christopher110 Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 This is a great set 7017. However, I like the dragon from 7019 more because it's much bigger in size though it's not in red-colour (the only complaint about it). i forgot to mention that the connection between the neck of Nidhogg and its body is a bit loose. MattZitron Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Looks good dude. Do you reckon you're going to buy multiples of any sets? Matt Quote
christopher110 Posted July 24, 2005 Author Posted July 24, 2005 If I have the money, I'll buy: 3 x 7019: so that I can build a larger fortress 1 x 7018: I'm content with two big ships 3 x 7017: to protect my enlarged fortress with 4 powerful catapults 7 x 7016: so each Viking Ship will lead 4 Viking Boats I don't really like 7015, so I won't buy multiple of it. I bought it just for completion sake. My current plan (due to tight budget) is to buy another 7019 if there's a sale at the end of the year. Quote
MattZitron Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Nice, I think I might have to go the same route. Has anyone in the UK seen them in any shops yet? I was gonna try Toys R Us. Quote
Shecky TNT Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I just finished building the "Midgard Serpent" set, and I just have to say...wow. Just wow. That Serpent figure is amazing--so elegant in design, and just plain cool. This makes me extra disappointed that the new Dino Attack beasties aren't done Lego-style. Quote

I totally agree with you, Shecky TNT. I like the vehicles in Dino line especially the helicopter and the fire hammer. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Has anyone seen these in dutch toy stores already? Or does anybody know what day they'll be in them? (Yes, I've asked before...I know ;) ) By the way, can somebody post a more detailed pic of the 'shields'. They look like modified technic parts...or maybe I just missed it and it's been around for a while. A link to peeron would be nice :-D Thanks :-D Quote

MattZitron Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 FINALLY got my longboat. Great set, BUT did anyone else find that the horns on the Midgard Serpant were a little loose? I had to take the 2 red ones from its neck out, because they kept falling out. Quote

Nice description, Bloody_Jay. Here's some pictures of the shields. 1) The printed shields: 2) The shields using stickers: Quote
MattZitron Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I have to say I don't mind the stickered shields. Its designed so the sticker is super easy to put on (I have alot of trouble with Stickers). And they look good. Quote
languages Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I hate stickers so I just get my brother to do them.....he has a lot of concentration..... Quote
MattZitron Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I hate stickers so I just get my brother to do them.....he has a lot of concentration..... See I'm usually the same, but these went on with no trouble. I really love the fake metal effect on the Vikings helmets. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Thanks for the pictures :-D I read that you got one spare sticker so I thought I's look for some cheap sets which have the same piece. Still, no peeron inventory for the Viking sets...and still not in toy stores over here...I'll try again tomorrow, but I read august 4 somehwere too. Looks like I'll be going to town a lot next week... Quote
Sir Dillon Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks for the reviews! I am sooo getting these as soon as you can buy them in the USA. Quote
christopher110 Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 I hate stickers so I just get my brother to do them.....he has a lot of concentration..... I hate stickers too. So, usually I don't apply them. However, the Vikings are exceptions. The stickers are pretty easy to apply. At least, it's not that obvious if you put it off-center. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Went into town today, because I read at a dutch forum that someone had found the Viking sets in a toystore already. No luck though. They said they'd get them "before august 10th"...I want them now *wacko* Quote
MattZitron Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I forgot to say that the money (and the megablocking long wait) was totally worth it for the Longboat. It was fun to make, and looks fantastic. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 If I see it correctly, those shields are the same part as are on top of the 4504 Millenium Falcon, right? Those had stickers too, but they fitted quite nicely, actually. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 FINALLY found them in toy stores over here. Bought the Fenris Wolf thingie, the catapult, and the logboat. They'd only been in for an hour, so I got lucky by buying the only longboat they had. And I was only planning on buying the 3 cheapest sets... Quote
chewie Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 hey Christopher, could you post a pic or two of the little viking boat. Thanks Quote
