Do I need to make a training room post to change my stats with the character points?

No, though it is the preferred option.

Phew! Was away without internet for a few days, was nervous I'd miss the boat for the mission. Looks like I'm back just in time! LETS GOOOOO! Glad to be back with Kinto and CMP, excited to adventure with some new blood too!

I think this should be a fun adventure! :sweet: I'm excited to see where this group goes and I'm excited to show off a sliver of what Cosmopoli has to offer.

@karmajay, please do not make purchases from the Bazaar after posting in a mission topic until the mission is over, at least not without asking the MM's permission first.

@Kintobor

I noticed and wasn't going to comment on it until the mission was over, but generally speaking it's best to shop before posting in the mission thread. It's not the biggest offence, but it's generally good practice to do so beforehand.

Nothing too severe, but something to keep in mind for next time. :classic:

Ah I was going by the 24 hours left to buy something message and did not realize the order of things. Understood!

Again, I don't think there was anything happening initially that would warrant the purchasing of items in the market, but once you've posted in the quest it's considered being there and present for it in case a situation comes up very early on that might benefit from having a certain type of item. It's not a huge deal in this scenario, but it might be down the line.

Thorvald wanders over to the Mission board and posts a new Mission.

Mission #5: Slay Ride
Mission Master: Waterbrick Down
Assignment: "We've had an influx of predatory scavengers lately and our town is preparing for Recivic's famous tricennial 2000 mile sled-wyrm race, the Ivishin. We need help clearing some of the trails to keep the racers safe." - Mervin Softpaw, Ivishin Directors Board Member.
Party Requirements: 3-6 well equipped hunters that don't mind the cold.
Reward: 50 credits each and a calibrated weapon.
Sign-ups Close: 8/20

I got to wonder about the timing with Mr. Down gone camping and unable to run to the other "missions" right now. I get the feeling that the one mission I am one is close to being done. Plus I might be willing to sign up for this mission. And I am getting a impression not enough people would volunteer for above mission in the time frame. Thank for reading.

I wouldn't worry about the timing too much! If there are enough sign-ups (and there might be - there are some people in the Hall, and hopefully new members will be drawn in!) then the quest will go forward. If there aren't, WBD can put it off. Easy peasy.

Hopefully there will be some others who host quests too, to take the burden off just WBD and Kinto. Hopefully one day I will join the ranks!

Also: enjoying how tense the battles are so far! KoTZ, I'm sorry to see you go down a few times, but I like the feeling of danger. I didn't feel super in danger in Heroica 1.0 - don't want to constantly die, but like the threat, personally!

Your quests for Heroica: Fantasy were a direct inspiration for some of the plotlines I'm working on, so I know I'd be more than happy to have you back to tell some new stories in this system. :sweet:

I will say this: one of the things I and others stressed when designing Heroica 2.0 was a desire to drastically scale back the number crunch of Heroica: Fantasy. Sandy's gone on record saying Final Fantasy was an inspiration in the creation of the game, and it shows in both good and less than good ways. No offence intended towards Sandy, but at later levels the numbers got into the thousands for damage at times, and running combat could take hours as a Quest Master typed away on a calculator doing math. I hope the combat system that was developed makes combat more dynamic, deadly, engaging, and quicker to run. :classic:

I intend to have a quest ready to launch by September! I've just been very busy during the summer, but there'll be more postings soon!

I part of the with KoTZ going down is just we are not familiar enough with the "new" system. I know I was confused at times.

Well that is good to hear that other people are willing to run missions.

As for the timing I know he (Water brick down) could just delayed the mission. I just thought it was bad timing in general. I figured he would want some sort of break between missions. He is running two missions right now.

Yeah, it's definitely still learning the new system. But oh man is the danger real. It's kinda fun, kinda not.

The combat is definitely something else than Heroica 1.0. I'll echo samurai-turtle and KotZ in that I'm also still learning the system. Currently, it can feel a bit overwhelming, especially with the "external" proficiencies that can also be used, next to the standard move/shoot/defend battle options. I think we did botch the start of our current battle though by not working on a proper plan of action . Characters that remain in each others vicinity are way more lethal than going solo.

And I'm back. Thanks folks for holding down the fort while I was away. Glad to see everything didn't burn to the ground. Again my apologies for the delay, based on previous years I was expecting to at least have data on my phone to continue running missions, but only found out a few days ahead of time that it wouldn't be the case for this location.

As Kintober mentioned if we don't have enough sign-ups for the mission by the deadline or if I think other missions will finish up around the deadline, I'll certainly extend it to give more opportunity to players to minimize sitting around.

Completely agree. The first setup post of a combat still takes a good 30 min to post, but running a round can be done in less than 10 minutes. It really is night and day difference. The hope is the system expands in its complexity by what you can do to and with the numbers and not just how big you can make them.

Horrible timing and not something I would have planned on had I known going in I'd be without any means of posting. Thanks for your patience, I know it wasn't something you or any of your fellow mission members signed up for. :classic:

I'm hoping to get in and host a fully canon mission for this new rulebook sooner than later.

Also, Decker finally makes it to the Heroica statistical registry! And that joke about him forgetting to load his gun finally makes itself clear on his stat sheet. I think I got the stat allocation right, but I'd be happy to fix it if I didn't.

Great to have you on board, @Endgame!

Also your character sheet looks good.

Really enjoying Bers' two quests for booze and murder, both of which keep not working out for them!

And Decker looks great, Endgame! Looking over the quests so far I think most parties are gonna need a bit of a heavy hitter tank sort of situation, glad to see some folks going for it!

In theory how big is the "lockers" spouse to? As big as I want or is their some limit?

As big as they need to be. I wouldn't necessarily say they could fit an entire space ship though.

I've got to say Quest 4's dialog and interactions between the PC is quite stellar so far, very entertaining to read!

Thanks, WBD! Already having a blast! Knew of course CMP would bring some fire, but like I said up top I'm really enjoying both our robotic-esque new pals too! Excited to see how people who share a race (there are so many of them this time, with big histories too!) play off of each other and highlight similarities/differences!

As for the second point, fine by me! I read Merei turning to Bers and asking Bers to sort of assert himself into the situation as a threat, and I imagine Dutch Thriceman would agree with the assessment of their actions as trying to impose one's presence in an intimidating manner. I will run the roll shortly as well as what occurs from it!

Don't want to keep going back and forth OoC in thread, but again, the dramatic irony is 100% intentional. Merei is like "this dude wants to crack skulls, I'll pull him in to show Flo we can defend her!" I, Zepher, the player, understand this will be misconstrued as a threat, even though Merei absolutely does not.

It is, in short, a joke.  :head_back:

Which is perfectly fine by me! I just want to make sure it was 100% intentional and not me misunderstanding how you presented your inquiries. :sweet:

Totally cool, AND very generous! And again, just speaking for myself - this was an intentional muck up, but if I ever just really drop the ball by accident, I'm cool with living with the consequences of that too.

Also happy to wait a second if CMP wants to resolve streamer conversation - that's the tough thing of online - don't want to blow past anyone else's good moments.
