I'm excited we are getting the Pixie's, but how could they miss the mark so bad? LEGO's Sand Blue colour is literally the same colour as the Cornish Pixies in the movies! And there's no indication in the film or book that they are translucent! Lol.

I think they made them transparent due to the wings. A dual-moulded part would not only be way more expensive to produce, it would also be a very tricky thing to accomplish on a technical level due to its miniscule size. I‘d rather have a transparent mould than a solid-coloured one with terrible-looking wings :tongue:

The mold suffers from the very faint ears though. Maybe it looks better in hand, but when the ears gets washed out it doesent look as much like the pixie

The wings are thinner which makes them more translucent than the rest of the body. I think the trans blue gradient looks good. On the pic the body looks more corporeal than the wings which is what they were aiming for. It is tiny (Baby groot size)

There is a new picture which shows the Pixie from the back as well. That we are getting a pixie mould like this at all in a non-CMF setting, means they have definitely increased the budget for the wave and sets. We have multiple new creature moulds (Pixie, Fluffy, Basilisk, ?Fawkes?) in this wave alone, along with the new McGonagall hair piece, Cat hermione and many recolours (golden figures, wands, basilisk, Flitwick beard, window frames)

Oh, just seeing Cornish Pixie. Are we expecting them in Chamber of Secrets sets, aren't we?
Nice fig, but it wouldn't change my prelim rating on that set (8/10).

Hey, but this is a Lockhart triumph :snicker:
- Diagon Alley signing book scene;
- DADA Class with Cornish Pixies;
- Chamber of Secrets scene;

What it's missing?
- Dueling Club scene, but this could be inside the Great Hall in Chamber of Secrets set;
- Quidditch match scene;

There is no guarantee we'll be getting the DADA class version though, and there is also Harry's detention/the discovery of Mrs Norris where he wears a sixth outfit. That's not including the ones in the portraits, the photo of him in Ravenclaw Quidditch robes or the straight jacket in the after credits scene :classic:

I love Lockhart's outfits and hope we get them all, they're all magnificent and in really wonderful varied colours.

I sort of want Duelling Club to be in the Hogwarts set, but that would be three Lockhart varients taken up in one set...

2020 sets(not cmf) had several molds too,   Flyign owl, centaur, rabbit, otter, wand box

Yes, Lockhart is full of outfits :laugh: I haven't considered that in my comment, only remembering movie scenes in which he appears (and I was forgetting petrified Mrs Norris discovering, Harry's detention, Ginny's kidnapping discovering).

Where are you seeing this? It’s not under #legoleaks. I love the new Pixie design. The wings being translucent is a nice touch. I want dozens of these little buggers though. Hope at least one comes in a cheap set.

Yes but far less. The regular sets had only 5 new moulds in total

I'm confused why the ears are B shaped like butterfly wings. Is that just weird depth perception and it's the ears and wings individually?

Also certain poses like the crouched pawns and the sword held by the king would be hard to do with the minifigures. I just dont see how it could be done accurately and worth the price.

If it does turn out to be the chess board, I imagine the pieces will be brick built, not minifigures.

The ears are in front of the wings, they just blend since they're all the same color.

They are moulded individually, but because the piece is transparent, they appear to overlap :laugh:

I think I've said it here before but if they ever do anymore classroom books I'd like to see books for:

Defence Against the Dark Arts: either based on Chamber or Prisoner, can have the dragon skeleton printed on an upper sticker. Then paintings of Lockhart or the cabinet the Boggart's in, pixies or horned skulls, another sticker showing the stairs to the office room. Figs: Lockhart or Lupin, Neville & Dean Thomas.

Divination: Tables, chairs, Crystal balls and teacups, the stickers could be big billowy curtains over windows. Figs: Trelawny, Ron & Parvati Patil.

Care of Magic Creatures: Set outdoors, sticker could show Hagrid's hut in the background, trees in the background, Buckbeak flying overhead. (maybe even some nifflers from Goblet of Fire when they study them, and a campfire). Figs: Hagrid, Draco & Hermione.

Flying/Quidditch: Another more outdoor set, maybe have a broom closet, a play feature to fly a broom up and down. A socket could have the statue Neville gets stuck on. Figs: Madam Hooch, Harry & Seamus. (or Oliver Wood)

These are great ideas. I think they'd also work as normal sets rather than books.

I think, in this case, it would be something between 852293 Castle Giant Chess Set and this old Idea [https://ideas.lego.com/projects/8d10ae8a-dd03-46de-b049-37174f840a62].

The pixie is okay, but nothing to write home about. The wings oddly look like part of its head from the front. The antennae are a bit stubby and don't match the shape from the films as well as they could have. And the colour doesn't look right either. Probably should have been sand blue? Is that the colour I'm thinking of?

Did I say it was "okay?" Lol. Reading this over it sounds like I absolutely hate it, but it's really not that bad.

Hope it comes with Quirrel in brown robe.

But damn, 250$ is expensive

lego_fulcrum just basically confirmed that the D2C will be the chess set from Philosopher's Stone

Just saw that so is that a definite confirmation? As in chess set only, no other side builds

What I’m wondering is: are those variants of the trio going to be included? I hope so, especially since I have doubts about them being scene accurate in the Fluffy set
