overall Diagon alley has pretty much lost its worth in terms of Minifigures (quote me if I got something wrong)most people bought it thinking that most minifigs will stay exclusive

note: I didn't count exclusive Hogwarts robes, they are all pretty similar

I will correct you a bit. First of all there are still both Daily Prophet photographer and Florean as exclusive characters in DA set. Secondly its true that we have/are getting cheaper but different versions of characters like Lockhart, Ginny, Molly, Fred and George but that doesnt mean these minifigures lost any value (in eyes of minifigure completionist like me) because their variants in DA are still exclusive. In the end it also wouldnt matter anyways because Diagon Alley set was never about great minifigures but mainly about that georgeous build which is the best thing about that set. Also I dont believe Harry from silencio suprise box will be in advent calendar, I know its been rumored by multiple leakers but I feel like Lego wouldnt do that.

Out of curiosity, what June figs is everyone looking forward to seeing most?

Madam Rosmerta, Sinestra, Mrs. and Mr. Flume - because I love obscure and rare characters and I am also looking forward to new Lockhart, Dumbledore and Cat Hermione. Honestly the minifigures for this wave are so great that I might buy all these sets even though I dont like most of them :D

Honestly I’m more excited to see the builds than I am any more leaked figures.

I’m most excited to see the Hogsmede shops in hd, the Chamber interior and the build for the chess pieces

Harry and Ron as Crabbe and Goyle, Lockhart, Dumbledore (possibly new?), Harry in his red sweater

Oh, and Justin and Creevy

I agree with you, yes we are getting cheaper but different versions, but I'm comparing how the Diagon alley minifigs stand up to the summer sets, ex: the Lockheart in DA his robes are purple while in the June sets his robes are orange robes, I'm basically saying how these Minifigures have lost their specialness from being in a 400$ D2C that will be available for maybe 3 years to a Minifigure that you can get a different version of the same character in a 120$ set that is available worldwide.

overall I'm not trying to come after you or anything but I'm trying to clarify that the DA minifigs have semi-lost their specialness from 400 $ set to a 120$, though I know that most people bought the set for the amazing build and not just the Minifigures

Actually Harry in the new wave will have a bit different torso. Under his robe jumper will be seen, while in DA set robe is fully closed. Not really big difference though

Ah good point, but yeah as @living_off_lego said, it's re-used amongst the trio in that set so I don't really count it as exclusive

I need help

my aunt has tasked me on getting my 10-year-old cousin something for his birthday, he's into lego and has been reading harry potter over quarantine (my aunt says he's been enjoying it and that he's on prisoner of Azkaban) so far he's grown a collection over the last 2 years of Ninjago and city. my aunt says that I've got 100$ to go towards it. I've been trying to get my hands on the great hall over the past week but its out of stock on amazon in my area and lego shop at home takes 2-3 weeks to get here and I need it by Wednesday because the great hall is out of the question I don't know what to get him, any help is welcome, thanks.

edit: he's only on the 3rd book

Holy crap, I wish my parents bought me $100 Lego sets when I was 10. Anyway I’d probably go with either The Burrow or Astronomy Tower, they should be fairly easy to get your hands on

I’d say if you can’t get the Great Hall, get the Burrow. The AT definitely looks good, but without another part of Hogwarts or a great love of HBP, it would be a little odd.

I don't know where you live but have you tried Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble for the Great Hall?

I'd say go with Hagrid's Hut or the Hogwarts Express and then get another smaller set alongside it, either HP or Ninjago/City.

thanks, ill probably do this or what @RaichuKing263 said and get him the astronomy tower, but then again he's only on the third book :shrug_oh_well:

@living_off_lego, I agree, I'd have tried for the Great Hall, but in its absence the Whomping Willow set is a CoS set with a lot of memorable scenes, and then you could still afford a second set like the PoA Knight Bus. WW is not an iconic build, though, but I'm not sure if that matters to you? Other than that, the Clock Tower will probably retire before the Astronomy Tower, and is GoF orientated (the next book in the series), whereas the AT is a HBP set. If you can get in on sale or at least take advantage of the double VIP points, they're could even be enough to pick up a smaller set as well.

ETA: Just checked and Target still had GH available online

And Walmart is showing it's in stock and free 2 day delivery

I tried to choose sets based on 1. $100 Budget, 2. Third book and earlier, 3. Iconic and recognisable from the books without having to have seen the film.

From this I was thinking Knight Bus, Hedwig and Expecto Patronum.

However, I do think the burrow set is pretty ace and recognisable even if you haven't seen the movie the set is specifically based on.

Dumbledore

Not wanting to question your choice, but totally questioning your choice here: why? Isn‘t it mostly likely just the CMF S2 version, but with the 2018 hairpiece in white? :purrr: Or is that why you‘re particularly looking forward to it?

The 2018 hairpiece in white would be more than enough reason to be excited for the new figure imo. I've always really liked Michael Gambon's Dumbledore but as I change all my sets and figures to be closer to the books/my own imagination I would love to be able to make all the Gambon figures look more like Richard Harris' version, which I find to be closer to the books.

Mine are Lockhart, Crabbe, and Goyle :classic: Not sharing the enthusiasm for Justin though  He's most likely going to have a very common hairpiece, and the same goes for his face print (unless they give him a petrified expression, but not counting on that)

It's the potential Hufflepuff robe that matters

JFF and Lockhart torsos, Sinistra full figure, bathroom set figures heads and hair.

Keep forgetting we have a new Dumbledore coming, doesn't make my top figure/minifigure parts though.

Well the question was which minifigs we’re most excited to see, not necessarily which ones we’re most excited to have. I’m excited to see Dumbledore mostly out of curiosity toward what robes he’ll have, how different or not it is from past versions, and to see if he has that hair piece in white which would be pretty exciting

Off-topic but one of my dad's teachers in college is/was married to one of the Dumbledore's

i get what youre saying but not having to buy the d2c and the fawkes is a huge relief. I just hope that they will do the DH sets and then be done with the theme so I can have a full set and dont have to spend money on pointless rereleases

Just wanted to say Forza Juve, Fino Alla Fine

Just deflating another stupid fake rumour before it gets any traction: that Gringotts escape set reported by a nobody on IG is obviously not going to happen :laugh_hard: They couldn‘t even be bothered to come up with a set number that makes any sort of sense
