I didn't follow the dark saber discussion very closely. I wouldn't be surprised of a normal hilt with a black/trans black 30374 bar 4L. Yes, a black katana is also possible, but a completely new piece? Does anyone really NEED that?

I don't think we'll see a new mold either. That said I think while a black katana would work OK, it would need something to differentiate it from just being a sword... Either a fancy colourway for the whole thing or the hilt made a different colour, maybe by making a silver one and dipping or printing the blade black. My knowledge of LEGO's production process isn't sufficient to know how feasible this is though.

Excellent idea  The only issue I see with this is the fact it‘s part of a weapons pack, and a newly-coloured one at that… Then again, there’s a precedence case where a pack like that was recoloured with only a single piece actually being used in the set, namely the Voltron Ideas set  

I‘m mentally prepared for a black 4L bar, but fingers crossed your idea pans out

The part in-question is only slightly curved, and it has a flat blade with a notched tip and is specifically designed to fit into a lightsaber hilt - Barring an entirely new piece (which I agree is unlikely, as well as unwarranted), this part is the best choice for the Darksaber, IMO (and certainly better than just a black bar!).

This exact weapons pack was recoloured in white for a single $50 Ninjago set, so a recolour in black for Gideon's Light Cruiser is definitely not out of the question.

Considering Echo, I would assume that Fennic's kama will be printed (which I actually do not mind, since getting a properly-shaped/printed cloth element is highly unlikely). As for her hair, I am not quite sure what LEGO will do. A recolour of Elsa's could work, but the braid is on the wrong side (though this would prevent the hair from interfering with posing the Minifig with a blaster). Makkari's hair (from Marvel's Eternals sets, and reused in the City wildlife subtheme) is also an option, though it looks more like her Bad Batch design. 🤔

I agree that the recolored weapon pack katana piece would work the best for the Darksaber, but even if it is just the older design in the Light Cruiser I'd say it's highly likely that the weapon pack will get recolored in black in a different set anyway, so we can always just make a custom one once that happens.

I'm also hoping for the recolored katana piece. Could you guys imagine a dual molded black and white katana piece with white edges and black interior?

Its likely that the beskar spear and darksaber will be exclusive to the Gideon cruiser set for a while isn't it?

Canonically the scene in the Beskar Forge with Paz Vizla was only in the first 3 episodes of the show, but the rumors say we are getting the Jetpack which was in episode 8. Does anyone think we will get a few non-canonical accessories in the set such as another copy of a beskar spear.

I am 99.99% sure that the Beskar spear will be depicted with a standard spear in Flat Silver. I see no need for either a new mould or a recolour.

Gotcha, I wasn't saying a new spear mold, I know this part can be bricklinked, I was just wondering how many mando sets this part will get officially released in as most kids don't know how to use Bricklink.

 

Mostly, what I was speculating about is whether or not LEGO would include a few bonus weapon accessories in the Forge set since its basically an armory, throwing an extra spear in would be nice for kids so they can get a fully kitted mando figure without having to buy a super expensive set.

When do we usually get reveals? I know this question is asked too much  but seeing Marvel and Ninjago get reveals is getting me antsy (granted they're coming out in a week in those strange locales known as Not America) so I was wondering.

That’s a fantastic observation, I can definitely see Makkari’s hair being used for Fennec! And yes, her skirt will probably be printed, although I wonder if the Arquitens being a playset rather than a vehicle for her to ‘sit’ in will factor in.

I agree with @BigA_7, probably sometime in June. Sets are typically revealed around a month prior to release (although 2021 has shaken that up it seems, looking at you, Infinity Saga wave!). I believe last year, the summer wave was leaked via a retailer catalogue on June 1st, though I remember how late in general set information for that summer wave was revealed anyway. Fingers crossed the Beskar Forge releases on August 1st with the rest of the summer wave as opposed to September.

I doubt that, since Fennec's kama is cut at a unique angle and would need to be printed with orange stripes - It is simply easier for LEGO to print everything onto her legs (since she would need leg printing anyway) than it is to make a new cloth element. Additionally, the restrictiveness of cloth kamas would make posing a dynamic character like Fennec irritatingly difficult. 😬

While we’re on the subject of fennec this is a pretty good custom that with a bit of fiddling (maybe a narrower, closer-to-the-head lower half) could work for her.

The 360 view on legos website  of the BB shuttles cockpit has been updated the print looks much better now and more angular looking it offsets the curve on the piece which was the most distracting thing for me on it.

I believe they mean Paz has the jetpack, but I might be wrong. Far from the biggest canonical inconsistency lego's had, though, and since it's lego I honestly don't care because you can just take off the jetpack.

So, there's a post on IG that I assume is probably BS, considering the original "leaker" has about 100 followers, but they're claiming a D+ CMF series is coming.  I'm assuming that this is just some guy trying to establish credibility by taking what they're doing for Marvel and assuming it'll come with SW, then if it does happen, they can say "See, I was right!" and spread more BS rumors, but does anyone reliable have any info on this?  Or is it just a case of "throw ish at the wall and see what sticks"?

I think that is for Marvel D+, with WandaVision, What If and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Unless they mean separate from that with a Star Wars series in addition to Marvel.

The person is claiming they're doing a SW one too with Andor, Kenobi, Mando, and Bad Batch, but again, the leaker seems sketchy and it seems likely that they're just making it up based on the fact that we're getting a Marvel D+ one and are then assuming SW may get one too.

As far as I remember, no.  There was supposedly another $200 set coming this year, but we already have R2-D2, the Gunship, and apparently an $800 UCS AT-AT coming this year, so adding a 4th large D2C-style set seems way too much for one year.  Historically the MBS stuff has been on a two year cycle with relatively short shelf-lives, I feel like the Cantina will probably have a relatively long shelf life, just because of how popular it is, but it seems like we'll probably get another MBS next fall, if the pattern continues.

Ah okay. Personally, I am not placing much stock in it unless someone else more credible picks it up. I don't think it would make much sense for the Bad Batch and Mando, we have a fair amount of those figures already or heavily rumored to be underway. Thanks for clarifying!

Just to be clear, though, I don't have insider info, that's just my guess based on how the previous release patterns have gone.  I really would highly doubt they put out another MBS set this year (especially because at some point, they're going to run out of MBS locations, there's only so much they can do at a $350 price point), but I guess you never know.  Last year, people thought we'd be getting an Imperial Shuttle UCS set, and it turned out to be the Cantina.

Agree, there's a few Mando characters like Mayfield, Trapper Wolf, Frog Lady, or the guy Matt Lanter plays that would be nice, but not 100% necessary to me.

The source seems to track back to a post made by d3athbricks_studios 5 days ago. They are a (mainly) bionicle meme account who has never posted any leaks before. I think we can pretty definitively say that the rumour is not real.

If there was going to be a CMF it wouldn’t be on those shows. They don’t have any specifically unique and iconic characters, unlike the Marvel CMF, several characters from which will probably never be made in a set due to their places in the narrative (Throg immediately comes to mind, as does say Zombie Cap). CMFs have always been primarily unique characters; that’s the drive for them. Almost all of Mando’s characters have been made or will be made, Andor’s stuff was all made in the Rogue One wave, Bad Batch is really just the five main clones we’ve already gotten and Omega and Fennec who we will get sooner rather then later, and do I even need to explain why Kenobi doesn’t make sense for a CMF? It’s going to be him crying in his hut between beating up Sand People and stormies.
