1234567892022 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I'm really excited to see how the Chamber of Secrets looks. I wonder if from the exterior it is made to look like the rocks the castle sits on? I hope the interior isn't cramped. Also, I'm really hoping for a "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened..." wall (like we got in the microscale Hogwarts). Has anyone ever made a MOC of what the current castle would look like with a sand green roof?

Flixter Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 @Guyon2002 not sure if you can answer, but I'd like to know how does it look like when all 3 new sets are connected? Maybe you could describe it or idk, say it if it looks terrible or very cool

BrickBob Studpants Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 The way I see it, we were used to haute cuisine. Now the waiter tells us secretly to significantly lower our expectations for the next meal. What do we expect now? A new untested menu? A boring steak? A Happy Meal? Leftovers? Microwave food? Two week old catfood mixed with rotten calamari and the contents of an overstuffed ashtray? I dunno
Roebuck Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 9 hours ago, Lego-Freak said: The problem here is that @Guyon2002 knows exactly want most people wanted or expected in this wave, so him telling all of us to lower our expectations doesn’t bode well. Remember what he said about the June wave shortly before the descriptions got leaked, that he wasn’t that keen on some of the sets, but a lot of us would be happy (meaning the people who wanted a CoS remake, Basilisk, Fluffy, polyjuiced characters, and Hogsmeade). Correct me if I’m wrong, but to me this indicates that (almost) none of us will be happy with the August wave. My money is on unnecessary remakes (PS Hagrid’s hut, UCS Hogwarts Express, Quidditch patch, Snape’s classroom, Hogwarts expansion we already have) Remember that he do not like if we get to many good sets in a year that he must buy so his budget is of the rails 9 hours ago, Tariq j said: I mean, if it worked I wouldn't say no 8 hours ago, Lego-Freak said: Well, it’s certainly not Gringotts, since that‘s what almost everyone wanted The second most popular idea was Hogsmeade, and that’s out of the picture as well. So it has to be something nobody had on their radar before, like the suggested UCS Hogwarts Express What I was looking most forward to this year in HP was a DA expansion. Maybe the 250$ set is not Gringotts since it on the one hand would make sense not to give us a second big DA set, in addition that lower the chance of DA becoming a yearly expansion set. On the other hand that is what I want However the HP theme I am sure will give us a lot of great sets this year , what ever they turn out to be 7 hours ago, Textorix said: I mean if I was leaker and my source didnt want me to share some info I would have just create other account and pretend I am someone else with different source :DDD 7 hours ago, Metanoios91 said: How would your source know that he/she is the only one that knows what sets are coming and would therefore be the only one that faces consequences, when the info surfaces somewhere as a "guess" on the internet? Falconfan and promobricks obviously know as well. Unless your source is the same designer (or Lego as a PR stunt themselves), that supplied all the others with information, your source or Lego for that matter would have no way of knowing, who exactly that person leaking the information is. Also someone could have guessed the D2C correctly in this thread already. Is that person leaking information or just lucky? So with that logic it is OK to be unfaithful to its parter as long as they do not find out as well Most people in the know do not say anything. Why? Because it is most important for them to continue to be in the know, why should they care that most people do not know as long as they do. So be happy some of them are telling us anything at all 4 hours ago, BacktoBricks said: Do I want DH sets? Yes absolutely as I have never owned any and hardly any were ever made anyway. But I don't mind waiting for them. I'm pretty much happy with anything we get so long as the standard of sets remains as good as it started out as and so long as Lego does cover all the films in the end. I agree 3 hours ago, Timemaster1985 said: Hello everyone! I also wouldn’t be too disappointed by the 2nd wave just yet, any time I’ve thought something sounded disappointing I ended up really liking it. And LEGO has even given us sets that I don’t think any of us expected like Grawp or the Beauxbatons carriage. And I doubt they will forget deathly hallows sets all together, if we have to wait a bit longer for them, I’m okay with that. We’ve waited this long, what’s another year 😁 Hello and welcome I agree what we get will probably be nice even if it was not was we where expecting To bad the FB films are delayed all the time, I would have liked some more sets from them and if we get FB sets mixed with HP the chance is lower that we get re-releases of HP
Albus Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Where did the info on the June wave come from? I can't find it in the thread.

MaxHeadroom Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Seems like a lot of people want remakes to include new and exciting figures but for me at least that's the worst possible way for LEGO to do remakes. If LEGO does remakes I hope the remakes either make up less than half of the new set (Privet Drive and the Great Hall by its descriptions) or are practically rereleases made up of stuff that's already available elsewhere in the reboot. For example instead of a Hogwarts express with a small build of the hogsmeade station we could get a Hogwarts express with another flying car. The only real exception to this (other than the original great hall) would be the Hungarian Horntail which does actually need to be remade and not just rereleased.
Robocrookshanks Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 "lower your expetations" (as we are pretty much guessing and wishing at rhis point) This made me think all events below ground level: Second task, Gringotts dungeons, Ministry of Magic, and hey, Durmstrang ship came from underwater too

That's gonna be tough, considering a lot of last year's activity stemmed from deciphering cowdung clues Maybe the 50+ pages of complaints once the August set list gets revealed can make up for that

What part of this isn't living up to your expectations? Did you think we were gonna be staying in a five-star hotel? Finding a Horcrux every other day? You thought you'd be back with your mum by Christmas?" So I guess the tent is confirmed for the August wave. /s

RODDY Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) As much as I despise the ideas of remakes, the new Great Hall/Chamber of Secrets probably had the best minifig selection in a HP set thus far. That and having the Chamber of Secret and a revamped Basilisk makes it a huge draw. I remember Lego designers talking about wanting to put a Chamber under the 2018 one so it’s going to be interesting to now see their vision fulfilled. But I really can’t see them having great success remaking other sets with same appeal. Yeah you can always do a PS Hagrid’s Hut but having Fang or a unicorn isn’t going to make me drop $70 on the same set. Same with Quidditch, the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw robes won’t be that much of a draw and you could always army build from BrickLink. Part of me really does want the $250 set to be Hogwarts Express just so I can save money, but I’m still dying for Gringott’s. It’s just way too soon for remakes imo. Honestly if the August sets are a disappointment, I’ll live. The anniversary sets sound so incredible, so they will suffice. Any new set I would welcome with open arms (even DH sets), but the only thing that will be disappointing are remakes. Even then more money saved for that $800 AT AT Edited February 11, 2021 by RODDY
