A few questions:

Will the chess set still have a couple of other areas and attach to Hogwarts?

How was there this kind of an info mixup?
What store will have it?

Given the piece count, it makes sense for it to easily connect to the other Anniversary Modulars. I kept wondering HOW that was going to be the case with such an expensive set.

Falconfan said that it will be an addition to Hogwarts, I don't think he was wrong here.

Me too. This makes much more sense.

There must be some representation of Devil's snare, the Chamber of Winged Keys and the final challenge chamber somewhere, though, right? :def_shrug:

Got to be surely? Would be very odd the have the Fluffy set (which may have the devil's snare) and then this, but nothing at the end. Even if they miss out the Chamber of Winged Keys, missing out the end chamber would make the 'challenge' pointless for kids and roleplay.

Keep in mind it's only a $60 set, there isn't much wiggle room for anything beyond the chess board and the giant pieces themselves

Well actually, there might be if it still has the rumored 876 piece count. Though I would be disappointed if it took that route I can see the "chess set" becoming the chess set with 6 game pieces and a few other challenges to.

I would much prefer the Gringotts set to be PS/SS themed instead of DH, so they can focus on the build itself.

The Ironbelly deserves its own set.

Remember in the giant Hogwarts you can take it apart and see the devil's snare inside?

Love that little feature. :classic: They also didn't forget the Winged Keys or end chamber in that version even at tiny scale so Lego definitely knows they exist (no excuse to ignore them now Lego haha).

Retail exclusive - so only available from Lego and, say John Lewis (UK)?

This isn't bad news at all.

I reckon Devil's Snare is in the Forbidden Corridor set beneath the trapdoor. Winged Keys would take up barely any parts as only a suggestion is needed, it's by far the least structural. As such I wouldn't bet against it being included in the chess set. I doubt the Final Challenge will be though

Oh wow, that was certainly a huge plot twist. So let the speculation for the D2C begin yet again, Dobby Sock anyone?

I much prefer that the chess is a $60, now it may actually turn out to be great. Fawkes will also work much better as a $40 set.

So that leaves the $30 set being Quidditch related and including Madam Hooch. Can anyone confirm if it's more buildable stuff or an actual playset?

Smyths usually has the exclusive in the UK (like the Burrow).

It's been strongly suggested it's a buildable item (possible a Remembrall).

You're right, not John Lewis as I said

Hmmm. Is that a hint, a statement, or both?

Just a statement. We've been getting something for the last few days so it wouldn't surprise me if we get something new tomorrow as well.
