evancelt Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 (edited) Two new types of gunboat are being deployed in Wullham Bay to help protect the coastal waters. The boats, which can be rapidly put to sea from Fort Stockton, are oar- and sail-powered, and pack a punch with a large onboard gun. An oar-powered gunboat: A sail-powered gunboat: Original Post photo: Spoiler OOC: Was sorting some slopes this evening and thought I'd give the gunboat GOC task a try. It's pretty cartoony - they are sitting pretty high out of the water, so their oars probably wouldn't touch the water (good luck moving!). Submitted to Glory of Corrington - Oaken Shield - Gunboats for the Colonies. To be licensed as two gunboats Edited February 23, 2021 by evancelt Revamped the gunboats for resubmittal Quote
deraven Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Well, it does live up to its name! I think you should add a small paddle wheel on each side (right where those pearl-gold studs are) driven by pedal-power from the inside so the crew doesn't need to worry about the oars reaching the water, or even going above deck! Bodi Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 It has a strong hull for a gunboat, it'll be hard nut to crack. The bow looks good, I think you can build a larger ship from it. Quote
evancelt Posted February 22, 2021 Author Posted February 22, 2021 (edited) Day after posting remorse Haha I think I'll try cutting the hull height in half and resubmitting a more realistic row-able boat (the way it's made I think I can just pop off the bottom two rows of SNOT) - will post here when there is an update Edited February 22, 2021 by evancelt Quote
evancelt Posted February 23, 2021 Author Posted February 23, 2021 @Bregir - I've added some new revisions to the gunboat and hereby re-submit the two variants. I've also now located the gunboats in Wullham Bay On 2/22/2021 at 12:09 AM, deraven said: Well, it does live up to its name!
