But if it is at least my wallet is happy. Hey, don't forget good ol' UCS Dobby's sock An anti-wishlist is probably not a bad idea, far less potential for disappointment So what I don't want to see is a Hogwarts Express for the $250 slot and the Durmstrang ship for the $120 slot. Oh, and please no remakes of anything post-2018 yet. As I've said before, a Hogwarts Express D2C has next to no potential for interesting minifigs and while the Durmstrang ship would definitely have that, it's screentime (or rather lack thereof) is what kills it for me.
1234567892022 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I wish the next CMF series would have a special theme focusing on figures with a creature/animal. So, like: Someone and Fang Lavender and a Pygmy Puff Luna and a baby Thestral etc.
lego_guyon02 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Had a quick talk with my sources and they asked me to give you a piece of advice regarding the August wave: significantly lower your expectations.

If we were to get a Durmstrang Ship/Second Task combined, do you think we'd get two Victors? One in his uniform and one in his swimwear?

Maybe they do pull a Star Wars and it's just full of unnecessary remakes Then it's probably just better to pretend this wave doesn't exist for the time being, saves us the disappointment

There's still 5 sets and several have high price tags, so I imagine they'll be good quality sets. I know you can't go into any more details but I see 3 possibilities: either it's something no one here suggested/hoped for, some remakes or something like mosaics/buildable animals that aren't as popular.

1234567892022 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Good Lord I'm intrigued and a little anxious. I hope that, whatever happens, we get some nice minifigure scale builds and great figs themselves.

It's pretty sad to know a wave will be disappointing, but having no idea in which way Without going into specifics, can you compare the level of disappointment to another wave of LEGO sets from any theme? (Please don't say 1HY 2021 Star Wars ) Edited February 10, 2021 by Lego-Freak
1234567892022 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I hope disappointing means lots of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets sets.

That is not...comforting. My hope is that you are playing mind games and the wave blows us away, but your past posts indicates that you are not one to toy with our emotions.

That would indeed suck. These two are already massively overrepresented compared to every other film, this doesn't need to get worse
deskp Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Basically 2 disappointing waves in one year. and a disappointing d2c ..Grand !

Any idea when we might get some info though? Hopefully within a month or so? HP has been my favorite theme in a long time and the thought of it dropping from the height it's been up until now to the level of Star Wars in its mixed-baginess is just painful. Although that's probably on us, that'll teach us for putting that much trust into a theme

RODDY Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 19 minutes ago, BrickFunatic said: I hope disappointing means lots of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets sets. I honestly don’t know what more could they do from those movies, and I say that as someone who loves those two the most. I guess you could do a Room of the Winged Keys, a small $20 Mirror of Erised with Harry and Quirell, and maybe the Chessboard. Maybe another Forbidden Forest addition. But those just aren’t really appealing at all, I think these Anniversary sets have covered the essentials for the first two quite well. But I wouldn’t put it past Lego since it’s kinda odd we have a gold Voldemort but not a gold Dumbledore. Maybe he’ll come in the D2C.
Seaber Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I was looking forward to a DH wave, but this news, even though its just a hint at this stage, doesn't really bother me at all. More Philosopher's Stone challenges, Troll in the Dungeon, more Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley and the Shrieking Shack could be on the cards if they're sticking to the first three films. If Lego release a Hedwig like set I'll save some money there. I can wait a year for DH sets. Then the following year go back to mostly PoA/GoF stuff.
Modal Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) If they don’t release a Gringotts let me just say I am so glad I sold my Diagon Alley set. The longer I looked at it (and the pink box) the more I disliked it. It definitely needs a centerpiece like Gringotts. All I really care about is the $250 set. If it’s a stupid UCS Harry’s head or something I will be so disappointed. You would think making HP waves would be so obvious the get right for the fans. Edited February 10, 2021 by Modal
1234567892022 Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 What if the $250 set really is a ginormous Hedwig like someone said a few months ago. I would scream.
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Pfff. I thought the June wave was just the appetiser, but now it sounds more like it’s the main course & dessert at once, while the August wave is the disgusting leftovers nobody wants Am I overreacting again? Of course I’m joking with my silly analogies, but now two trusted leakers/informants tell us to keep expectations low. That sounds pretty alarming to me
