Jeez guys, for that BB ep 14 set you both forgot

Spoiler

My boy Nemec. My figure line-up would be Echo, Gregor, Nemec, Fireball, Howzer, 2x TK trooper, and 1 or 2 imperial clone commandos.

That one's definately showing up on my list for the summer community wishlist wave. Which, I suppose I should start requesting suggestions for soon, since I'll be starting it in late may. Feel free to PM any suggestions to me and I'll compile whatever I get into my template, and share that here in mid-April where we'll get into the specifics.

Thank you, do have a few digital WIPs, hopefully they'll be ready for sharing soon, but I'm quite busy lately.

Understandable. Can't wait to see them!

Sequel trilogy CMF is next, I guess.

2. General Leia Organa: Starkiller base plans.

3. Stormtrooper Heavy Assault Commander (New cloth with pauldron, straps, and pouches): brick-built megablaster.

4. Kylo Ren (Hooded, helmet as a printed head, new cloth elements): Lightsaber

5. Ello Asty (alien head and helmet as one molded part): blaster pistol

6. Poe Dameron (Brown jacket, arm printing with Alliance symbols on shoulders): Blaster pistol, BB-8.

7. Paige Tico: blaster pistol, bomb.

8.  Captain Phasma (Battle Damaged, new helmet mold w/damage and tattered cape): spear, blaster.

9. General Hux (arm printing): swappable hair/hat, blaster pistol.

10. Maz Kanata: jetpack, blaster

11. Rey (Hooded): Lightsaber, sith wayfinder

12. Ben Solo: lightsaber.

13. Sovereign protector: new blaster

14. The Eternal Emperor: lightning elements.

15. Chewbacca (New mold without bandolier): Blaster.

16. (Chase figure): Force Ghost Luke Skywalker (done like the Harry Potter ghosts): Lightsaber.

I'll come clean: I didn't include him because I didn't remember his name... I agree at minimum it would need those first five figures though. I'd even be willing to forego the TK troopers in favour of an imperial commando and maybe Hemlock.

As far as other bad batch sets go, the only other one I really want to see is a V-wing. I can't remember if season 1 had them still in Republic colours, but if they were that would be my preferred colour scheme. 30 bucks, Imperial clone pilot, Omega or Hunter, and a TK trooper or imperial commando, take my money please and thank you.

LEGO seriously needs to spice things up with Star Wars. They have really mastered buildable dragons with Ninjago. Cloth wings, non-cloth wings, 6 legs, four heads, you name it; LEGO can do it all.

LEGO needs to make a buildable Mythosaur. It's the set you all never knew you needed. Shouldn't be too bad because, from what I can tell, a mythosaur sort of looks like a dragon without wings. They do have the molds needed to make the horns. If you look at the Ninjago Ultra Dragon review by Jang, he removes the wings to show you that the beast still looks complete. A mythosaur can be done and it can look great.

I really do miss the old style winter wave.

So, here’s what I’d do for January 2024. I will update this list as the year goes on and new content is revealed.

First of all, I’d want to make the most of the new minifigure packs. They were very successful and fit the theme excellently well. Each year I would aim for two, alongside a Battlepack OR another minifigure pack. The aim would be to army build what is relevant.

I would then have 4 cheap system sets. I really do miss the days where you could go to your local store and pick up 3-4 £20 sets with some great minifigures and nice builds. Lego needs to start providing sets for the younger audience in terms of cost, but also for the AFOL Lego Star Wars fans who simply don’t want to spend so much money. Below, I have chosen four currently relevant: ROTJ anniversary, Yavin Base set, Bad Batch S2.

Finally, I would have 4 medium-sized sets. 2 of them would go directly against each other and make an exciting pair. I miss the days where Lego would do this E.g., 2011 with the Bounty Hunter Gunship and Jedi Shuttle, 2012 with the Tie and X-Wing (even 2020), and 2013 with the Umbaran MHC and Z-95 Headhunter. The sweet spot would be that they perhaps connect to one of the army building type sets, if possible. The other 2 would be exclusives, and really make us feel they’re tailored to the hardcore Lego Star Wars fans. They’d be Lego exclusives, and one other retailer maximum.

Army-builders:

Endor Rebel Troopers £13.99: Endor Rebel Commando, Endor Rebel Trooper (x2)

Imperial Special Forces £13.99: TK Trooper (x2), Imperial Commando

Rebel ‘Yavin’ Troopers £17.99 (small Hovertank from old Battlefront 2): Rebel Fleet Trooper (x3), Rebel Honour Guard

Small system-scale sets:

Imperial V-Wing £24.99: TK Trooper, Imperial Commando ‘Scorch’

Rebel A-Wing £24.99 (Green): Rebel Pilot, Crix Madine

Republic Barc Speeder w/Sidecar £29.99: Kelleren Beq, Grogu, White Phase II Clone Trooper, Clone Shock Trooper

Desert Skiff (and Pit of Carkoon)£29.99: Luke Skywalker, Brock Starsher, Pote Snitkin, Boba Fett

Medium-large scale sets

CURRENTLY MISSING TWO SETS THAT COULD GO DIRECTLY AGAINST EACH OTHER (and relevant…). Ideally, they’d be between £39.99-£79.99. There’s too many Tie’s on the shelves hence I can’t do a Y-Wing and Vader’s Tie Advanced.
ANY IDEAS LADIES AND GENTS?

Homing Spider Droid (Exclusive) £34.99: Aayla Secura, Commander Bly, Battle Droid Commander, Battle Droid

Rebel B-wing Starfighter (Exclusive) £44.99: Rebel Pilot, Mon Mothma, Rebel Ground Technician (Mon Calamari)

Finally, March would be for the helmets. I think there’s so much more they can do with that line e.g., Kylo Ren, Battle Droid, Clone Troopers, General Greivous, AT-AT Driver, Royal Guard, Skiff Guard etc.

May would be devoted purely to a UCS set, 2-3 diorama’s, and May 4th GWP.

Any set currently releasing between March-June would just be saved for the summer line. Pre-Orders available.

The summer would have 8 sets, plus an advent calendar. It would be adjusted for any new September-October content accordingly perhaps with fewer sets or a cheaper wave with more sets.

2 x £19.99-£29.99
1 x £39.99-£59.99

2 x £59.99-£79.99

2 x £89.99-£109.99

1 x £149.99-£169.99

I wonder if Lego will ever make a new ARF Trooper. Or any phase 1 Clone Wars sets again.

Particularly though that old ARF trooper just looks bare and too cartoony compared to my other phase 1 clones. (From the Clone Command Station) I could buy some modern clone legs and stick them on them but the helmet still looks very animated style.
While i'm here. I just bought a bunch of the AT-ST Polybags and turned them into AT-RT builds because those 501st AT-RTs are like the same height as my AT-TE so while this is possibly the coldest take ever the most over-requested sets ever:

Phase 1 Battlepack:
AT-RT build (Close to minifig scale)
2x Phase 1 Clones
1x ARF Trooper
1x Phase 1 Clone Sergeant/Captain or Lieutenant for a splash of colour.

Hell even if they wanted to do the slightly scummy thing and make it a $30 set and do a 501st Legion style set with those figures i'd be fine. As long as the AT-RT doesn't tower over my tanks.

I'd buy as many of those as i could afford. That would be all I would buy for it's entire year on shelves lol.

If Lego were to only focus on a few sets from the Bad Batch S2, this is what I’d go with. Each would sell amazingly well. Obviously they’d have to be spread over a few waves as they’re all predominantly grey.

Imperial V-Wing Starfighter £24.99: TK Stormtrooper, Imperial Commando “Scorch”, Omega

Imperial AT-AC Walker £79.99: TK Stormtrooper (x2), Imperial Commando (x2), Hunter, Echo

Imperial Transport Shuttle £99.99: Dr. Royce Hemlock, TK Stormtrooper, TK Shock Trooper (x2), Tech, Wrecker

I'm surprised this hasn't appeared as a set yet, given how frequently it has appeared both on wishlists and in the series (and LEGO have even made one before, so it's not like it's completely new material). It would be quite easy to shoehorn into the smaller winter waves we seem to get nowadays.

What I would like to see from a V-wing set is more accurate wings. The penultimate BB episode had a really good shot of the way the wings unfold during take-off, and I'd love to see if/how that could be replicated in a TLG set.

Minifig wise it's also very open though, you could have pretty much any combination of three (I hope there'd be three, but given recent developments it would probably end up being a £30/35eur set). I can't remember if they showed any shots of the pilots so I'm not sure if it was TK troopers flying them, but I would have that or a pilot, a generic clone commando, and (probably vague enough as is but just in case)

my boy Tech

to make it more relevant to that same last episode. Could also swap out the commando for a TK shock trooper.

Yeah I’ve decided the minfigures based on the other sets I’ve listed. Yeah standard TK Troopers fly them; I remember seeing it in the finale of S1.

Well I'm eagerly waiting for the Ahsoka sets....there are 2 confirmed so far...I'd love to see:

Smaller set:

Spoiler

Dark Jedi and his apprentice vehicle whatever it might be, minifigures included could be Dark Jedi, Apprentice, Ahsoka, Imperial stormtrooper

Bigger set:

Spoiler

Ahsoka's T-6 shuttle, minifigs included would be Ahsoka, Huyang, Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn

What we really need is a TROS diorama, with the quote "somehow Palpatine has returned". Needs figures like Poe, other Resistance members and old Han Solo (who has returned somehow as well).

I really hope we get more Sequel sets. I'd honestly rather forgo the dioramas as they waste a bunch of money on the black bases. Because Boba's Throne, The Emperor's Throne Room, presumably Yavin IV, and the missing Jabba's Throne Room all were hypothetically supposed to release within a short period of time I think it will be a while before we see a TROS throne as that would be five throne rooms at the same time.

I suggested this a few months ago.

Exegol Throne ($120): Palpatine, Rey, Ben Solo, all the Knights of Ren, 2 x Sovereign Protectors. Should have Palpatine's throne, the medical devices, the crane, and a large floor consisting of play features.

But I doubt that would happen. Maybe in a few years we will see something along the lines of the Ahsoka vs. Maul set with Palpatine and Rey.

Yeah, it's the standard TK trooper. I remember back after season 1 the most wishlisted set here was a V-wing with Omega, a TK trooper, and a commando. My guess is this time around it'll end up being Echo's ship.

Solo wave (I'm gonna skip rogue one since I literally MOCed a full wave of sets for it about 6 months ago). The amount of new imperial troopers we got from this movie was crazy.

Microfighters:

Lando's Millenium Falcon Microfighter ($9.99): Lando Calrissian

TIE Brute Microfighter ($9.99): TIE pilot

Han Solo VS Moloch's speeder microfighters ($19.99): Han Solo and Moloch

Battle Packs:

Cloud Raiders battle pack ($14.99): 2-seater swoop with Weazel, a rodian cloud rider, a mimbanese cloud rider, and the cloud rider with the mysterio helmet looking thing.

Range Troopers battle pack ($14.99): 3x range trooper, 1x cold weather gunner. Build is a small outpost with turret.

Duel: Duel on the First Light ($24.99): Dryden's museum room (with mando armor and other decorations) with Qi'ra, Dryden Vos, and Han Solo.

Standard system sets:

Escape from Kessel ($34.99): Kessel vault and corridor, along with coaxium cart. Comes with Han Solo, a Wookiee prisoner, and 2x kessel guards.

Mimban Encounter ($59.99): AT-DT and a build with a trapdoor into Chewie's pit. Comes with Han Solo (army uniform),  muddy Chewbacca, 2x mimban stormtrooper, and 2x mudtrooper.

TIE Brute ($79.99): TIE Brute (In between 2021 and 2018 ties in scale) with TIE pilot, 2x stormtrooper, imperial officer, Beckett (imperial uniform), and L3-37.

Conveyex Robbery ($139.99): Conveyex train (double-sided) and a small length of elevated track. Comes with 3x range trooper, 1x viper probe, Val, Beckett, Rio, Han, and Chewie.

Lando's Millenium Falcon ($169.99): Using an updated design that doesn't have those gaps along it. Comes with Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Qi'ra, Beckett, L3-37, Dryden Vos, and 2x Crimson Dawn guards.

Also, I'll be starting the annual community wishlist MOC wave in about a month (maybe a little later depending on what the May the Fourth contest here is about this year), so if anyone has any sets they want to see made, let me know!

This is the template I'm planning on using for the overall wave layout:

2 microfighters

1 microfighter duel pack

2 battle packs

1 200-ish pc "duel" set in the style of the starkiller base or mustafar duels

1 "semi-battle pack", or a 300-400ish pc set with 4-6 figs

4-5 standard system sets ranging from 200ish to 1500ish pieces

2 quote sets ranging from 500ish to 1000ish pieces

1 retail polybag set, like a small vehicle or something

2 GWP style sets: a small 40-ish pc polybag and a 100-200ish pc set. Something like the Lars Kitchen or Endor diorama set.

I'm in a weird position where I thoroughly dislike the ST and couldn't care less about any sets from those movies, yet on the other hand I genuinely feel for people like you who do want sets from those movies. My dislike for those movies does not extend to the people who like them and wants sets from them

So fingers crossed, one day...

Honestly, at this stage, they should treat the sequels as the "old" content that people aren't that interested in. Give them maybe 1 set a year and make them banger sets knowing you likely won't do them again.

All I want is a Duel on Exegol set and a Crait Luke minifigure, then they can retire the sequels for all I care.

Posted (edited)

I think the Sequel Trilogy will return, it has to. But it won’t be for a while and it won’t be until Disney reduces the amount of content they’re releasing. Personally, I don’t like the movies but I quite like the designs as after all its Star Wars.

I could definitely see a Blue Resistance X-Wing and First Order Tie Fighter in the new system scale.

I also think you might get some Rise of Skywalker sets in the future as that has been the most neglected out of the three. Exegol, First Order UA-TT, Treadable Tank, Final Order Star Destroyer and The Fortitude.

An updated Resistance Bomber would be amazing imo, just with a new red colour scheme and hopefully a couple of new figures. This could go alongside a Crait Duel and a Canto Bight Glider.

Finally, I think anything with Kylo Ren will sell well. Especially his personal ships…

Agreed, especially on the designs. The times they went beyond the blatant ripping off of OT vehicles (A-, B-, X-, Y-wing, TIE fighter, AT-ST? come on!) like the Resistance Bomber, the designs are actually Star Wars-y. Just a pity that those bombers were so crappy in-universe. I also remember liking the TIE dagger.

As for Kylo Ren, his TIE silencer looks pretty cool but the Lego version was simply humongous, even for the relatively oversized ships from roughly 2008-2020.

But yeah, I think the duel on Exegol might be the most obvious hole in Lego's ST assortment over the years. Probably not worth a quote set, but at least give it something like that duel from the Kenobi series.

Yes! The Silencer is such a nice design but was way too big when it was released. The Dagger is good, too and was never done if I remember correctly. Both would sell well with the odd exclusive figure included, too.

Yes, Exegol is the main one. I’m shocked it has not been done. Could have a Diorama or a system play set.

Palpatine, Rey, Ben Solo, Sith Sovereign Protector. Perfect.

A couple of sets from the recent Mando Episode:

New Republic X-Wing (scale to Tie Interceptor) £69.99: Captain Carson Teva, Green Astromech, The Mandalorian, R5

Gorian Shard’s Attack Corsair £169.99: Gorian Shard, Pirate Coxswain, Pirate Ugnaught, Pirate Gunner (x2), Greef Karga

By 5 ABY the New Republic is already using T-70 X-Wings. Maybe if we see those in a future Mando episode we could get that. Though really I just don't want another red X-Wing.

Furthermore about the ST, Kylo Ren at least should get stuff as that might actually sell. Perhaps a lightsaber as a GWP, his helmet, and his vessels. ST battle packs are not going to sell as well as others. Kylo Ren is probably one of the only things from the era that will sell sufficiently.

At the very least they need to stop excluding the ST during the advent calendars.
