The thing is, if we knew DH sets, Gringotts, and other minifigure/quality build sets were coming, then I think the fact that Lego is indulging so much in the theme, doing products that far exceed the basic required, would be a cause for celebration as HP fans. A lot of these sets actually sound like they will look great on display even of they are not our first choices. But at the end of a year which I think has made a lot of us rearrange priorities and appreciate the phrase 'Carpe diem' even more than some may already, to the get a line which suggests Lego is heavily invested in the theme but we will have to wait to get everything we really want, feels rather jarring and mistimed. I just hope next year they don't forget what really brought this theme back to life and got everyone so enthusiastic about it. It does sound like Lego is investing much MORE into the theme. I thought I read that for 2021, they added an extra wave, and therefore basically made an Anniversary Wave as the "established" sets for the year to bring a celebration to the theme and then some experimental sets with the extra money for the theme. Even more positively, IF there is a Gringott's bank coming, they now have extra time and maybe more resources to make it fantastic!
Retro Brick Reviews Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 @Falconfan1414 just posted on his Insta story that he imagines 76393 will be two brickbuilt minifigs. While this certainly isn't confirmation, this does make more sense than two weird new-style figures. And this would make me a seer. I was originally going to make a low-effort meme if this eventuality came to pass, but it was so soon that I just made a low-effort sigfig variant instead. Enjoy.
Falconfan1414 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I wonder how this wave will be remembered, or if it will feel forgotten in the long run
chris6507 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 (edited) So... Harry and Hermione brick built??? I can't be the only one picturing the Horcrux scene with a large brick built Harry and Hermione making out in front of minifigure Ron right? 4 minutes ago, Falconfan1414 said: I wonder how this wave will be remembered, or if it will feel forgotten in the long run I'm sure it will be the most memorable wave of the entire franchise. Just like how much a tiny pebble stands out when it's in your shoe. I'm honestly very, very happy though as I haven't missed a single minfigure scale set this whole theme and I was really anxious as to how I was going to try and afford all the sets when the original price list was leaked. Guess its all a little more for people with disposable income whilst being a reprieve for those without. Edited March 23, 2021 by chris6507

Retro Brick Reviews Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I was just thinking... Diagon Alley included that neat display plaque with an iconic quote from the movie and two fitting minifigures, is it possible that the same could be in this set? Asking because an official LEGO tile printed with "That's TotALLy bARbaRIc", "That's Wizard's Chess" would take this from a cool set idea I'll probably pick up to a day one purchase. I'm only half joking about that.
Fenghuang0296 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Are the rumours about buildable Fawkes confirmed? Because I would absolutely get that! Fawkes is great!

ToaDraco Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 (edited) Brick built Harry and Hermione is utterly bizarre and certainly an easy pass. A brick-built Fawkes like Hedwig sounds awesome though! The wizard chess set sounds pretty cool to me but is not something I'm willing to spend $250 on. I think if this released in a universally-praised wave, people would feel differently about this inclusion. Honestly, for me most of the sets this year are pretty fantastic. I i know the lack of DH sets sucks but if I'm being totally honest, I vastly prefer the first 4 films and am happy to see remakes of some of the original HP sets as they're pretty nostalgic for me and I especially regret missing out on the Chamber of Secrets. I'm still curious where the pixies come from, do we know? Is it with the Chamber of Secrets section of Hogwarts? Could we be getting a defense against the dark arts moments book set? Edited March 23, 2021 by ToaDraco
BenderBrau Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 For that price Fawkes had better have healing tears Alright, I know it's not the most egregious price, but I assumed he'd be in the same price range as Hedwig. Although it is a rather large bird, so what do I know. Buildable Harry and Hermione - seriously? It would have to be an animatronic of them dancing in the tent for me to be interested, but I know that DH has been ruled out. And why exclude Ron? I'm completely baffled, maybe they'll look decent enough, but still it's the easiest skip of the entire theme.
sebastian666 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I don’t want to jump the gun here - but when the images of the Chamber of Secrets set first leaked I posted a comment about a translucent bar connected to the Staircase Tower section that looked like something was meant to be attached to it... My theory was that the missing something was an open-winged Fawkes figure. Now that we have confirmed that a brick-built Fawkes will be part of this new wave of sets, I think we are all but guaranteed to get this open-winged Fawkes figure. Much like how the brick-built Hedwig set came with the new open-winged Hedwig figure. If this is the case, and an open-winged Fawkes is on its way along with that beautiful Basilisk build - this wave just got a whole lot better in my eyes.

Also hearing opinions of non LEGO collectors like us from family and friends people last year loved the hedwig set. So just goes to show that there is a market for the different ideas even tho maybe the hardcore LEGO fans don’t like them. Me to I am sure most of the sets will look great, and if you look at e.g. HP YouTube'ers they have a lot of big replicas of props in the background so I am sure a lot of non Lego fans would love a lot in the second summer wave 4 hours ago, sebastian666 said: I don’t want to jump the gun here - but when the images of the Chamber of Secrets set first leaked I posted a comment about a translucent bar connected to the Staircase Tower section that looked like something was meant to be attached to it... Tariq j Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Whilst I'm not too interested in the buildable figures the Chess Set actually sounds quite interesting. Though frsutratingly it is also the most expensive if the lot .

Flixter Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Well where else she could be? And she has same outfit as in the flying lesson, so I'm 95% sure it's flying lesson

???theriddler??? Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Well, this is going to be an cheap year for me, which I like. I love all these Harry Potter sets, and I want them all, except for the non-minifigure ones. If it's just gonna be a chess board, it's gonna be a nope for me. If it's going to be an actual extention, then yes. But I don't see how this can be a $250 price with just an extention. Well thats about 300 euro for me this year. Cool. I love all the anniversary sets though.
lego_guyon02 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Just because Hooch is in the set doesn't necessarily mean it's a flying lesson set.
