Modal Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I think someone mentioned it earlier, but I’m afraid the love or hate thing refers to the style of set it is. Attack on Hoth is a playset, and to be frank I think the majority of AFOL’s are not particularly interested in play sets (this isn’t exact obviously but gotta generalize a little). Personally, I prefer the sets that are also great display pieces. If we get something on the bigger price points that isn’t exactly catered to adults as well, I can see many, including myself, getting upset.

Cause all info regarding hp came from promobricks if I remember correctly. @Falconfan1414 has been a trusted source for years with countless examples (basically everything Marvel and DC related for instance). @Guyon2002 is new in the leaking business, but he's been active on EB for a long time now and it's thanks to him we've known the set numbers for so long now. As I've said, both of them are trustworthy

Wowowow if you think Assault on Hoth was overall pretty good, then what does "lower your expectations" really mean? I can go lower than Cursed Child sets but I really don't want to. I was only joking before but now I am afraid

There's a great big expanse of possibility between "bad sets" and "£250 Gringotts D2C".
Micmac Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Have we ever had information like this before and info so early about the august wave? People know what the August wave is, They might not have seen it but they have detailed info about it. My problem with the leak info we are getting is that is has no details but lots of negative feelings. I'm not mad at the leakers but this blog is more about fantasy than facts most of the time until we get leaked pictures and leaked details. To have the fantasy shattered so early is a bit of a bummer. Its like writing your santas list and then having your parents spend months telling you you might not get everything on it. Or nothing from it at all. I feel like i've just been told santa doesn't exist and lego doesn't love me. :(
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 3 minutes ago, Alexandrina said: "Lower your expectations" doesn't necessarily mean "the sets are bad". Yes. But "you'd be surprised at how bad they can be" should do the trick My money is still on them skipping DH and starting with PS/CoS again with pointless remakes of post-2018 sets. The ones that'll love them will probably be the people that missed them before Or maybe they'll include one new-ish minifig or creature in each set just to make us buy them all again
Metanoios Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) Ok I'm lowering my expectations further. The next wave will include a 250$ D2C cloak of invisibilty. Another Ford Anglia (but this time with a working invisibility booster). Also someone in Billund apparently figured out how to cast Repello-Muggletum on all the bricks. Or in other words, Lego went too far with their reduce-single-use-plastic-campaign and will just send out empty cardboard boxes starting this august Edited February 16, 2021 by Metanoios91
Micmac Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 The new Vidiyo CMF mini figures come in boxes. I hope this is not a look into the future of the cmf series.
PsychoBuilder Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Okay, so what would be your ideas for a reasonable list? I’m not saying something to the effect of five different versions of Dobby’s sock, but also not Grimmauld Place, DA, and the Bell Towers together. Here is mine: 20$: remake of the Horntail figures: Harry 30$: Another Hogwarts moment set, probably DADA with Lupin or Quirrel Figures: Oliver Wood and Harry if it’s Quirrel, Harry and Draco if it’s Lupin 50$: Niffler statue Figures: Newt and a niffler 60$: The second task, no Durmstrang ship Figures: Harry, Krum, Cedric, Ron, and Hermionie—maybe Cho 120$: Some Hogwarts expansion, probably the bell towers Figures: knight statue, McGonagal, Harry, Death Eater, Flitwick, Voldemort, Ron, Hermionie, and Narcissa 250$: I really can’t see this as anything but Da, but I suppose a D2C Burrow (it’s my second guess) Molly, Arthur, Ron, Ginny, the twins, Harry, Hermionie, Bill, Fleur, and Xenophilius

They also come in store boxes of 24 pieces with two complete sets, lined up in 2 rows of 1 complete set, so that makes it easier for people to get a complete series.

And if the theme's quality really starts to decline like it seems to do, they may just as well not bother with a third one
Darth Shadowthrone Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Okay, I know this has been said before but it's hilarious seeing this thread on 'hot', thinking there's new information even if it's a single character inclusion or coloured brick or something and then just seeing...this. To try and revert the conversation to the sets we don't actually know about (I've given up hope of Gringotts this year so I'll either avoid crushing disappointment or relieved surprise) I've been thinking about how the Great Hall is a whole floor taller than the last one (in theory) with the stone foundations and how the other two sets could link into that, so here's my big question: what if the anniversary sets are grey on the ground floor and tan traditional Hogwarts colours on their upper floors? This could mean that the Bathroom and Forbidden Corridor could still work next to the Great Hall despite being level with the Chamber of Secrets. This could be a MASSIVE call-back to the original sets (up to 2007). ALL of these earlier Hogwarts sets are grey on the bottom. Also as a disclaimer I've carefully read the set descriptions from Promobricks / Stone Wars and the wider building section of the Forbidden Corridor fits on top of the Girl's Bathroom (with the Forbidden Corridor tower separate, it sounds a bit like how Jabba's Palace went on top of the Rancor cage but much smaller). So maybe if the Girl's Bathroom is level with the Chamber of Secrets on the ground floor that set has a lot of grey parts and then most of the Forbidden Corridor is tan colours? Could any of our trusted leakers divulge what kind of mix of grey and tan colours are going on in these sets please?
BacktoBricks Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 What about a Dumbledore's Office with golden Dumbledore?

I can't say I really appreciated it all that much back then, but they could do it more justice now. It would fit with the anniversary theme and it certainly wouldn't be something we'd be expecting. Metanoios Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 A specialised moulded or good brick-built stairwell gargoyle would make that set a must-buy for me. If they managed to modernise the play feature of the original, that would be amazing. My expectations are getting to high again
