STHLM Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 As a house builder, it is almost inevitable to go for the narrow houses they have along the canals in Amsterdam. I do not know how it works in Amsterdam, but in my city some houses have become so stagnant that they have been replaced with new ones in a similar style. The two with some white in the facade are probably built later are the others. TheLegoDr Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Incredible! I've been building some Dutch inspired buildings lately (having never been anywhere near there I have to resort to online pictures for styles). These capture the design aesthetic really well. I also like the scene you included. Most of my buildings are static and not too dynamic. The piano and facial expressions is spot on! Kudos. Quote
Jack Sassy Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Good work, I always have a soft spot for those types of roof sides. They're popular in Amsterdam? Quote
deraven Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 What a great selection of row houses! Nice variety of styles, and the various SNOT techniques give a lot of character and make them unique, along with the nice color choices. Quote

I've never been to Amsterdam either, but I've seen that the canal houses is quite popular to be inspired by. 22 hours ago, Jack Sassy said: Good work, I always have a soft spot for those types of roof sides. The canal houses are quite characteristic for Amsterdam I guess. 18 hours ago, deraven said: What a great selection of row houses! One of the techniques is very much "inspired" by Barrie Crossan:Brooklyn Juice Bar (A2) by Barrie Crossan, on Flickr Quote
Vaiman Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Nicely Done! I especially love the use of garage door rail bricks on the white building, and the general level of detail on the grey one. And the white colours pop nicely on the dark tan one, which is perhaps the closest to an actual 'grachtpand' in old Dutch cities like Amsterdam. Quote

The facade of the white one is quite unstalbe as parts of it is SNOT:ed upside down. Quote
MAVERICK26 Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 You captured the aesthetic of Amsterdam really well! I love it ! Quote
