I hope something leaks soon to cheer me up a bit (learned yesterday I need to have my kidney stone removed surgically in April or so because of my stupid horseshoe mutant kidney making the usual procedures next to impossible)  If I don’t make it, prepare for this place to be haunted  :laugh_hard:

Just kidding of course, it won’t be that dramatic and it doesn’t really change anything if stuff gets leaked before that or not :shrug_oh_well: The June wave sounds good enough to look forward to it regardless

Good luck with the surgery!

It still feels odd that they haven't included Snape and Draco in this set. The duelling scene was just so iconic, and Draco needs to cast Serpentsortia in order for the whole Parslemouth thing with Harry and Justin to occur.

That complaint aside, I'm pleased to have Professor Sinistra. Aside from Binns (History of Magic), she was the only one of the Professors of the core courses we haven't had yet.

Yeah not having Snape and Draco is kinda odd but I’d rather have them excluded since they are a lot more common to find then say Colin Creevy or any of the first time minifigs.

But I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if the $30 August set is The Dueling Club that can be added in the Great Hall. Have Draco, Snape, Dueling Club Lockhart, Harry, and a new snake mold. Seeing that Lego went back to their prototype for the new Great Hall to include the Chambers, maybe they take the originally planned Dueling Club portion as well and expanded on it.

I'd add Professor Binns to your list of ghosts. As far as the rest of staff, I'd also add Madam Pince and Firenze, and in a perfect world, Professors Vector, Burbage, Babbling, Grubbly-Plank and the Carrows.

I like that list, but I doubt any non-movie characters will get the minifig treatment anytime soon  The house founders at least had promotional images, Binns and Grubbly-Plank don’t even have that luxury.

And Burbage is out of the question for plot reasons. Her only scene involves getting tortured, mocked, and killed after pleading for her life, followed by becoming Naginis dinner. Doesn’t exactly sound like set material if you catch my drift

The others I could see. If Sinistra and her 2 seconds of screentime are fair game, so are Vector and the Carrows

Grubbly-Plank was actually in the movies for a few seconds as well:

76395 - $29.99 Hogwarts Moments: Umbridge’s Office – A dusky pink cover unfolds to reveal Umbridge's desk, a pink chair, a window in the middle section with pink curtains and large stickers on the inside panels picturing all of her cat photos. Comes with Umbridge, Harry, and Draco Malfoy. Cannot say anything else about the set because after all I Must Not Tell Lies.

This actually is a set I would rather like, it would be a great parts pack for integrating her office into a castle section and the unique colour and style would definitely set it apart from the others. Like Lockheart Umbridge has a different outfit in every scene so she could also be a unique figure (such as a new mould with her hat from her first speech to the school or the knitted overall she wears when she fires Trelawney

TBF whilst my post was in jest I wouldn't actually hate any of the sets. Scabbers is the only one I would rather didn't exist and I'd be all for a set that lets you properly complete Hagrid's Hut although the thought of another Aragog doesn't thrill me.

Do we know if the dueling club feature from the Great Hall prototype is being revived for the new set? I'm sure there needs to be a brick or two between the great hall and chamber of secrets for stability so it wouldn't be too difficult to add the DC play feature. Then again LEGO may just want to have a standard great hall to make the set as definitive as possible.

Hmm. Excellent argument. :| A few months ago @Guyon2002 rather patiently explained why my notion of a Godric's Hollow set with Bathilda Bagshot (as a potential Christmas set no less *huh*) was thoroughly inappropriate. (Slowly but surely I'm learning I haven't the proper mindset for toy development.  )

Carrows are definite musts. For one thing, I need Death Eaters, and for another Snape has to incapacitate them. That was one of I think two things I preferred measurably in the movies over the books. (The other was the scene in front of the Whomping Willow with a werewolf Lupin.)

Does Grubbly-Plank have stripes?

(Adding my best wishes to the list for surgery as well. I'm not sure how to phrase this, but I found hospitalization last year simultaneously boring and lonely as no visitors were permitted. If that's still the case when you go in, the virus being what it is, perhaps we can start a "keep Lego-Freak diverted" thread? :classic:)

Ooo! I want that Duelling Club set! :excited: Given we can come by Snape and Draco fairly inexpensively in the Moments / Potions Classroom set (and Seamus wasn't a repeat either), I suppose it makes sense they're not included in the upcoming GH/CoS set, and yet McGonagall is included in the Hogsmeade set... There are definitely more sets with McGonagalls and fewer Snapes and Dracos than usual since 2018. (Sets prior to 2018 / from 2018 on with: McGonagall 3 / 3, Snape 9 / 4, Draco 13 / 7) @Yope had posted a list with minutes of screen time vs book mentions of various characters. If you have those links handy, I'd love to know how those three characters measure up in both metrics.

I am thinking about trying to connect june wave anniversary Hogwarts sets to latest Hogwarts buildings even if they arent suppose to connect. Basically I would swap sand green parts for grey ones so anniversary sets would match with other Hogwarts sets. Also when we finally get anniversary sets pictures I will decide which Great Hall I am gonna dismantle and use the bricks to modify other one and create ultimate Great Hall with Chamber of Secrets. What do you guys think? Are you gonna display both Great Halls seperately or try to create your own layout?

I already have a layout of my own so I'll just build the new Hogwarts sections as they were designed and then scrap them for pieces so I can mess around with my current castle some more. Although I may keep them on display for some time.

The most exciting things about the Hogwarts sets are definitely the figures, Fluffy and the Basilisk.

Yes the new minifigures sound really amazing but I am also very interested how they will make Chamber of Secrets connection with Great Hall. I hope that there will be a large rock under Great Hall so they can put Chamber under it but I am not sure if there is enough pieces for that.

I'm curious if they're going to use the classic tower roof pieces for the anniversary Great Hall set (if a tower is included of course). It would be fitting with the sand green and as it was used quite often in the old HP waves.

What I’ve done for mine so far is having a mix of grey and green roofs, with the castle being mostly green and then some grey roofs for towers. That being said, most of my castle is based on the 2010 incarnation to which I’ve only had to add the Astronomy Tower thus far. I could definitely see myself breaking up my 2010 Great Hall for parts in favour of the upcoming 2021 version.

It seems to me like those are scars are her cheek, likely intended to be a claw mark from some magical creature. It’s an interesting character choice and would certainly make for a cool figure if Lego really want to scrape the bottom of the barrel (just try reusing a face for her Lego)

It has a partially rocky foundation iirc.

Thank you, that makes much more sense, especially in CMC. Sort of like a healed Bill, I suppose.

Still don’t know if I’m being quite honest, I’m a bit torn. I love both the 2018 Hogwarts extensions but their biggest downfall was the lack of notable rooms and scenes. I didn’t think the designers hit their stride with having both an awesome interior and exterior till the Clocktower which came with the prefect’s bathroom and the Yule Ball which was incredibly well done and paired with the Advent Calendar so nicely. The Astronomy Tower was also great too with both the Herbology and Astronomy Classrooms alongside Slug Club. And adding Room of Requirements made it even better. Only thing different I would have done was swapped Slughorn’s office for Umbridge’s.

These new extensions from the sounds of interior at least blow away both the GH and WW. They give us the biggest scenes from the first two movies. So I think at the end of the day, I think I’m just going to display the new Hogwarts expansion if the exterior looks close to the 2018 version and supplement it with the 2018’s GH figures, and make a more a PS/CoS/POA/GoF centric display. Pair it with Hagrid’s Hut, Aragog’s Liar, and Expecto Patronum, First Task and Hogsmeade, and downsize the shelf space my current display has. Part of me wants to mod it so I can connect it to Astronomy Tower and Clocktower, but I don’t think I have the patience or skills for that.
