Harry and Hermione?

I guess TLG didn't learn anything from that JK Rowling/Emma Watson interview fiasco.

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a pitchfork?

It’s not deathly hallows. I meant the characters in the picture not the movie they are from

Phew  If that was our DH representation for this year, I would've been real mad  But still, how can that even work? They've never done buildable human figures before, and for good reason. Must be hyper-stylised I assume?

So to sum up:

76391 Hogwarts Chess Set D2C ($250) - may connect to 2021 Hogwarts expansions

76392 Fawkes ($60) - buildable Fawkes

76393 Buildable Harry and Hermione ($130) - includes buildable figures of Harry and Hermione

76394 Unknown ($40)

76395 ?Quidditch? ($30) - possibly includes Madam Hooch

I agree with this. Both 2018 and 2019 had a small, two set second wave in August, so I don't see why 2021 couldn't have two small minifig-scale sets in addition to the brickbuilt stuff.

Also, again, @Guyon2002 soft-confirmed that 76395 is a Quidditch Class playset. If the $30 is minifig-scale, I think it's more likely that 7y394 is as well than it is that we have a wave of brickbuilds with one lone random playset.

Did i misread somwhere on a leak that 72394 is a vehicle? Was this already debunked? I can't recall with so many leaks and pseudo-leaks?

Won't the buildable figures resemble what Retro brick Reviewers accurately predicted?

So, the $120 set isn't a minifig-scale set. It's also not quite a brickbuilt creature or bust. It's probably also not a brickbuilt Sword of Gryffindor, since that's not a feasible LEGO set, or a brickbuilt Sorting Hat, since that would look awful.

Here's my prediction.

So, back in 2001, LEGO did a giveaway at ToysRUs stores where the grand prize was a large brickbuilt statue of a minifigure Harry Potter (image above).

Okay, so @Falconfan1414 just posted on Insta an image of Harry and Hermione from DH2 for 76393, with the caption "I didn't choose this picture by accident."

This fits perfectly into LEGO’s new “build together” marketing strategy. Buy some sets that you can build with the kids while enjoying nostalgic moments. Then buy a set that you and your partner can build together over a bottle of wine. You build one figure and your partner builds the other! I wonder if Harry and Hermione will look like giant mini figs or if LEGO will attempt to make them look realistic. I would much prefer big minifigs...

And if it doesn't improve next year, you also get to enjoy some delicious finger food, so you have at least that to look forward to

Oh I won't have anything to eat, I'll be too busy building my Deathly Hallows sets :moar:

Oh golly, with all of Ms. Rowling's recent comments both on the Wizarding World and on real matters, I forgot that she also fundamentally misunderstands the characters and relationships she created.

But yeah. First LEGO Dimensions, and now this. This LEGO Ron erasure is very unfortunate.

I really want to drink wine or beer while making the Leaky Cauldron. I want the ironic building together! Or just make a Guinness Factory set. Boom. Lego Becomes biggest profitable company on Earth.

You are absolutely right! Just like the chamber of secrets has 2 buildings (the great hall and the weird tower) and hogsmead comes with 2 buildings) this defintly seems like their strategy

Wow this is absolutely atrocious, was honestly hoping for some more Anniversary sets but this...this is just straight up awful. I do hope we get some more anniversary style Hogwarts Extensions because having just these two would be a let down to the original 2001 castle. Fingers crossed there’s a store exclusive like the Knight Bus and Hogwarts Express, fingers crossed

Deathly Hallows is completely ignored this year in favor of Harry Potter anniversary. As this is the themes first "bad wave" (akin to Spider-man and Batman vehicles) there is some aftershock.

I mean... Gringotts plus (other) DH scenes sounds very likely for next year. Makes sense they would gate Gringotts behind DH so they can incorporate the dragon and bump up the price.

You were right @Guyon2002 the august wave is f-ing terrible

I mean as much as I don't like the Fawkes set idea atleast it makes sense since we got the Hedwig set last year. But the Harry and Hermione set is just.....why just why Lego? :hmpf_bad:

Good Lord, what were they thinking with this wave?

I hope next year we get an $800 D2C Harry's head! No body, just his head. :laugh_hard:

I can't believe I set aside so much money this year specifically for Lego Harry Potter lol. I'd buy some Star Wars instead, but their lineup this year isn't really my cup of tea either.

Cor blimey.

Honestly I’m kind of glad to get some breathing room to slow down on my Lego buying, I’ve gone from barely buying the 2018 stuff (even now my 2010 Hogwarts is still one of my favourite sets) to spending hundreds of pounds on Harry Potter over the course of a year-long lockdown. I’ll pick up the Hogwarts sets for this year, probably Hogsmede and catch up up on Privet Drive once it dips below £50 on sale and thank the Lego gods for not assaulting my wallet with a Gringotts set right on the heels of the Diagon Alley

Also @Roonil Wazlib I get how you feel about Star Wars, spaceships just don’t cut it for me anymore. I’ve been quite enjoying the Ninjago dragons with moulded heads and if I get enough vip points I’ll probably be getting the medieval forge too

I really think it has something to do with sales of Baby Yoda's character, combined with probably overall sale increases across the board. My guess is character sets were higher than others, hence the sudden shift to this. Only a guess though.

Wait... Two years of great, fun sets that bring out childhood nostalgia, followed by a year of visually stunning sets and mostly perfect choices (albeit a couple of odd directorial decisions), and then one year that 90% of everyone can agree is absolute trash...

Wow, it's just like the first four Harry Potter movies. (Albeit, now I'm in the 10% still excited for these sets.)

Nothing about this wave makes any sense, it's the most random mishmash of half-baked ideas I've ever seen :laugh_hard: Looks like they had a brainstorming session for what they could do this year and just decided to realise ALL of it
