Ropefish Posted May 10, 2024 Author Posted May 10, 2024 More updates! I finally got a trailing truck design I really like! I’ve also gone ahead and started detailing the locomotive in its factory finish paint, I actually had a lot of great advise from Glenn Holland on the running gear and I think I’m rather happy with it now but have redone the entire piston assembly to invert the 1x6 tile and bring them a smidge closer to the body as they are what takes the ten wide to eleven! Overall though I had a lot of ideas and rough models I made for the a far more realistic running gear but realized I sorta like the charm of this Lego esque setup, it feels accurate /enough/ and runs in a way that makes me happy! I was however able to redo the drivers in prep for the new motors and much more heavily detail the break lines and greeble on the for set! I’ve never actually shown off much of the internals but this is pretty much all the wiring, I had to disassemble the loco into its two halves and tear off all the panel but boy was I happy to have made it so the panels all come off in segments! I’ve redone the cab almost entirely while keeping the same shape… it was really loose before and never felt solid enough so I was glad to correct that and add even more details! Quote
