KimT Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Thanks for the new pics. That thing is huge. Great work sigpro. KimT Quote
pr0visorak Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Looks good. But the body is too thin. The AT-AT carries a lot of weponary. So it has to be a bit fatter.I like how tall it is though. It looks like how a minifig would look at it.The head is nice but there should be a place where the minifig can look through.I think the legs should not look so stif and thin. Can you make them a bit fatter?Besides all that great work! Quote
sigpro Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks for your comments! The body is scaled. I swear it! But maybe it looks thin. About 50 minifigs can enter. I will post pics for you to check it. The legs...yes, I know they look very thin, but they are scaled anyway. They are even fatter. But they have been strengthened. A double technich rotation pin has been added in every "knee" and "hip", so the AT AT is stonger. Do you remember the Ep V scene when the AT AT falls on the ground? That happened to mine becouse the "hips" and "knees" bended... The cockpit has an interior scope for observation and aiming . Check it! Greetings. Quote
sigpro Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 The legs have been strengthened by adding another pair of 44225 and 44224 technic parts. What do I get with it? The legs are more stable, both if you move it front-back or right-left. It can even stand with one rear leg up. It even looks stronger, but, according to the plans, the legs are oversized. I will try to post pics ASAP. Thanks. Quote
sigpro Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 (edited) Updates on my AT-AT. Two octuple grenade launchers have been attached under the cockpit, close to the heavy turbolasers. These weapons are to improve the protection against infantry -for example- at point-blank. Have some pics. Greetings. Edited October 17, 2008 by sigpro Quote
Skipper 24 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 That is extraordinary . I love the cockpit the most, Can we see pics of the new strengthened legs? Quote
sigpro Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Here you are! Three pics. The first one is an overall sight of the AT-AT from the front. The second one shows how the legs have been strengthened. Twin technic rotation joints are in each "knee" and "hip" of the AT-AT. This ensures greater stability in all directions, specially if pushed from the front-rear axis. Time ago the AT-AT collapsed when pushed from behind... The third pic shows the "ankle". This part was not strengthened as it was not as weak as the other parts. Bye and thanks for the comments! Quote
legopiotre Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'm loving it You did a really good job Will you made an Hoth or an Endor panorama with it ? It would be awesome to see a few snowspeeders attacking it. Quote
sigpro Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 I would like to make a funny pic with it. And scenes...one day I will post the AT-AT with this... A "small" 4x4 48-stud baseplate Imperial Base located nowhere... Bye!!! Quote
Legoking Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 This is a good MOC of the Star Wars AT-AT. It looks like you have put a lot of time and effort into it, but the sides of the body and the head look plain to me. Quote
sigpro Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 Yes, you are right. I should add grebbles and try to add dark grey pieces to "break" the light grey layout. Thanks. Quote
sigpro Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 The escape hatchs have been attached. I hope to post the pictures for you to see the result. Bye and thanks. Quote
sigpro Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 The cockpit has been upgraded -again and again, as usual- The access hatch has been reinstalled, and it is now at the end of the cockpit. This means there is more room inside. This view shows the extra room gained. July version. What do these changes mean? There is an extra stud for General Veers. He is not so close to the pilot like in the July version. The weapons are on the right side of the cockpit, so the extra passenger does not have them so close; in case of accident, he would not be hit by them. Leaving the cockpit is easier now. Other view. The multi function panels are seen. Other view, from the hatch to the front. Many control lights, the main HUD´S, and other gadgets. Enjoy! Quote
sigpro Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 Happy new year and have the latest version of my AT AT. More pics very soon. Enjoy. Quote
KimT Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Great work sigpro. One thing that I think you might improve would be the legs. They're just a little too sleek compared to the body. - they need some greeble. Have you considered adding studs, making them look more like the body? Thanks for sharing your progress in this huge minifig-sized AT-AT Quote
General Magma Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) WOW! That's GREAT! Hmm..a true minifig-scale MOC. Edited January 2, 2009 by General Magma Quote
Motti Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 This is by far my favourite of ATAT mocs. But its too monochromatic Add some titbits of dark bley. I really like the use of flat plates with studs on one side. Quote
sigpro Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 I have remade the legs. The "ankles" are larger and the "hips" are also larger. Grebbles have been added and I hope it looks better. Have a pic with the family... Enjoy. Quote
jifel Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Im really impressed with your work, it looks beautiful. jifel Quote
sigpro Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) Have some pics of inside the AT AT. No tourist class syndrom and all the necessary risk preventing measures have been taken concerning fire extinction and emergency lights. There are four emergency escape hatches -2 forward and 2 backward, in the mid deck- and two big boarding hatches in the lower deck -the main one-. The upper level, in the center, wich holds 14 soldiers. There are 2 fire extinguishers and 4 lights. The ladder is detachable. The mid deck, with 14 troops (2 of them are scout troopers as there are 2 speeder bikes). There are fire extinguishers and some lights. Forward mid deck, with 11 soldiers and place for 8 weapons. There are lights in the inner area of the walls -removed-. Detail of one of the emergency escape hatches, with the light. Forward main deck, with 5 stormtroopers -one of them should be the commander of the troops carried- and 3 scout troopers. You can also see how the neck is attached into the "body". Cargo area. I could have placed many soldiers, but they would not be able to use support weapons. So as I have been able to carry 47 soldiers -more than it appears in many webs- I preferred them to carry some gadgets. You can see 8 missile launchers and 3 cannons -from set 7666-. Motorbikes inside the AT AT -5- General view. Edited February 12, 2009 by sigpro Quote
