Funny thing is, almost nobody complains about the existence of the helmet/head sets or the upcoming Infinity Gauntlet because there’s so many regular sets to balance things out (insert Thanos balancing meme yada yada). If we got 2-3 more regular sets on top of what we have now, people would have been less disappointed I think. I know I would’ve

I personally don't have a problem with sets like these but when they come in large numbers and take up an entire wave and a D2C? Hell no.

I know I would’ve Just my thoughts... but I think they should have just done what they did with Hedwig and insert one or two "different" sets in along with the others. This satisfies all parties, rather than having playsets and then whatever all this other stuff is.

Thanks, but you don’t have to I’ll still gladly buy the sets since they’re surely well-designed. Have you really known about a lot of these sets since September last year (read something in an earlier reply)? That's an insane amount of time to have to try and keep it to yourself! Can't have been easy!

I shall be happy for you then!!! I'm happy on the saving money front, but still would have been nice to have some excitement spread out a little more.

I'm a bit worried some of these weird sets might have some awesome figures plonked in. For my own sake, hoping nothing to amazing in the more expensive sets. Although I do realise that's a little selfish... but can't help it! To be honest... I think i'll be quite happy with the golden trio. Don't think I need to get everyone. Ninjago was a bit rough as it was kind of either all the ninja or none of the ninja. I didn't want the sets and they're really expensive on bricklink. But I know i'm getting the sets with the golden trio and that will be enough for a little anniversary display. Edited April 10, 2021 by chris6507
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Let’s compare, shall we? Star Wars: 15 playsets, 2 helmets, 2 droids, 2 UCS sets Mavel: 26 playsets, 2 helmets/heads, 1 gauntlet, 1 D2C playset Harry Potter: 4 playsets, 1 chess set, 4 gimmick sets, 4 brick-built creatures/characters/objects (including D2C) I think you can’t fault HP fans for being disappointed

The fact that you can use it to play chess doesn't change anything, it's an accurate movie location based on a scene from PS. Also, as of now we know nothing about the Quidditch set - it could be anything.

I don't think ruling something out entirely before you even see pictures is a good idea, personally.
BacktoBricks Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 14 minutes ago, Brick Clicker said: Out of curiosity who is actually considering getting the $250 set now we know what it will be based around? To say I haven't considered it would be a lie; I swing between wanting to be a completionist with this theme to then on the other hand thinking that now it is clear that Lego is sticking with HP for a decent length of time and including many non-minifigure / brickbuilt sets in the mix that there is no point collecting sets that I don't really love just so I can say to myself 'I have all the HP sets'. They maybe enjoyable enough to pass time building, but then they would end up dismantled in boxes taking up space andbeing enjoyed by no one. Does being able to say to myself that 'I have all the HP sets' matter that much? Absolutely not, especially when I really don't like Brickheadz even more than I'm not keen on brickbuilt objects. When collecting becomes a chore then something is wrong. Then of course there's the money factor, which is a big factor. I can't say I'm keen on the prospect of spending approx £100 on the new main castle section, but I probably will because I want the figures and then the build I may sell on, but spending around £300 + on brick built objects / creatures this wave is something I'm definitely not willing to do. So I'm more like @chris6507 now and will probably say no to more than I say yes to.
Falconfan1414 Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 (edited) I’m surprised people are not much more angry about this Edited April 10, 2021 by Falconfan1414
Childe_Roland Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 With the new D2C news, I can say I'm fine with this. I have no interest in strictly brickbuildt objects, so it'll be a weight off my wallet. I just hope none of it is Minifigure scale ans/or locations of any kind so it remains an easy pass.

Sorry, misread your statement. Think "got" was supposed to be "not". I think because its an obvious think people dont want, they can be happy to save money. When its a mediocre set that they kind of want, but not great its more salty because they are forking out money for something they arent that satisfied with. Edited April 10, 2021 by chris6507

Correct me if I'm wrong @Falconfan1414, but I think it was meant to say 'I'm surprised people are not much more angry than this'. As in, we have all been pretty chill about it. I think we're all just resigned to what's coming this year and hoping for better in 2022.

I realised after i wrote my first statement I had read it wrong. But what i had said about our reaction was true so i just left it. Basically i think there are two things that make people happy... One is an amazing set with amazing figures and two is an easy pass. If you start to move anywhere within that spectrum is when people start getting cranky.

Wait and see what it looks like exactly, but most likely put the money towards other sets I want and just bricklink any Gold minifigure from this set.
