The comparison was more on a conceptual level I think, not visually  At that price point, I expect larger and/or more detailed builds

Yes of course, a D2C will definitely be much more complex than that set.

Nah, we just knew theset name - Hogwarts Icons Collection.

This is the first time someone actually confirmed what the set itself will look like.

No offense but KA1's post is not a higher level of confirmation than we had previously (oral rumour). We should try to be more precise with our language. A picture of the confidential box art or a detailed description of the actual objects via a Lego product text leak from lego.com or a retail website would be "confirmation". Another oral rumour and a comparison to a 50 $ Friends set in another post here on the forum is not a "confirmation".

This is what 41346 looks like:

tn_41346_alt2_jpg.jpg

The HP D2C with a rumoured 250 $ price point will most definitely not look like that. And it is highly unlikely that we will get Hermione's favourite robot, Colin Creevey's camera, Myron Wagtail's microphone and the walkie talkies Fred and George used all the time. Even if he/she is saying the scale of the objects is similar, we would get a lot of objects at 250 $ or most likely larger and more detailed objects. So what is this comparison actually confirming? If you like the Friends robot, you will like the HP one, too?

For the confirmation part, of course it's still a rumour. I meant confirmation in context if leak community (if that makes sense to you). More in terms of not just knowing a set name, but someone giving us a vague idea of what the set itself will look like.

As for the comparison, I think me and you interpreted it much differently.

Of course a $250 D2C set won't look like a $50 Friends set, that is pretty obvious. You're interpreting it too seriously, KA1 didn't mean that the builds will be the same :laugh_hard:

KA1 also wasn't obviously talking about the scale, as again, this set is 5 times bigger. The only confirmation we were given was that this det will include multiple buildable objects, just like the Friends set. Sizes? Quantity? Unknown.

Since this is a Lego exclusive for the next 6 to 12 months, wouldn't the initial source along the leak chain kind of have to be similar (Lego employee, Marketing/IP team member from WB)? And if I read it correctly, KA1 never alluded to a different or new source in his original post?

Because besides the IP holder (WB), Lego employees and their subcontractors, that print the boxes and manuals, who could have seen the set by now, if it releases in October? Factory leaks are only possible for minifigs or unique printed parts really. Just a reddish brown brick among thousands can't be assigned to a particular set or design during the production. Aren't you reading more into a post, that is a simple reiteration of the previous rumour and offers no new valuable information, as you admit yourself? It could be a different employee, but KA1 wouldn't know which source Falconfan and Guyon had exactly, unless they are exchanging this information freely in the "leaker community". If they did, they wouldn't really protect their source by exchanging the name freely on some DM services like Discord etc. (only one black sheep and the source would face serious consequences).

So can you maybe explain how you derive the information, that this is a new confirmation in the context of the "leak community" from KA1's words? I am seriously interested

We don't actually know the release date (could be October tho, but it also could be not).

Well it's simple. We knew the name "Hogwarts Icons Collection", and we knew that it would have something to do with buildable objects. It was pretty easy to speculate how it would look like, but it was just speculation. Now we actually know that this will be a pack of random (or maybe not?) buildable objects.

Nothing big, maybe I exaggerated it a little bit. It's just good to hear what set it will be similar to.

Does anybody know if the Chamber of Secrets set has been delayed until August by Lego for every other retailer except their own stores? I read different reports now but I think it's officially delayed in Europe. It's a stupid move imo.

It's not.

It's already available in a store near me, and other have them listed as June 1st (I live in Europe).

That was just a rumour that came out of nowhere - it's not delayed.

That’s good to hear, I’ve been a little concerned since for the US, June is already pretty dry as far as lego is concerned this year.

I just though I would ask, just in case there were any other people who lived in Melbourne (Australia not Florida). Have you seen any sightings of the new sets. I know last year they came out a couple of days before June 1st, so if anyone does see anything  let me know. I was also wondering if anyone knew what the ‘select retailers’ are for Australia. I want to avoid going to chadstone at any cost, so if it K mart or Big W that would be great.

thanks

No sign yet. Kmart started putting out the new friends sets so they are getting in new stuff. Once kmart lists the harry potter stuff as coming soon they can appear in store before the web site but they are usually never my kmarts until a few days later. With the lockdown coming today you might have to click and collect so hopefully saturday might be the earliest.

It's not a Europe wide issue. From what I understand it's a local German issue. I haven't seen any reports of delays in the Netherlands, just Germany.

Are you saying I'm going to have to buy a bunch of not-so-iconic buildable items just to get some exclusive figures?

*oh2*

I was under the impression a golden minifig (Dumbledoro or Dragold) was all we could hope for, but this sounds intriguing  Expecting any new characters would be silly, so I’d be satisfied with some interesting new variants at least

Well, it is for sale in my country, though it'll ship out on June 1st.

Definitely delayed in Germany. Not even available via Amazon(.de) proper, you have to resort to marketplace dealers, all of whom have a later shipping date and seriously inflated prices, presumably because they're ordering the sets from other countries. (I just checked, they're in Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. Only one is in Germany, and they're charging 193 EUR (MRP is 140) and shipping a week after release, so clearly importing from elsewhere.)

The regular toy shops (including Smyths) seem to all have August shipping dates now. There are a few electronics stores that sell lego for whatever reasons that still have 01. June listed as the probable shipping date, but also asterisk it that the shipping date is whatever the release date is. Typically they're less informed about their toy inventory and have no issue delaying shipping with little notice if they need to. So I'm going with "most likely delayed here everywhere but at lego.com or from foreign imports."

Happy if you lot aren't also facing the same, though. I can enjoy vicariously.

I went to my Lego Store in France today. They have received the new sets, but they won't sell them until 1st June :(

The vendor tells me that they received every new set and more... but he couldn't say more. Do you have any idea of what it could be ? A surprise set like the " Monster book of monsters " ?

If there was a GWP set, we would‘ve heard about it by now. They‘re probably just referring to the two Brickheadz sets and/or the accessory pack :shrug_oh_well: Or maybe the polybag if we‘re lucky, but that one is still scheduled for August

You're probably right , i forgot the 2 BrickHeadz ... We'll see ! Thx for your reply anyway

Do we know what it's in the Polybag besides a guaranteed Harry?

So my wizard's chess set shipped from Target yesterday, weirdly my Fawkes (or what are they calling the set Europe's Top Wizarding School's Headmaster Dumbledore's Phoenix Fawkes set) did not ship at the same time., maybe they have more orders for the ol' FireBird.
