Solution: one single forum, but with tags :classic:

A thread can hold multiple tags. Then people can easily select the tags they are interested in.

Agreed. It's all Lego, why all the divisions?

I for one sure appreciate all the divisions, keeps me from wasting time searching or viewing models I have no interest in, no matter how great.

Solution:

LEGO Technic, Model Team and Scale Modeling

Is this still happening? The name of the forum doesn't seem to have changed yet.

It is. We were waiting for the contest to end. We will do it in the next several days.

Well, it's just as I had suspected...
Just at the time the merger has taken place, the lastest topics from the ex-Scale Modeling Forum have already dropped to page 2 or worse.
Can't imagine how this can bring more attention to scale modeling...

*sigh*

That is because they had very few views and replies, and the date of their last activity (last reply) was a day or so ago, enough to put it on page two in the Technic forum.
It will be different once people post a Scale Model in this merged forum. It will have better visibility and more attention and replies.

We were stuck between a rock and a hard place. At the end of the day, I think the great MOCs will get the attention they deserve in this forum.

What are the requirements for calling it a scale model?

I have a few unpublished technic models (mostly no system bricks, but buildt to scale). Would those qualify? Have a look at my 3 ton linde as an example (Im working on a revision with the new longer LA's making it relevant again):

If this is not considered a scale model, I would like to know what is required to use the tag.

I’d simply call it [MOC] and omit the tags. It’s a great model and for me it doesn’t really matter whether it’s a scale model or not. We now have a single forum for both

You can read all the info regarding Scale Models, requirements and such in the newly pinned topic:

As Jim said, they (Technic and Scale models) are all in the same forum, so you don't have to chase tags.
Btw, I really like the forklift, looking forward to proper presentation. Love the tank!

I vibe with this so much. People gotta stop compartmentalising everything
