It’s a bit of a challenge because I only have a small linear actuator. Thanks for the kind words! Look at how NICO71 did with his tipper truck from 42082 - he had some clever locking of the bed in different spots to accommodate the lifting.

April 6, 20213 yr Micro trucks are cool... but adding mobile cranes?  Ooooph... that would open a whole can of worms. Not sure we want to do that.... BTW... what do folks think about rock crawlers..... I guess they are trucks... or can be. Folks cool with adding those?   Here are my contributions.. I have several of the above (crawlers and mobile cranes) but I will wait to hear what others say.... Pneumatic powered Unimog. Altered chassis /body with 8110 cab. Tires are 2.4 RC tires. Yes... the comparison is next to the actual 8110 tire. I can honestly say tires make the machine.  "Redneck Muddin" Truck" - I don't mean this derogatory. If any one knows the extent that certain folks in the US go to create these monsters you will immediately see how much fun they can be. Yes... I learned the hard way I had put the tires on the wrong way as well..... After all.... what is a truck if it doesn't get dirty?   Edited April 6, 20213 yr by nerdsforprez

Great Monster as well, and I  recon that about a monster truck as well (What is a truck if it doesn’t get dirty). Very wise words Mate.

May 5, 20213 yr 20 hours ago, whitepen said: OOOOOOHHHHHH! Great... I am glad you like it. I never got a yea/nay for adding rock climbers, which although the Unimog is NOT that there are other truck possibilities if these are considered.  So... I will add a few more. Here is @PunkTacoNYC's Chili crawler with a few modifications and additions. Bigger tires on planetary hubs (not the new elements, these are hubs that have long been in creation). Slight modifications with gearing and with BuWizz.   I disassembled this model a few years back. Wish I hadn't but am going to rebuild. One of the funnest Lego models I have built. I think Lego builds are limited in terms of speed and fun, not just b/c of elements and power/electronics but because of ABS. Can't churn ABS thousands of RPMs without degrading the parts much. However, trial truck and rock climbers are different. I think one can really have RC quality fun with Lego builds. Less about speed and more about power (which with SBrick and BuWizz can be achieved), precision, driving, etc. Can actually be quite cerebral as you try to pick you lines, hit the terrain in the right spots, etc. I love at moment around 2:35 in the above video where I almost fall off the "trail" but manage to stay one knowing the weight of the vehicle.   I have another large crawler, which looks muck more like a traditional "truck" - but all pics are at home. Will add once I have the chance. Also, going to rebuild @PunkTacoNYC's rocket and also chili crawlers with new BuWizz 3.0 when in finally arrives...
May 8, 20213 yr Another truck build: not entirely Technic build, more like model team approach at minifig scale, but the video is about some challenges when it comes to making something this small with RC. Not a complete success, but the video should be interesting to watch
