Hate to play devil's advocate but is that actual proof? Lego has stuck background images behind sets which aren't necessarily the correct location before?

Yep Snape should be in the chess set. Like I've said before they've done a great job with the chess set and people will be suprised with what they've achieved for $60

So that means Quirrel is definitely in the Quidditch set... Do you know what that set is? Would you mind giving us a hint :laugh_hard:

Erm I guess it's a Harry Potter set :wink::laugh_hard:

Can I ask more experienced watchers if the recent insta post from Brick.sp on legoleaks/legoHarryPotter with LEGO watermarks looks legit? Some backgrounds look odd, I don’t know enough to know whether to read that as leaked-from-brochure-editing or forgery. I feel like I see multiple watermarks. Thanks. Can’t wait to see the chess set.

These are preliminiary pictures that got leaked in February through an Italian retailer and have been around for a few weeks. They are legit, but they do not show 100 % finalized products (mainly the minifigs and some part recolours).

Super excited for the Chess set. I'm interested to see whether the squares are built from multiple tiles like in older sets, or if they've introduced a 4x4 jumper or some equivalent to streamline the build and leave many more parts to go into the chess pieces themselves. Combine that with Golden Snape, and hopefully some accurate variances on Harry and Ron (Harry needs a tear in his sweater, and Ron should get a new face with an unconscious/"sleeping" alt), and this might end up being my favorite Anniversary set.

Oh, I just love this Lego series. Especially my beloved Snape. He's just adorable. Only Bellatrix is not in my collection yet, but soon she will be.

You actually prefer hp266 to hp100, say? (I still haven’t quite forgiven them for the lack of a cape.)

Ron looks like he's standing in front of the Educational decrees from the OoP and Hermione I've no idea :shrug_oh_well:

I thought Ron was in front of windows like some of the ones from DA? (So likely a. Hogsmeade store, as expected.) Hermione is on stairs with what appears to be a window in the castle’s walls (and a night sky) behind her.

I've just had a look at the leaked images of this year's sets and I'm wondering who the figure on the tower in the CS set is? I mean the one next to the white owl. Is it supposed to be Trelawney? Maybe you've already discussed this, but I haven't read all of the comments on the last 258 pages, so apologies if this is already well-known to everyone but me!

It's Professor Sinistra. Her minifigure was leaked a while back and confirmed by a reliable source on here. :classic:

Am I the only one who doesn't like any of the new sets except for Hogsmeade? I understand the style they went for in these new sets, but it just misses the mark in my opinion. Figs are cool in every set, but Hogsmeade is the only build that interests me.

I just saw a picture of the new Hogwarts castle, at least I think I did since Instagram auto-refreshed and I can’t find it now.

If it's the same one I'm seeing, brown table & gray background that's just somebody's modification of the older castle 4842.  The old leaked photos of the new sets have a confidential watermark on them.

I wonder if the picture of the six golden figures are cropped from the actual boxes. They seem to be placed on the bottom right corner of the boxes.

That was definitely my assumption as well.

Nope, you’re in excellent company. The prelims hit mid-February (the 17th), and I think we spent about 50 pages by and large doing little more than expressing our disappointment with the new style. That said, personally I also like the Polyjuice incident / 3rd Floor Lavatory set, and I agree, the minifig selection appears to be pretty good as a whole. (Plus basilisk, Fluffy, and probably a new Fawkes.)

In retrospect, I’m glad for the prelims. It’s given me time to adjust to the idea of the new sets, and by the time we get good pictures of the interiors, I’m sure I’ll be impressed with many of the details included. I generally am with this series.

No way, they wouldn't show those minfigures form this angle with stands.

Ah, thanks a lot, I'd never have recognized such a rather obscure character from the Wizarding World.

Nah, you are not alone. In fact, i do not like most of these sets this year. Except for Hogmeade. Once it was leaked/confirmed, it caught my attention right away. I will gladly skip other June HP sets.

Is anyone actually excited about the builds of the upcoming minifigure scale sets? Or planning to add them to their Hogwarts displays?

I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the interiors but I have the feeling that I’m going to end up taking the best bits out of the new sets and incorporating them elsewhere in my set up. This is not preferable as I don’t like modifying anything in the new sets (the one exception being swapping out some of the infamous white door frames in the astronomy tower).

I don’t mind the colour scheme with the sand green roofs, in fact I have a mix of sand green and dark bluish grey roofs already. It’s more the lack of screen accuracy and the blocky nature of the builds that I don’t think will work too well. But having said all that I’m really looking forward to the sets regardless, the minifigures and creatures are fantastic additions and there will definitely be other parts of the build that are great too (e.g. lectern, DADA class etc).

Hogsmeade is the exception, it will go straight on the shelf!

No you are not. Hogsmeade is like something completely standalone in my eyes almost as if it was from 2018-2020 line. The minifigures in these sets are one of the best I have seen (in terms of their selection) but the Hogwarts building are just lacking details and are too blocky so this wave is really bittersweet for me.

I am not excited about their builds but I will try to connect Forbidden Corridor and Bathroom set to 2018-2020 layout but COS will definetly go for parts because there is no way I can use it for my display, well maybe except its rock foundation.

I'll build all of them but aside from Hogsmeade I'll disassemble them soon after. I'd much rather use the parts from the 3 Hogwarts sets to build upon my existing castle than display them in/alongside it and making it look ugly and disjointed. I guess that's the one thing I really like about how crappy these builds are, they've given me new incentive to improve upon the castle I already have :shrug_oh_well:

The only thing in these june Hogwarts sets that is somehow screen accurate is Great Hall building, everything else is just random.

Yeah I'm excited to build the CoS set, but like all the HP stuff it'll get broken up for parts at some point. I really like the look of the tall tower even though it doesn't look like a part of Hogwarts. I'm also looking forward to the bathroom set, but the Forbidden Corridor is kind of like the Star Wars Rancor set - it's so much about the creature the build is less interesting.

As you say, Hogsmeade is the best looking of the bunch :)
