This is my Prototype Star Wars (None Cannon!) Clone Wars era Starfighter MOC set in 501st Legion colours. The set is made up of the Starfighter, a Hanger Utility Repulsorcraft with cargo & mobile Aircraft Steps for the minifig to access cockpit of the fighter.

For the pilot I bought a Clone Pilot (Sand Blue Legs) (SW0118) minifig as he is blue, not quite 501st colours unfortunately. I did think about buying a 501st Clone Pilot (SW0439) £20 minifig, but I couldn't justify the price for a temporary set.

I'm using an R2-D2 (SW1085) to fill the obligatory Astromech droid slot on the fighter. I think the Astromech Droid Blue (Imperial) (SW0773) would have looked much better, but again the price £14 tag is a bit high for this.

An NI-L8 Protocol Droid (SW1136) is used as an operator for the Hanger Utility Repulsorcraft cargo vehicle.

I thought about tiling off the underside of the fighter completely, but felt it should have folding landing gears for functionality as it's meant to be in a playset.

Due to the fact this is none cannon in the Star Wars universe, I've decided to post here instead of the Star Wars part of the forum.

This looks great! It really looks like something the republic would have, sort of similar to a headhunter or E-wing. I love all the little side details too, like the ladder and maintenance cart with the barrels.

Thank you, I had the Z-95 Headhunter in the back of my mind when I was building the fighter.

The side builds / details just popped into my head whilst watching A New Hope. :classic:

Is the main build just a reuse of the pieces from 75280?

Yes, for the most part. Also some parts from two Trouble on Tatooine (75299) & two T-16 (75265) sets.

I had to buy some extra parts for this such as the canopy & blue curved slopes at the back of the fighter. I've been buying a fair amount of plates, tiles & various types of slopes from Bricklink over the last few months. Some of these would have been used too,

Bricklink is so addictive, ha ha!

Yes, after seeing this I began to see some of those parts as well. Bricklink is very addictive once one figures out how it works!

I'm glad that it's not only me that was initially confused by the Bricklink system, lol.

Nice model! I like how snugly the canopy fits on the ship; on builds this size I find it difficult sometimes to fit the canopy to the model in a way that doesn't leave little gaps around the edges but here you've done it well.

Thank you. :classic:

Yeah, fitting the canopy was much trickier that I thought it would be & a bit of a learning curve!
