Yup. Extremely underrated episode too, probably the most star wars has been actual war content besides rogue one.

In that case we agree then. A p2 cody could easily be added to any generic GAR vehicle.

PT is prequel trilogy, or just sort of prequel era in general. I was referring to the demand for more prequel era sets, which lego has seen and responded by making the summer 2020 and 2021 waves plurality prequel era.

Multiple reliable leakers have reported on this wave, which includes (and I'm sure I'm forgetting some here) a CW mandalorian fighter, duel on mandalore, bad batch shuttle, etc for prequel sets, alongside vader's meditation chamber and two mandalorian sets (arquitens and trexler marauder)

Nice to see the gunship will be using that cockpit piece, and with Hans Burkhard Schlomer designing it it’s sure to be an epic set. Would love to see that type of interview in the lead up to a D2C set more often. The reveal of the set should be soon, but hopefully not too soon because I need time to save money for it!

An image of the Probe Droid has appeared and it looks great, I don’t collect the droids though.

I agree it looks great, good to have such a nice clear image too. I am surprised by the DBG colour instead of black, but it’s nice

I agree, DBG seems like an odd choice especially when every other probe droid LEGO has produced is black. Still looks neat though, excited to get some more pictures.

EDIT just realised the UCS plaque has snow on the edges as well. That's a really cool touch.

I know the probe droid does look good but I must remind myself that it’s a set I don’t need as I haven’t got any of the other droid sets.

vaders helmet image is also floating around. Looks good from the image that’s there and I’m glad to see it’s only the helmet and not the shoulders too.

just need the scout trooper image to come out and also hopefully a third

Vader on the other hand... I know it's just a look at his side, but that gives us an idea... more studs... *sigh*.

But the ones from last year have lots of studs so Vader being study shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone

It’s actually not the studs that bother me, but the shape, it looks square, and the hinges aren’t all that appealing. I feel like at least one part of the helmet should’ve been tiled for variance. The front of the helmet looks very blocky too.

But as a positive, the proportions are way better now with a different picture.

Sorry, I was talking in a Lego context. Thought it was pretty obvious, clearly not. Lego + Sequels = failure.

I’ve seen the carnage and venom heads far better than the iron man they did last year. The big problem with them is I thought these are supposed to be helmets and not heads!

I’ve got all 3 Star Wars ones from last year and I think they look great, better than the photos. My favourite is the Tie and I wish Fett was slightly larger.

They don't really confirm it though, they just mention the rumors.

By my calculations the model should be approximately 67 cm long with cannons and 56 cm without.

Didn't they say after the vote that they had some prototypes of the other 2 sets but not the Gunship implying that they are starting from scratch? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I do somewhat remember reading this in one of the interviews.

And I doubt they knew the Gunship would win, I think it was only put to see if there is any interest in prequel UCS sets and they got quite surprised with the results.

they'll be even more surprised when it sells badly because they didn't include jedi bob and 120 clone troopers led by phase II cody!

I truly hope those people are a vocal minority as opposed to the majority of supporters, because this would fare awfully for future prequel UCS sets if they avoid it because it wasn't a $350 army builder

I’ll just say that I don’t know why people would want Commander Cody to be locked behind a $350 set. I’m sure he’ll come eventually but why do it in a set that’s prohibitively expensive to a lot of people? If they had included him, people would be complaining just as much.

 

If anything, I find the exclusion of clone pilots far more egregious.

Yeah, it was like when some people complained about the minifigure lineup of the UCS Falcon when it was first revealed. The focus of the set is the Gunship, not the figures.

Cody should be in an Utapau Obi-Wan v Grievous set with the Varactyl and Grievous's bike. 50-60 bucks. The clone pilots thing makes literally no sense, they really decided to put knockoff Captain Fordo instead of an actual pilot for the darn ship. LoGiC.

wait people complained about the Falcon lineup?! It's all of both crews minus Obi-Wan...the heck?

Edit: turns out it isn't but still that lineup was pretty darn good.

Couldn't agree more, seems like a lob that would be loved by the masses...

A probe droid picture and a side view of Vader helmet were leaked. Probe droid looks good (even has some snow on top of its UCS plaque), while Vader helmet doesn't really look that special to me from side angle. Will have to see front picture of it to give better judgement
