MKJoshA Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) *Your entry has earned 28 XP* The Triumvirate has many facilities all over the planet. So when ace pilot TK-579 needed to get his TIE Bomber repaired he took it to one of the repair hangers. He docked in bay 21 and left his ship to have its solar panels replace. He returned a few hours later and started yelling at the Tech Officer. TK-579: Why isn't my ship fixed yet?!? Tech Officer: You can't rush art. The repair crew of Bay 21 is renowned for their skill and precision. Don't rush them or you might find yourself sucking space instead of oxygen in your next engagement. Finally the work was done. Stuartn Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 The detail overall is great, and the technique for the 1 on the floor is genius. The intricacy of the scaffolding is also brilliant. Does the TIE bomber also have wings, not shown in the picture? But it is a great rendition of the ship regardless Quote
n1majneb Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 This is a great design, Josh, not just the TIE but the hangar and the platforms all look great, it’s the little things and they all work so well Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 A nice build for the TIE bomber, the figures are good and the numbers on the floor looks great. I wonder if the parts you used to decorate the walls are a little too detailed - personally I found them a bit distracting. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 How long have you been sitting on this build? It looks amazing! Great work. Quote

I've added a couple pictures to show them. @judges, you can see the completed TIE on my Flickr uploaded before the deadline. So the full TIE counts for scoring. 17 hours ago, Ross Fisher said: How long have you been sitting on this build? It looks amazing! Great work. I built the whole thing for this LTC. Glad you like it! n1majneb Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I understand why you lost the wings to show it in, essentially, dry dock. Would they have worked suspended above the TIE (though I guess it would block a lot of the available light) Quote

Darth Bjorn Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I really like the aesthetic of this build - of course - it's imperial ;) There's a few details I would have done different, e.g. the numbers on the floor is a bit to earthly for me - could be closer to the aurebesh version. The beams used for the walls, are a nice touch - I'm saving those for a similar project, but they fit the roof beams of an imperial hangar better imo. It also is a bit repetitive. Last thing I'd change is the stairs of the scaffolding - it's designed for duplo figures? The Tie Bomber is really really cool - a bit disproportioned, but it is super impressive that you got that done in two weeks... Quote
dvogon Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Great TIE Bomber and hangar! The bomber has to be quite heavy I guess. Those sculpted numbers in the hangar floor are fantastic! Minifigs are also great. If anything, I agree on the aurebesh number versions for a better universe fit (being these ones fantastic, as I said) Quote
