, Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions. Leaky Cauldron would be the anchor set. However, doubt it'd be this since they are more obscure than Gringotts, Olivanders or WWW. Most likely it'll be something more frustrating and annoying like miniscale or brickbuilt large-scale something. If that's the case, i'd save me money to by something else. LIke @MaxHeadroom, I can't see what else it could be that would be a great must buy.

1234567892022 Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 I think it's so cute that Dumbledore is the first gay Lego character ever made. Someone pointed it out to me today.

That would possibly be my reaction. Part of me would be really pumped for it, since i really like the look of the original one, but as a modern collector, it comes too soon after the Hogwarts set and wouldn't care to spend that much money on it if it looks similar.
