First impression.... very cool

Despite a couple comments on the geography (concentric shape) of the model and the

"forced" foliage, I thought everything was well designed. I don't necessarily agree

with the foliage comment....its perfect.

As far as the overall shape of the model, its probably the best use of a large baseplate (POOP)

I've seen in a while.

The use of all your dark grey bricks were well "spent" making the model. I can almost imagine

the red blood pouring out of the statue during the sacrifices.... (a shout out to Mel Gibson's

Appocolypta)

Anyways, great job.

I liked it.

I don't even know where to start so I'll just keep it short and powerful :pir-grin:

Everything about this moc is beautyful.

One thing though. As an Indy fan I really think Indy should've won :pir-laugh:

Keep up the good work

I think all of the concentrated awesomeness of this made me anurism.

:pir-laugh:

Wow, just WOW. You're my hero, Batbrick!

I wonder how much this set would cost if sold by Lego?

Thanks a lot KDog! I didn't experct you to be over here, thanks! :pir-cry_happy:

I too saw this on Brickshelf before Batbrick posted it here and have been meaning to add my praise for a while. It really is awesome.

The thing that jumped out at me when I first saw it was how impressive and solid looking it was - bulky and menacing. The skulls under the window arches are a great detail - you really get the sense that eyes are watching your every move as you approach.... The dark bley and dark tan is a beautiful combination. The foliage is very nice too, it all looks very crisp and jungly, although I'm not sure about the pine trees - different climate, surely? Minor quibble, I know you are short on foliage. The inside is equally splendrous and its a good use of those excess gold roof slopes :pir-classic: I like the multiple levels within the body of the main building itself as it adds to the play value. And the fertility idol making you preggers is hilarious! Totally twisted but logical - fantastic thinking.

I have to agree with Brainbox, I'd like to see a secret compartment - maybe in the rock sculpture at the front? He looks so self-satisfied and glowering, I just know there's something secret hidden in the belly of the beast! It looks like you have room to maybe have a removable section or trapdoor to reveal another room.

In short, you should be rightly proud, Batbrick, even if your stocks of dark bley are now depleted! :pir-tongue:

Thanks for commenting svelte-corps, glad you like it! I agree the pine trees are out of place, when I get something better I'll be sure to replace them. And yes, all fertinlity idols make you preggers, glad you thought it was funny. I agree there needs to be a special compartment, I'll be sure to do that sometime, thanks for the suggestion, I'll be sure to use it. Thanks again.

Thanks medib, happy you like the foliage.

I'm very glad people are liking how it is built over the baseplate. I like your blood idea for the statue, gives me an idea, thanks!

Thanks Errorist! I love Indy too, I grew up watching him religiously! But when it comes to Lego, Johnny all the way! His sets are better :pir-tongue:

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Batbrick Away! :pir-devil:

Just wondering... Is Appocolypta the mispelling of Apocalypto or did the movie have alternate spelling in different regions?

I just had to point out that I had a dream about this MOC last night! I guess it's a testament to how much I love this temple, because in the dream I bought it (or one) from you. In the dream, I came home to find this huge box on my porch and excitedly went inside to open it. I was surprised to find that the core of the set was some kind of Lego one piece building, like those in the old Fabuland sets, and that you had built around it. But it didn't matter because the temple looks so awesome. I think th dream stems from the fact that I wish this was a retail set that I could purchase.
