Prometheus87 Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Other than the AT-AT, what's left for releases in 2021 and people's thoughts on what "Could" be coming in First Wave 2022? Quote

AFAIK there was one set number still unaccounted for, but at this point, if it's not a September retailer exclusive, that's probably cancelled. Could've also been something where there was confusion between multiple sets and a set we actually got was mis-allocated to another number, therefore giving two numbers to the same set. If the recent pattern holds, the 2022 Winter wave will probably be smaller, maybe 4-5 system sets, 2-3 Microfighters, a 4+ Juniors set, and maybe 1-2 Battle Packs, if they are indeed bringing them back. I'd hazard a guess that it'll be a couple of remakes and then maybe some stuff from Book of Boba Fett or Bad Batch. Quote

TeddytheSpoon Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 There's been a persistent, if unconfirmed, rumour that the GWP with the AT-AT will be some sort of miniature Star Destroyer, but aside from that I don't think there's anything left for 2021. Quote

lego_guyon02 Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been delayed again, this time to spring 2022. Only good news is that there's a new trailer: Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I'd rather they delay it than releasing an unfinished, barely functional game Quote
samsz_3 Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 (edited) The Kylo Ren ep9 TIE interceptor model in this trailer is different to the one from the 20th December 2019 trailer. Could this mean its an upcoming set? I get designers of the game models don't have to follow official builds, but they already had a model and changed it makes me wonder... Especially since the OT X wing/TIE fighter are still the 2018 models, not the 2021 downsized ones (also the Falcon is the 2015 TFA one, not the 2019 TROS or the UCS one? which makes no sense) Edited August 25, 2021 by samsz_3 Quote

It's just that first they announced "Holidays 2020", then "Spring 2021", then it was "delayed indefinitely", and now it's "Spring 2022". Like bruh, how did it suddenly get pushed 1.5 years back. Although I do recall it being listed as soon retiring, so I can see some vendors starting to run out of stock soon as it's not available at Amazon.com How much this could be because of the global shipping delays, I don't know but could be contributing if it's still in production. There's definately some serious problems going on behind the scenes... 5 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: Bruh. The trailer is amazing tho. For builds, fully lego builds that look possible in real life are pretty rare in the LSW games as far as I remember. Like in the old ones padme's ship (which didn't have a lego model) wasn't lego-ized. Quote

Just on top of my head Padme's ship, Defoliator AAT, Separatist Super Tank, Droid Landing Craft, Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery Turbolaser, Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter, clone wars version of Separatist Shuttle, improved and updated J-1 proton cannons, Trident-class Assault Ship, Geonosian cart or carriage thingy... They even had a perfectly scaled AT-RTs which they somehow can't even make nowadays. Quote

I only ever played the saga games and the free levels of force awakens, so I didn't realize they'd updated that. 2 hours ago, Kdapt-Preacher said: I'm not sure which games you're talking about, but in the Complete Saga it certainly is. Yeah, I was watching a no way home trailer breakdown while writing this and it really didn't turn out right. my point was more so that you can usually tell which lego models are realistic, and which are not things that would be released as sets. In this case, the color is off, and the ship is gargantuan. Quote

There's definately some serious problems going on behind the scenes. This is my concern with the game as well. I'm all for delays if it means a better game but with so many it starts to seem like there is some kind of bigger issue with the game's development. The new trailer does look pretty good which may be a good sign, but obviously they could just be hiding issues. I think the best case scenario is that they either announced the game way too early and/or just ended up making a much bigger game than they originally had intended to, with COVID also playing at least a minor role in the delays. On an unrelated note, I picked up the Duel on Mandalore set the other day. As expected, the figs are the main draw, and I think both are great. The actual build is more substantial than I expected but still doesn't feel quite worth the money, though the little vault is oddly entertaining. Quote
wesker Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 The trailer looks amazing! Hopefully the long delay will be worth the wait. Seeing Crait Luke and Battle Padme reminds me how badly those two need a proper minifigure release. 3 hours ago, Mandalorianknight said: If it's a character, yeah. No chance. Not always the case. While Lego games do mostly create their own designs for unreleased characters, there have been instances where upcoming minifigures due for release in the near future were first revealed in the video games. I remember it happening with the first Marvel Superheroes, LOTR and Hobbit games. Even this one has already given us our first look at arm printed Darth Vader before the Final Duel set was even unveiled. Quote

Paz looks much better in person IMO. Good little set, you can get a lot more mileage out of it by keeping the builds in bags 1, 2 and 3 separate instead of connecting them. Combined with the mando battle pack it’s a good cheap way to get lots of mandos and a cool location. Quote

I just built this set yesterday, and I agree the figures are definitely well worth it. I really like the vault as well and made sure that I had that sticker perfectly aligned so that you can see Maul's eyes clearly. I may try to use this and create a MOC of the scene when they were handing Maul off to Asoka and the clones. Quote
